Post Shredded Wheat Lightly Frosted Spoon Size Cereal

The previous "Frosted Shredded Wheat" made by Post---until last year, unfortunately---was much better...frosted on one side and not the other (like Kellogs' version). This new "Lightly Frosted" version isn't nearly as good, even though the sugar content is the same as before. It just doesn't pack the same punch when the sugar is coated around the whole biscuit.

Still not a bad cereal, but I don't reach for it on the shelf quite as often now.

I love this cereal, easy to eat out of the box. Sweet but not too sweet and very crunchy. Since Frosted Mini Wheats have gelatin in them they are not an option for vegans or vegetarians, these are the best replacement.

Post's Shredded Wheat isn't really what's pictured on the box. Instead of a block of wheat with one side frosted and one side not, it's a block of wheat that's very lightly frosted all over. This isn't necessarily bad, but because the layer of frosting completely surrounds the block, it makes it more tough/crunchy than what I'm used to. The shreds of wheat are also a little more compacted than Frosted Mini Wheats it's a little harder to chew if you're eating it plain without milk, but will stay crunchy a little longer if you eat it with milk. Despite the full coating of frosting, it isn't overly sweet. All in all, it definitely wasn't bad, but I probably won't buy it again in the future. Try a box before ordering the pack of 4 like I did!

This cereal is a big hit in our household. Don't know if the "Lightly Frosted" is misleading or not but this is pretty sweet. Nice texture and very yummy. My only complaint is that I can't stop with just one bowl and others in the house who will remain nameless sometimes stash a box in their truck for road snacking.

Bavarian Breads Whole Grain, Gluten Free, 17.6-Ounce (Pack of 6)

I miss my old rye and pumpernikle breads, from pre-gluten free days. This bread tastes great, very firm texture, really needs a bit of heating up before you eat it, either a few seconds in the toaster or microwave. Use a knife to separate the slices as they are very well packaged so they compress together a bit. Very thinly sliced. Somewhat crumbly. But I love it!

I love this bread! For someone who really needs to stay away from gluten, this bread tastes great! I do really well with it. Those who dont need to stay away from gluten like it as well. I think you will enjoy it!

Food For Life Ezekiel 4:9 Organic Sprouted Grain Cereal, Cinnamon Raisin, 16-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

I love Ezekiel products. No flour=no fat gain. I use Ezekiel for bodybuilding because they make the most nutritional grains that provide sustained energy with a minimal insulin response, and of course they are a reputable ALL NATURAL company. Flour containing products are not as healthy and spike insulin (causing fat gain) compared to than sprouted grains, so to me flour has no place in everday diet (occasional desserts are a different story). I don't even have anything to comare Ezekiel to because nothing else I know of is flourless in terms of bread or cereal. Great products! Of course raisin is the best tasting of the cereals in my opinion but the others are fine too. They are a bit pricy, but you really do get what you pay for.

J&D's Bacon Salt Sampler 4-pack

Like so many others, we love bacon but must avoid it for health reasons. So when we heard of this product -and its companion spread, Baconnaise -we ordered every flavor made, for ourselves and for gifts to family and friends, from Amazon and from the company website.

this is the best thing to have when you are stuck on a limited diet. it is exactly bacon flavored, not kind of or sort of, but spot on. a must have for popcorn snackers.

Good stuff! I bought the four pack sampler... Original, Natural, Smoked, and Peppered. The Peppered is my favorite as it has a nice black pepper flavor, but there really isn't a big difference in the flavors that I can tell for the other three. I still really like it and eat all four on about everything I can think of... including popcorn. I do wish that it had a stronger bacon flavor and a more discernible difference in accompanying flavors though.

Some reviews will tell you this is the best spice others will say this is fake tasting. To me and my bacon-loving-wife it's a fair substitute. If you use this "salt" you will get a bacon flavor and you will get a little salt. This product will give you a bacon flavor. The dishes I have used it most in is my baked potato soup. The soup turns orange, but I do get a bacon flavor without having to add bacon. This can be a good substitute when bacon is not around. It will not take the place of bacon in all cooking. The part of the bacon that adds the most flavor is the fat. This can not be mimicked. Also, one of the things bacon adds is texture.

As I have said: good substitute. It's also a good novelty item or something for the in-laws to talk about during supper.

Post Shredded Wheat Honey Nut Cereal, Spoon Size, 20-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)

This is the best shredded wheat cereal. The honey and toasted almond flavor is so much better than all that gross frosting available. I have never been a fan of frosting since I was a kid, but I don't want the plain stuff that much. Thanks Amazon for having it available. I thought they discontinued it because I was no longer seeing it at the local grocery stores.

Not only do the kids & I love the hint of honey taste, but we know it's a good source of fiber and nutrition! The spoon-size is great for us older guys! We also like to snack on it after school, watching tv, and as a night time snack! Sometimes we add some m&m's and raisins and put it in baggies and bring it to our kids' soccer games!

King Arthur Flour Pancake Mix, Gluten Free, 15-ounces

i didn't think there was any product out there that could surpass arrowheadmills' gluten free pancake mix, but i've been proven wrong.

this buttermilk pancake mix is absolutely wonderful. it's light, fluffy and soft and just so delicious.

there is no off flavor at all-it's just like normal tasting pancakes but even better because it's gluten free!!!

i got it at whole foods and i was excited to get it here in bulk but they don't have it in stock-poopey!

i'm going to hustle to go back and get a few even though it's pricey over there-it is just that good!!

i used an entire box the other morning for my three kids (i just had a little piece and i wanted more) and we couldn't get enough.

hope to stock up soon again

I was pleasantly surprised to see amazon finally have it in stock, unfortunately, I'm pretty disappointed that it's priced at $8.15, while Wild by Nature has it for $5.99 and Whole Foods is around that price as well. Oh well, thought I could have ordered in bulk. Guess I'll have to make the trips to the specialty stores after all.

Now I notice amazon reduced the price to $5.12, however, I still get it cheaper at the specialty grocery stores because I buy it in bulk-when you buy an entire box that has at least 6-8 of these you get a discount and in the end each box comes out a little less than five dollars.

In regards to one review that complained about the middle of the pancake batter not cooking, it's most likely because the mix was made too thick. This gluten free mix is really, really good and I've tried it in many different ways, with coconut milk, almond milk, no matter what I do, it comes out beautiful and cooked through and through. I have nothing to gain about pushing this product, I'm a regular mom of three, but I know the struggle of providing nice "normal" tasting foods for your family when you can't have gluten in your diets. This mix is worth the try and if it's not cooking well, which I never have a problem with, then just add a bit of water to thin it out and also watch that the heat isn't too high or else the outside will cook faster than the inside (this is common advice for regular pancake mix as well).

I'm not sure why this mix is so well-rated. Because of these very reviews I enthusiastically tried it, following the instructions carefully. My first clue should have been the cloyingly sweet smell when stirring the batter. It tastes like cake-mix gone bad. Not at all like pancake. Truly disappointed. Ah well, at least there's Udis breads as a GF consolation.

We used King Arthur flours happily for many years before being diagnosed with Celiac; but we have to say that their gluten-free pancake mix apart from being nice and fluffy was disappointing, for the following reason: the presence of what can only be described as an artificial, chemical-tasting flavor. When we checked the list of ingredients, we found the dreaded "natural flavors" lurking there! We are disappointed that a company such as King Arthur, known for its authenticity, wouldn't go the extra mile and either a) leave out any unnatural ingredients; or b) use genuinely natural vanilla extract, or whatever. It's back to Bob's Red Mill for us!
