Dr. McDougall's Right Foods Non-Dairy Hot Cereal, Organic Apple Cinnamon, Oatmeal & Wheat, 2.3-Ounc

Dr. McDougall's Right Foods Non-Dairy Hot Cereal, Organic Apple Cinnamon, Oatmeal & Wheat, 2.3-Ounce CupsThis breakfast is absolutely delicious, however it is more along the lines of a snack and not so much a complete breakfast. For me that doesn't work as I'm on the go with school, work, and a family. Throw in a bannana or some other protein with this and it becomes complete. But this is not a 1 stop shop for a complete breakfast.

AMAZING FLAVOR!

Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars, 12 Count Box

Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars, Pecan Crunch, 12-Count Boxes 1.5 Oz BarsThese bars are very tasty. And I got a low sales price so they were much less overpriced than such bars usually are. But I consider them to be more like slightly-less-sweet cookies than like health bars -not that there's anything wrong with that. They come two thin ones per pouch, so though you get 72 total, there are only 36 pouches. And most people would consider one pouch to be one serving, so you're getting 36 servings here, not 72. Also, the bars are extremely crumbly so I suggest having something underneath when you eat them to catch all those crumbs (or have a cordless vacuum handy if you eat these in the car).

Like most of us I bought these for a snack. Great for emergency snack to at 160 calories for 2 bars(2bars in one envelope).

These bars taste great as most of the reviews agree.

The APPLE CRISP is my favorite flavor!

GREAT VALUE: 6 Boxes for $16.5 with subscribe and save. Each box has 6 packets with 2 bars. So, 6 boxes of 6 packets per box = 36 packets = 46 cents per pack of 2 bars. Delivered to your door!

Basic Nutrition (1 packet of 2 bars): Total fat 6 of 42 grams. Zero cholesterol. 11 of 42grams are sugar. 140mg sodium. Protein 3 of 42grams. Dietary fiber 2 of 42grams. Protein 4 of 42grams. These won't hurt you and they do not replace a good well balanced meal.

Crunchy: These can be messy to eat. When you take a bar out of the packets, crumbs fall out. I solved this by pulling both bars out of the packet over a sink or trash can. Shake loose all the crumbs then put them back in the packet. Problem solved.

For those that think these are too crunchy. Try: break off a piece and leave it in your mouth less than one minute then chew. I do this and it works great!

I also have the chocolate and they are very good, but this is my favorite

Enjoy, I do.

I've had to order off Amazon now because our local stores--Publix, WinnDixie, SweetBay, Target, and WalMart--no longer carry this flavor. Maple and Brown Sugar is the best flavor and I don't know why it isn't easily available. The shelves at the store have two or three rows devoted to peanut butter, but nary a slot for the M&B flavor. A pity, because it is the best of the crunchy bars.

The grandchildren really like them and so do the adults. The bars are great snacks and healthy. They have a touch of sweetness and you can't go wrong with pecans. They make a good after school snack with a glass of milk.

My favorite Nature Valley bar flavor is peanutbutter. I saw the pecan and decided to try them. These are my second favorite flavor! They arrived fresh, crunchy and well packaged. If you like granola bars and pecans, you will LOVE these.

Danish Orchards Preserves, Strawberry, 4-Pound

Danish Orchards Preserves, Strawberry, 4-PoundI once ordered a 4-pack of this jam a couple of years ago and was very pleasantly surprised by its rich, natural flavor (with big chunks of strawberries in it). I've been waiting and watching for Amazon to make it available again, and now I'm a monthly subscriber. I haven't been able to find this item locally, so my Amazon subscription is the only way to obtain it. I highly recommend this jam. It's about 25% more expensive than Smuckers strawberry jam (which is pretty good), but I feel it's worth the extra money because Smuckers is a bit syrupy (and doesn't have actual chunks of strawberries in it) compared to this jam. It's also "shelf-stable", which means you don't have to refrigerate it after opening. The tub is reusable, too, with a pop-on lid so that you can store small items in it (I have an assortment of nails and screws in my old containers).

