Hot Cereal Enjoy Like Oatmeal

Hot Cereal Enjoy Like Oatmealtaste combination between oatmeal and cream of wheat.... just added lc brown sugar countdown low carb milk, butter and it was great.....

This in no way resembled oatmeal to me. It was more like a gritty cream of wheat. No amount of cream, butter, nuts or anything made this edible for me. I was very disappointed because I love oatmeal and this was a very expensive 2 spoonful meal!( that's all I could eat).

I am a huge fan of this hot cereal, and I buy it by the bucketload. A serving of the cereal, with a pat of butter, some sweetener, a pinch of salt (my secret ingredient), a few berries, and some nuts, makes for a delicious breakfast that doesn't spike my blood sugar, and is terrifically filling. It's not beautiful -the chia seeds in the mix make for a....uh, call it an unlovely consistency -so I wouldn't be feeding it to guests, but the taste is great, and I am big-time picky.

SoLo Gi Mint Mania Bars, 1.76-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12)

SoLo Gi Mint Mania Bars, 1.76-Ounce BarsI love the Mint Mania SoLo Bar! The low glycemic quality works well with my metabolism; I get an even energy that lasts. Great for a quick breakfast, for an energy boost before a long workout, or anytime you're hungry and need something to hold you over before a meal. I think the flavor of the Mint Mania SoLo bar is the best I've tasted; not too sweet, great chocolate, and perfectly minty. And it has a pleasing mouth feel; smooth and satisfying. This is by far the best energy bar I've ever tasted. Try it!

Beside the fact that even a diabetic can possibly enjoy these, and they are a good energy bar without a sugar spike etc. They also taste quite yummy. the texture is somewhat like a cake brownie, and the mint is sort of mild like an Andes mint. Not real strong. The choco flavor is like a dark chocolate. I love the fact that it is supposed to help keep ones energy up and cravings down. Haven't eaten enough to vouch for this yet, but we went ahead and subscribed for this and the peanut flavor for the monthly shipments to gain the extra discount. Figured we couldn't go wrong.

I was so pleased when Amazon decided to carry as a subscribe and save item these wonderful-tasting, low carb bars. This is a great product for Type 1, 2 and gestational diabetics as well as those looking to eat yummy food without worrying about the carbs or the chemicals that low-carb snacks are often made with. These are great!

I am normally not over the moon about nutrition bars, but Solo GI has me there! I love all the flavours, but this one tops them all it reminds me of the Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookies... I look forward to my preworkout snack more and more these days, it tastes so good it must be sinful!

South Beach Diet Meal Bar, Chocolate Peanut Butter, 5-Count (Pack of 8)

South Beach Diet Meal Bar, Chocolate Peanut Butter, 5-CountI used to buy these regularly at BJs in a multi pack box, but then they stopped carrying SB products. The chocolate peanut butter ones were always my favorite. I haven't been able to find them for a long time so when I saw them on Amazon, I jumped on them:) Eagerly awaiting their delivery.

I hope they travel well, as when I purchased a box of Atkins bars, the chocolate looked as if it had been left in too high a temperature and was all discolored.

I will update the review when they arrive.

They just arrived today, and I'm sooooo disappointed. They're not at all as I remember. Left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. They're not made by Kraft anymore, either. Even the texture is different. They used to be nice and crispy, but now they're just odd.

I have 39 more of these to go:(

These are not the old SB bars we came to love. I was so excited to see these back on shelves...until I tried them. They are not crispy like a PB rice crispy treat anymore. They are not sweet nor crispy. They are just disappointing.

I love these bars! They taste great and I eat them all the time for breakfast. The only problem is that they have become hard to find. Thank goodness for Amazon. It you want a low carb option which tastes good, try them.

I've been dieting with the Slim Fast 3-2-1 Program for a month now with pretty good results, but I heard that I would get even better results on this plan so I decided to try these bars since I love peanut butter and chocolate. They taste awful. I know that no matter what people say, diet food will never taste as good as regular food but at least it should be palatable. It doesn't taste anything like peanut butter or chocolate, it's more grainy than crunchy, and it leaves this weird after taste in my mouth. I think I will be switching back to Slim Fast, at least I actually enjoy their products.

I used to purchase the South Beach Bars from Amazon.com before on an automatic shipping program. Then they went away for a year or so. I was surprised when I recently saw them back on the product list. So I snatched an order up and am pleasantly surprised that they are basically the same as before for me a good thing! I will check the prices locally first, but if they are comparable, I will definately purchase them again from Amazon. Thanks

Sunrise Whole Grain 100% Natural Energy Bars with Omega-3

Sunrise Whole Grain 100% Natural Energy Bars with Omega-3This product is sold only at Costco. The seller must be buying these at their local Costco (where they're only $10) and reselling them here. Nice...

