Special K Protein Meal Bar, Honey Almond, 6-Count Bars (Pack of 6)
I tend to have quick breakfasts on the run before work in the mornings, so I often rely on quick, easy foods like bars. However, I avoid traditional breakfast bars, which tend to be high in sugar and have little-to-no protein. Rather, I want something that is going to start my day with a better nutritional value AND contain a decent amount of protein to keep me feeling full longer. The other problem is that it's breakfast--I don't want chocolate! Maybe true chocoholics eat chocolate at any time of the day, but I prefer something a bit more appropriate to the morning hours.So, after Slim-Fast changed their bars on me (loved their old Oatmeal Raisin Optima bars, but really don't like the new version), I decided to try these meal replacement bars by Special K in Honey Almond. First of all, when I checked out the box, these bars met my nutritional requirements. They have 10 grams of protein, which is almost as much as some bars specifically billed as protein/energy bars. They are a good source of fiber as well, with 5 grams. Also, the sugar is relatively low at 12 grams (just over 2 teaspoons). Finally, although the fat content is a bit higher than I would have liked (6 grams), these bars contain only 2.5 grams saturated fat (no trans fat), so most of the fat is probably healthy fats from the almonds.
Of course, the final test of these bars is the taste: they are yummy! They are chewy, with a pleasant almond-y flavor that is not too sweet (an unfortunately problem that I've found with so many bars I have tried). These have become one of my new breakfast staples, and I definitely recommend them.
I've tried most of the meal replacement bars out there and Special K's versions are, hands down, the best. This one is one of their best efforts to date. Goes great with a cup of coffee! :)

Just bought these on sale to try them out and i'm in love with them! When it comes to protein bars, I usually don't by that type stuff because I'm not a huge fan of that protein...chalky taste some bars and shakes have. I tried the chocolate chip one and it was so good! Then I saw these & was a little indifferent to buying them because it looked like a cereal bar. And I'm not going to lie, I think the special K cereal bars, Nutri Grain, and a lot of the other cereal bars I've tried are soooooo sweet. Way to sweet for me. But these aren't! They're delicious only lightly sweet :) It's just a huge plus that they're packed with protein so I stay full longer. Bars arrived on time and what I ordered.Overall, not too bad on taste. The only knock I have is that the almond flavoring, which I love, is not more pronounced.
Otherwise, good value for the price.

It's good, it's pretty good, the wife loves them, my kids love them. But chocolate Peanut butter is cheaper and tastes better.

It's hard, sometimes, to believe advertisements on TV. But believe me, this IS a great-tasting cereal! If you like honey and/or sweetness, (but not the "cloying" kind), you will definitely love this cereal. I love honey bunches of oats cereal! It never gets old and it tastes so good! It's much better than sugary cereal like frosted flakes or fruity loops and stuff like that. This cereal has whole grain in them, more so than the other cereals with lots of sugar. This comes out over a dollar more than most grocery stores around the DC area! Not worth it! It's a great cereal but if you have a coupon or a sale, better to just stock up at target or grocery store.

It arrived today. Delivery was extremely slow. The muffins seem quite good although I have eaten only one.My disappointment was in the flour used. It is a very fine flour and so the muffin bites and chews more like a cake than a real muffin.

The muffins are good. I simply can't enjoy them because not a single one of them remained intact.Maybe they could have been packed a little better, but i doubt it would have made much of a difference. Lesson learned; i will no longer buy such fragile items from the internet.
Buy these muffins in a store where you can check them and make sure they're not broken, and can keep them safe in your car until they get to your kitchen.

I did try microwaving it, but, after several messy explosions due to winging the amount of water instead of measuring properly, I went back to making it the old-fashioned way by boiling water in a kettle.

I bought these for my husband and just tasted a tiny piece. I don't like sweets or any energy bar I've ever tasted. But these are fantastic. They taste very natural and not too sweet. I usually have a half bar in the afternoon between lunch and dinner. They are expensive but I think they're worth it. Great ingredients and fresh tasting. I love the cranberry bar best. Starbucks Veranda Blend Blonde K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig Brewers
I have a Keurig in the office for guests (and myself) but I learned that most of my guests prefer a lighter roast than I do. After tasting the Veranda Blend, I found it was light, but very aromatic and you could still add sugar and cream and it was very similar to a good restaurant coffee. So when supplying choices of blends for guests, I'm including Veranda as a milder blend for those who don't like French Roast or Sumatra or other bold blends. I find that there is a bit of woodiness, but also a slight flavor of nuts and cocoa. It's a pleasant blend of coffee and a very good cup if you don't want something awfully strong. Some lighter roasts are acid to me, but this one seems to be balanced.