The only problem I have with this product is the way Amazon ships it. I've purchased this item six or seven times now, and three of those times, at least one tub has been ruptured. I've called Amazon each time and requested a partial refund or replacement for the ruptured tubs (and of course Amazon gave it to me). I would suggest that Amazon find a better way to pack these tubs--they just don't travel well via UPS.

But for the product itself: five stars!

The package arrived in a mess. Jam dripping from the box. My dog loved the clean-up. The carton was exactly as pictured, but should have been shrink-wrapped. It was simply laid on its side with packing tossed in the box and off it went. The trip was too much for it....and it popped open and spilled out into the bottom of the box......and leaked out of the packing box. A total mess. But, in true Amazon style, I was given a refund and an apology for the inconvenience. After the sticky clean up....and my refund.....it turned out fine and Mama-Dog loved all the cleaning of the driveway and the garage floor and was not the least bit inconvenienced.

This is the best jelly/jam we have ever tasted. We love it but it is hard for us to find to purchase.

The packaging on this item, when received today, had failed. One of the plastic tubs partially opened in transit, resulting in strawberry preserves all over the contents of the box. It also has a 'best used before', date of 1/27/13 on the label. I just got the package on the 15th of February. Disappointed all around. However, it's good tasting stuff! Just needs better packaging.

At $10 for 4lbs and great reviews, I really wanted to like this. However when the shipment arrived, there were leaked strawberry preserves everywhere.

Post Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds Cereal, 2 24 oz Bags inside the 48-Ounce Box

Post Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds Cereal, 2 24 oz Bags inside the 48-Ounce BoxI was not very pleased with my purchase from this kind of advertisement either.

If anyone were to look at the ad, it is even worse now, compared to when I ordered. It states, Copied and pasted from this ad:

Product Features

Pack of three Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds 48 ounce boxes that each contain two 24oz bags.

THIS CLEARLY SHOWS A PACK OF THREE, not one. Something is wrong when this is left unchecked, and nothing done when someone writes in.

While I love my Amazon.com account, this no doubt makes me a bit unhappy.

I hope that Amazon gets this straightened out ASAP so no one else gets taken for a ride.

This item is for 6.99 at Costco and I thought I was getting 2 boxes with a total of 96oz. This sucks!

Tried almost all the cereals but this is the best. The tast is good, texture is good, less sugar. The best thing is I do not have my acidity when I eat this but when I eat others cereals then I have to take the acidity tablet.

Bobo's Oat Bars All Natural, Chocolate, 3-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12)

Bobo's Oat Bars All Natural, Chocolate, 3-Ounce PackagesBobo's are avabilable at my local organic market and I love them. For a few cents cheaper, and free shipping, I ordered them from Amazon. Alas, the produce that arrived had passed it Best By date by two months! What a disappointment. I guess I'm better off paying full price for a fresh product. And naturally food items are non-returnable, even when they are listed as "new" but arrive "old"!!!

All of us love the Bobo Bars! When we've hiked and camped, Bobo's have always been along for the ride. They are the perfect on-the-go nutritional meal replacement choice. It's like having a bakery in your pack!

These oat bars were satisfactory and filling. I would have preferred a healthier oat bar, but I would order them again.

I've purchased 4 boxes of Bobo's Oat Bars in the Chocolate variety from Amazon in the past month. An acquaintance had told me how delicious they were, so I took a chance and purchased my first box before I embarked on a trip, planning to take some along for the journey. Unfortunately for my wallet, every person but one to whom I gave a bar loved these, so I sent some a box to enjoy. Prior to my first purchase, I did not realize these are soft, sort of brownie like in texture, a little sweet in a molasses sort of way (no molasses in the recipe, though), crumbly, and with two servings in a single bar. Fortunately, I placed a bar in a small resealable plastic bag for the airplane trip, so I was able to break off a little piece any time I felt hungry. That bag was a saving grace because when a bar was gone, I replaced it with another and you won't believe how often I pulled out that little bag. I ordered the first box as a gift after I put a little bite into my father's mouth while he was busy enjoying himself at a slot machine and I realized that he needed to keep these on hand for him and Mom to have on the days they go out. For those who have few teeth, these are edible because of the soft texture, yet they provide an enjoyable flavor. Hiker's took these along for a day trip, not worrying about the double serving per package, happily eating the entire bar. As they put it, they felt like they had a brownie along for the trek, much more enjoyable than other bars they'd taken in the past. One sister has enjoyed these on days when she's been unable to break for lunch at work, having them with coffee or tea and some deep breaths. Without eggs, butter or flour, they are terrific, even though Earth Balance has never been my favorite flavor. I'll admit that I was expecting a firmer bar with visible chocolate chips, but after the surprise of a crumbly moist baked good with a not very sweet cocoa flavor, I was hooked. I will gladly try the other varieties when I can find them for a lower cost than over two dollars per bar. A retail value of about thirty dollars is too high for a dozen bars, so I've deducted a star from this review. The one friend who did not love her Bobo's Oat Bar thought it tasted like cardboard and she claimed to have forced it down at work. She loves the SOYJOY bars which I do not care for, so I guess the world is balanced.