These are SO GOOD. I just bought my first tub and am RIPPING through them. I try to keep from getting in too many carbs, but these are like potato chips it's hard to eat just one! They're not real sweet, which is why I don't get sick of them after one bar/cookie (what are they, exactly?). They have a great texture, and except for the flour* (second ingredient), they're awesome in terms of natural, farmer's market-esque ingredients. Whole oats, cranberries (a "superfood"), raisins, apricots, apples, almonds, walnuts (a superfood), flax seeds (almost nothing better for you than omega-3s), sunflower seeds, and then the oils and other baking-type ingredients at the bottom of the pile. I have to "third" that emotion about the reseller, that if you can find them, buy these tubs at Costco for cheap. If not, buy 'em here you won't regret it.

And look, if you're like me and sit at a desk all day and need to eat a healthy snack, round these out with a protein-dense snack as well. The Ostrim Ostrich sticks are awesome essentially beef jerky, but without all the salt, fat and other disgusting mystery meat. 14g of protein per stick, a nice way supplement a snack of these energy bars and not feel like you're tipping the protein/carb balance in your diet. Over 40 states now have over 7% rates of diabetes make sure you're striking the right balance. Grams of carbs add up fast. Make no mistake, these bars are carbs with but a tiny smidgen of protein.

* Note: the truth is that flour is flour though whole grain barley flour like they use here is PACKED with nutrients but from a glycemic index standpoint, barley flour might as well be Wonder Bread...or so I've read. Hey, that rhymed. However, the flour here is a necessity and I wouldn't have them change them ONE BIT, as it's what makes them so soft and cookie-ish in terms of mouth-feel, rather than like a dense granola bar.

Agreed with the above comment that these Sunrise Energy Bars are sourced from Costco...though I wish Amazon would offer these for the wider online market shopping customer.

Btw, these are now individually packed at around 30 per package at your neighborly Costco. I usually go through 2 packages of these a month and are priced just right for it's healthy benefits.

Packed with healthy ingredients, O3FA and fiber...I consume 3-4 bars each morning and I have enough energy and concentration at work with lotsa walking involved (nurse at hospital unit). This replaced my work booster coffee habits..and even helped me lower my blood pressure, lose weight and maintain my now healthy levels of cholesterol.

These are my god-send breakfast-to-go! Thank You, Sunrise!!

2012 Powerbar Performance Bars - Box (12 Bars)

PowerBar Energize Fruit Smoothie Bar Creamy CitrusI am an endurance athlete who does long distance events. Powerbars are a staple of my pre and post-workout fueling regime. They are calorie dense (250 per bar) and combine protein and carbs (40 g. carbs, 8g protein) which the current research says is most optimal for performance. You are feel "full" during your training without discomfort or cramps. Plus, I just like the way they taste, but they all taste similar. Avoid the berry varieties and fruit flavors:) The downside of the bars is that they are not for "on the run"--they are rather chewy and need to be well digested. They also get hard in the cold, so do not bring with you on runs in the winter:)

Dieters, beware: these bars are not for weightloss, but performance. 250 calories is about the equivalent amount of calories in a donut, so make sure you're working out, too:)

Disappointed. Did not expect to receive expired product from Amazon. PowerBar food product arrived with product expiraton date four (4) months expired. Am returning product to Amazon. As usual, with Prime, shipping was fast and returns are easy (but irritating). From now on I'll consider non-food items only. PowerBar product is good, when fresh.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've always had a bit of an issue with PowerBars: they look like someone has poured a chewed granola bar into a packet and sealed it up. If the unopened bar even gets slightly warm, it warps all out of shape. So when you open the pack, you get this weirdly shaped bar of stuff. Even so, this new Fruit Smoothie bar, while not overly attractive looking, tastes pretty much like a fruit smoothie surprisingly enough. PowerBar did a good job of hiding that usual "protein bar" taste with these. The texture is a little strange and the calories are a little high, but if you can get over the weird sensation your tongue will get and use the bar as a meal replacement, then these bars a pretty dang good.

I am a long distance cycler. I have tried a lot of energy bars and most work very well but taste... well not so much. This bar is softer so it is easier to chew while riding, and it is smooth, so you don't have to suck down your precious water supply just to choke it down. I love both the Pineapple and Berry flavors. Highly recommended.