Brewed on the 10 oz. setting on my Keurig Platinum brewer, the first thing I noticed was the very nice, enticing aroma. Could this possibly be the perfect K-cup? I had to have a sip before I even sat down. In that first sip I tasted some strength, some choclate and nutty overtones, followed by a smoothness I don't typically find in a Starbucks blend.For the most part I don't drink Starbucks for several reasons. First and foremost, they tend to over roast their beans and the result is an overly strong and somewhat bitter brew. This Veranda Blend "Blond" brew isn't roasted so darkly and finally I can taste the real flavors in the coffee. This coffee actually reminds me of what a good "Donut Shop" coffee used to taste like; before everything became darkly roasted. But I stray... The first sip as I said was very inviting with lots of interesting flavors and a lively yet balanced acidity. As the coffee cooled in my cup the flavor changed a little. It became more woodsy and earthy but with a bit more acidity. Still a good cup that comes close to my favorite K-cup, Millstone's Fog Lifter. Foglifter is a blend of both dark and light roasts in which the flavor doesn't change as the cup cools, the first sip is as good as the last. The acidity is always balanced whereas with this Veranda Blend the acidity becomes slightly more pronouncd.
I usually prefer a light to medium roast in the morning and throughout the day. In the evening I like to relax with a darker roast or better yet with a real espresso (which sadly cannot be made in a Keurig). My verdict for the Veranda Roast is that it will fill the bill for my everyday coffee if and when the Millstone Foglifter either isn't available at a reasonable price or is out of stock.
The price you pay for this good Veranda Roast is, well, the price, and this is my reason for the deduction of a star. Starbucks has long been priced higher than other coffees and the Veranda is no exception. This is only a 16-count box which means we're paying right at a dollar a cup. At the Keurig website I can buy Foglifter for around sixty-two cents per cup when it is in stock. Am I being cheap? Maybe. I just don't find Starbucks to be worth the extra money just to have the brand name.

After trying this new roast at the store and loving it, I was thrilled when I was offered a free sample of the k-cups to try on my office machine.Same as the store brew, mellow taste (to me that means no burnt after taste) and a high caffeine hit. I am not a coffee aficionado so I cannot tell you about the cocoa or toasted nutty flavors that they tout. What I can say, is that if you are looking for a simple blend that will give you the morning or afternoon kick that you need without leaving an acid stomach burn, try this coffee.
Yes, it is expensive as compared to brewing your own coffee from store bought beans in your Mr. Coffee, but that is the point. You are brewing a fresh cup in the comfort of your own home without having to get out of your fuzzy slippers or in some cases, brushing your teeth.
Treat yourself to a luxury and stop complaining.

I was at Wal Mart today and compared pricing. $1.83 a box for 12.2 oz. It was around $2.80 at Wal-Mart for 18 oz in their store brand. So the real deal is slightly cheaper and shows right up at the door. Can't beat it. I wish the prices were as good on other cereal on Amazon.As a bonus, these boxes came with a Spider-Man movie ticket promotion. So I ordered more to get free tickets for my family via the promotion. Consider that, the cereal was almost free.

This was my first food purchase through Prime and I LOVE Apple Jacks! I was thrilled when they arrived because I did not realize that these were the bigger boxes. Later that night I went to have a bowl...a big bowl...I took the first bite and thought that something was off. They were OK, but I could tell they were not fresh. I went to check the expiration date and all three boxes expire on Jan 25, 2013....I did not even receive them until Dec 5th! That explains why they are not as good as the ones in the store. I saw some other reviews and no one else seemed to have that problem. I use jar foods when I am on the go or if I did not have time to leave the babysitter food. I made a majority of my twins food from scratch using the baby bullet, a chopper or just by mashing it. Now that my twins are 11months they have been eating table food. I was excited to see that Earth's best made Stage 3 foods.Unfortunately, this Particular Stage 3 option (Earth's Best Junior Baby Food Organic Chunky Orchard Fruit, 6-Ounce Jars) is not Stage 3 quality. It is very thin comparable to the Stage 2 food. It does have a few small tiny tiny pieces of fruit in it but nothing compared to the other stage 3 thicknesses. Seeing as my twins are used to have bigger thicker pieces of food they eat the food off the spoon so quickly.
As with all Earth's best I love the quality of the food and my twins love the taste. However, I would not have purchased if I knew it would be so thin.

I love Earth's Best and I was a little weary of ordering it online. But, everything was great and just what I would expect from this brand. I do have to say that it was not as chunky as I thought it would be.