Want Bobo's Oat Bars All Natural, Chocolate, 3-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12) Discount?

"... organic dark chocolate chips (organic sugar, organic chocolate liquor, organic cocoa butter, organic soy lecithin added as an emulsifier, organic vanilla) ..." from the ingredients list, BOBO'S OAT BARS, CHOCOLATE

Several weeks ago, I reviewed Bobo's Oat Bars All Natural, Banana, 3-Ounce Packages (Pack of 12), to which I awarded four stars based on its excellent oat flavor and "mouth feel." However, it suffered the loss of a fifth star because "the ostensible banana taste was so subtle as to be virtually non-existent."

Because I love chocolate, I decided to give Bobo another shot with the chocolate version of her oat snack.

Dark chocolate is on the bar's ingredients list as chips, no less. Buts it's a complete mystery to me where the essence of chocolate is lurking. Moreover, there isn't a chocolate chip in sight; I pulled the bar apart and examined it carefully. Granted, the bar has a darker shade of color than the other ones of the brand I've tried, so that at least implies chocolate is present. And, there's a faint nuance of some other flavor underlying the taste of oats, but, if anything, it's suggestive of molasses.

Mind you, I truly like these bars for the reasons previously stated. And I'll be sure to enjoy the remaining eleven of the dozen "chocolate" ones I purchased. But, as near as I can determine to date with the three types I've eaten, to claim there's any flavor present other than that of oats is a complete fiction and I've had to resist the impulse to award three stars or less for blatantly false advertising.

Eat. Think. Smile. Baked Nutrition Bar, Orange Cranberry, 1.8-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12)

Eat. Think. Smile. Baked Nutrition Bar, Orange Cranberry, 1.8-Ounce BarsCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program These bars are packaged fairly nicely; the individual sleeves have a cool, smooth exterior and a very Trader Joe's friendly design that's gender-neutral and age-appropriate for any adult, though I do not like that the box lays flat and takes up far more space in my pantry than it would if it stood up. But that's unfortunately the nicest thing I can say about them. The texture is on the dry side, and the flavor combination of the special cocoa blend with orange and cranberry ended up tasting very chalky -it would have been improved by being either sweetened more or sweetened less. And the bar, which is quite small, is a whopping 200 calories, 6 grams of fat, and 34 grams of carbohydrates -and with not large quantity of protein or vitamins/minerals to justify it. It may have the antioxidant power of a cup of green tea, but I'd find drinking that cup of tea quite a bit more pleasant (and easier on my waistline).

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Don't the name throw you. "Eat. Think. Smile" isn't the easiest brand to remember, but their baked nutrition bars are certainly memorable in terms of taste. I tried two varieties through the Amazon Vine Program, Oatmeal Raisin and Orange Cranberry, and I loved them both. The bars are soft, chewy, sweet without being sugary, and decently sized (a little bigger than a Clif Bar, perfect for a between meal snack or a before-exercise pick-me-up). Best of all, they were satisfying without being too filling. I was a little doubtful about how the addition of cocoa would affect the flavors, but as it turned out, the cocoa was only detectable as a pleasant undertone and didn't overpower the Oatmeal Raisin or Orange Cranberry.

