Stove Top Stuffing - 6/ 8 oz. pouches

Stove Top Stuffing - 6/ 8 oz. pouchesIf you like to have "stuffing" with your every day chicken this is one way to do that without a lot of hassle. I suspend my inner critic's voice, open a jar of chicken gravy, roast my chicken breast, open a can of jellied cranberry sauce and have a delicious, easy to fix in minutes weeknight supper. What more could one ask?

What's not to like? Delicious stuffing in five minutes. You can prepare as much or as little as you like. With a neat little trick that I've discovered, you can get a real cooked-in-the-bird flavor, even though you're preparing it on the stove. All you need to do is to substitute about half of the water that the instructions call for with juices from your cooked chicken. Pour the juices into the measuring cup and add water to bring the total to the desired amount. I also prefer a little more liquid than what the instructions call for, although one can adjust that to one's personal preference.

Traditional Irish Breakfast Links. 1lb

Traditional Irish Breakfast Links. 1lbOur family loved the breakfast sausages that we had in Ireland, so I wanted to see if I could find them here. Tommy Maloney seems to be the leader in the States.

My family and I really enjoyed the Moloney's sausages. Made in NY, they have much the same flavor and texture of the real thing in Ireland. I couldn't taste a difference. Note that these bangers are of the skinny variety -about finger thickness. They brown up nicely in the skillet and have a satisfying snap when bitten. If you want thicker bangers, Maloney has those as well. We ordered five of the skinny link packages and two 8oz. tubes of the black pudding (also good, if you like black pudding of course).

While we love the product, there is room for improvement in shipping. Our first shipment came on time, shipped by 2nd day air. Unfortunately, the meat arrived at a temperature of over 65 degrees Fahrenheit, not a safe temperature, so I had to discard the shipment. I should note that the temperatures in Texas at the time my shipment arrived were over 100 degrees F, and the package sat in the UPS truck all day long before being delivered to me. The meat was shipped in a cardboard box with a reflective bubble-wrap type of insulating bag. Inside of the bag were fully thawed ice packs and four fully-evaporated dry ice bags. The insulation just wasn't up to the challenge.

I called Maloney's and received friendly customer service. They promised that they would reship the sausages when they could (they only ship to Texas on Mondays). I requested that they ship with more dry ice and insulation.

The replacement package arrived as promised at a safe temperature. Still only one bubble-type insulating bag, but with extra dry ice bags. The dry ice had completely evaporated, but the standard ice packs were still mostly frozen.

Maloney's has a great product, but shipping & packaging is critical to their mail-order customers. I'd suggest some improvements. First, consider double bagging the shipments in the bubble wrap or using styrofoam. Both of my shipments had a lot of condensation on the outside of the bubble wrap which made the cardboard box soggy. A lot of condensation on the reflective bubble wrap means that the bag isn't doing a good job insulating. I've had luck getting frozen pizzas and other meats shipped to me in styrofoam boxes with no problems. Styrofoam is probably more expensive, but when shipping in the summer, especially to the South, styrofoam is the right tool for the job. Second, consider using more dry ice; the dry ice isn't surviving for the two-day trip. Third, the plastic containers on three of the five sausage packages were cracked open in shipment. The plastic containers are too brittle to be stacked in a shipping box without some other kind of protection or support (cardboard, perhaps?). The cracked containers meant that juices from the sausages leaked into the bottom of the insulating bag, which made things a bit messy and required me to repackage the sausages for storage. Ultimately though, the sausages were delicious.

Summing up, I love the product, and will order it again. If you miss your full Irish breakfast, now you can get it in the States. Customer service is great. Shipping, at least to hot parts of the country, could be improved. I hope that Tommy Maloney takes my suggestions in mind for its future shipments.

I finally found a source for those fantastic sausages I really miss here in the US. It took years to find them, but these sausages are great! Arrived before promised, delivered in dry ice. Cooked up and plumped up just like real sausages should. Tasted heavenly!

Stonewall Kitchens, Traditional Crepe Mix, 16-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 4)

Stonewall Kitchens, Traditional Crepe Mix, 16-Ounce CanistersThis is my first time purchasing this product. I've tried to make crepes before and they turned out so-so. These were insanely perfect. My ONLY complaint is that the directions are not for the whole box and it took a little math to do. Know that 16 tbsp equals 1 cup. That will help.

I'm actually back to buy more and plan on having a crepe party in a few weeks.

We're not crepe connoisseurs, but these were easy to make and tasted great! Not too thick or runny if you follow the directions. One thing we do insist on: puree your mixture in a blender or food processor as Alton Brown recommends for very smooth batter.