When deciding whether or not to recommend a food item I have sampled for free, I always ask myself, "Would I actually pay for this product?" In the case of "Eat. Think. Smile" nutrition bars, my answer was a resounding "Yes. I prefer these to some of the other bars I buy at the store." Therefore, I am pleased to be able to recommend them to you. Eat. Think. Smile. And enjoy.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was excited to try this product, as I usually have bars for breakfast, but it is getting harder to find ones that have good nutritional profiles in breakfast-appropriate (i.e., non-chocolate) flavors. I love cranberry, so this bar seemed nearly perfect, especially given that I checked out the nutritional content prior to ordering. At 4 grams, the amount of protein was a bit low for my liking, but the bar made up for this by being low in both sugar (12 grams) and saturated fat (1 gram) while being very high in fiber (7 grams).

The texture of this bar is the first thing that struck me as a bit odd. Although it is moist (i.e., as opposed to hard and crunchy), it is not chewy; in fact, it breaks apart easily and is a bit on the crumbly side. (I suppose it is somewhat similar to a a CLIF brand bar.) The taste, however, was quite disappointing: rather than the tart taste of cranberry or the sweetness of orange, I detected only a bitter flavor. It tasted almost as if the bar had been flavored with the bitter rind of the orange. There did seem to be little fruit pieces in the bar that may have been cranberry, but unfortunately, the unpleasant bitterness overpowered everything else.

I thought the first bar that I tried was just okay, but the second one seemed worse, and now I'm afraid I might have to toss the whole box (which I HATE to do--I hate being wasteful, so I might try dipping them in yogurt or something just to get through them). Perhaps another flavor by this brand would be better, but unfortunately, I can't recommend these.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The Orange Cranberry bars taste very similar to Fig Newtons; however, they are a tad bit chalky. I really liked the soft texture and the cocoa flavoring, but I couldn't taste any of the cranberry orange. I like the size and shape of the bar. It's not too big or small. In terms of nutritional value, I compared it to my preferred Luna bar. The Eat Think Smile bar is 51g and the Luna bar is 48g, so they are almost the same size. The calorie count is comparable (Luna 180 vs. Eat Think Smile 200) and fat content (Luna 5g vs. Eat Think Smile 6g), which is good. Where it falls short is in vitamins. My Luna bar has 20% vitamin A, 20% C, 30% iron, and 30% Vitamin E. The Eat Think Smart Bar has 0% vitamin A, 6% vitamin C , 6% iron, and no vitamin E. I am sticking with Luna.

Want Eat. Think. Smile. Baked Nutrition Bar, Orange Cranberry, 1.8-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12) Discount?

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program There are broadly three types of nutrition bars. One that attempt to emulate baked goods (cookie like), those that emulate candy bars (chewy, chocolatey) , and fruit & nut bars. These fall in the first (baked / cookie) category. In that category it is very tough to get protein content very high, so at 4 grams per serving, these bars do alright. Here is the rundown

200 calories

6 grams fat (1 gram saturated)

34 grams carbs

12 grams sugar

7 grams fiber

So with the decent fiber, and low saturated fat, these are a good choice among the baked/cookie bars. You'll need to supplement your protein intake elsewhere however.

I like the taste, and think the chocolate brings a lot to the game here.

The consistency is generally OK when eaten fresh out of the box, but if you throw these in a bag and they get any rough treatment you will be eating crumbles.

These are a good choice. However if you are carb conscious I would instead recommend Kind Fruit and Nut Bars Kind Plus Protein, Almond, Walnut and Macadamia 12 1.4 oz (40g) Bars (fruit and nut category) or Betty Lou's Almond Butter High Protein Balls, Gluten Free, 1.75-Ounce Packages (Pack of 18) ("candy bar" category)

Spiced Tomato Jelly

Spiced Tomato JellyI was given a homemade version of this and was excited to find it commerically. Unfortunately it came in a liquid state. Disappointing.

I bought the Tomato Preserves as well but that does not have the same flavor as this. This is more "country" and completely unique in taste. This on a grilled cheese sandwich is pure heaven. I like both tomato jam products for different reasons but the flavor of this one is amazing. I would buy this in bulk and give it to friends as gifts. That is how good it is. It is made for cheese, for sandwiches, it is a perfect brunch item. I love Barry Farm products and will order in the future.