Purchased this along with the villaware crepe maker. Have made two batches of crepes so far per the recipe (using 1 cup of mix) attached. I'd estimate each box would make 4 batches, and each batch makes ~12 crepes (will vary depending on size of course), which's enough to feed two adults. As I paid $24 for 4 boxes, that comes out to ~12.5 cents of mix/crepe, pretty good value :)

In terms of taste, they were very very good. My gf said she thought they were delicious, and she's a french girl who grew up on crepes :) The recipe attached was easy--two eggs, a little butter, 1 cup water + 1 cup mix. Main thing to make sure is you mix the batter thoroughly so there're no clumps, but that was easy enough to do even with just a plastic fork--no mixing appliances needed.

Definitely recommend, along with the villaware crepe maker :)

These crepes are delicious and come out very good but unfortunately they contain 4 g sugar per serving, which a bit more than I would prefer. I prefer my crepes not quite as sweet. But still would recommend, just not if you're watching your sugar.

Tried these, from our local grocer. Followed the directions carefully, but the mix was a poor consistency and very difficult to work with. Will stick w/the Canterbury Farms mix -easy to prepare, easy to cook, and tastes great!

Klein's Naturals Turkish Apricots, 13-Ounce Tubs (Pack of 6)

Klein's Naturals Turkish Apricots, 13-Ounce TubsI was very happy with these dried apricots. They were clearly superior to more expensive product I purchased at my local supermarket. They have a very nice flavor and there were no tough, overly dry pieces as I have found in other products. The one pound container is very convenient and, in my kitchen, was suitable for storage after opening. My box of six one-pound containers arrived in good shape, perhaps because it was part of a larger, well packed order. I intend to order the product again.

These are the best dried apricots I have had to date. They are wonderful dried fruit. The preservatives are also minimal. Well done...

I love apricots and have been fortunate to have travelled to Turkey and had real Turkish dried apricots. While traveling there I had found there were definite differences in size, taste, quality and freshness. These imported Turkish apricots are very good quality with excellent flavor and consistency. Having read the previous reviews I was concerned about the packaging, however they came in perfect shape. They are very well packaged six clear plastic tubs arrived in their own cardboard box (like a six-pack of bottled beer) covered in clear plastic all around, and packaged again in amazon's usual box with air pillows. if the tubs get broken, then the two boxes they are all contained in have to get crushed as well. A great product and I will gladly purchase them again.

This brand's attributes are nicely positioned between Harmony (tough) and Sun Maid (soft and sticky). The pieces are large: only 5 per quarter cup as opposed to 6 for the other two brands. I had no problems with the packaging: the plastic film seal was intact on all my containers. The plastic containers are thin and brittle, so I guess they could break with rough handling.

Want Klein's Naturals Turkish Apricots, 13-Ounce Tubs (Pack of 6) Discount?

firstly, the packaging. all of the tubs were opened, plastic cracked, tubs lids do not fit the bowls so they can't actually close and seal the contents, it looked like one tub was eaten out of, apricots missing. Looks like this stuff gets shipped from turkey and they repackage it in Brooklyn into really lousy packaging that does not fit. i used to live in Brooklyn, that place is full of rats. the fact that all the tubs came opened, lids don't fit, and plastic seal is broken is beyond disgusting. i can only imagine under what circumstances they were repacked down there in brooklyn. again disgusting.

finally these are not Natural Apricots, they are full of Sulfur Dioxide for preservative. If i could give this mess a negative 5 stars I would.

Umpqua Oats Not Guilty Oatmeal, All Natural, 1.8-Ounce (Pack of 6)

Umpqua Oats Not Guilty Oatmeal, All Natural, 1.8-OunceThis oatmeal is the best instant that I've tasted. My only criticism is that it needs more fruit. However, it never occurred to me to add chia seeds--great call Umpqua! The sugar content versus fiber makes this a tasty, healthy breakfast! I would definitely recommend this oatmeal to my friends.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this oatmeal. It is perfect for someone who is trying to loose weight because it really keeps you full. I bring mine to work and fill it with water from the hot water tap on the water cooler (works perfectly). This oatmeal is an easy breakfast or snack for someone that doesn't have a lot of time to plan/pack a lunch/snack.

Quaker Instant Oatmeal Value Pack Maple Brown Sugar, 27.3 oz, 2 pk

Quaker Instant Oatmeal Value Pack Maple Brown Sugar, 27.3 oz, 2 pkI BOUGHT THIS OATMEAL BECAUSE THE PICTURES SHOWS IT IS THE QUAKER CLASSIC RECIPE AND IT IS NOT. I HAD TO SEND IT BACK BECAUSE I CAN NOT EAT THE NEW OATMEAL DUE TO STOMACH PROBLEMS.

My family loves the classic recipe and I can't find it in our local markets anymore. The new Maple and Brown Sugar taste and smells like burnt carmel corn and you can't get the smell out of the kitchen. Anyway so glad I found this, it will keep me stocked for a little while.
