I recently purchased the Carnation no added sugar drinks, the "with sugar" version, a 4 pack of Kellogg's version as well. Decided to test drive them all. Label comparison puts Carnation's no sugar added breakfast drink on top. A third the carbohydrates as all the others, fewer calories by far, same vitamin content basically, and Carnation's no sugar version came out nicely on protein. And, here's the surprise, it tastes really good. So why down 20g more carbs, less protein and a lot more calories with Kelloggs or Carnation's sugared version, when this is available. Yum.

Have found this to be a great tasting additional source of easy protein in my hectic day. The screw on resealable cap is very convenient for me if I don't finish it in one sitting.

I am a very picky eater which seriously limits my protein intake. My trainer, yoga instructor, and physician both recommend that I start drinking a protein nutrition drink. Of course, being a purist perfectionist I set out on a quest to find the "best" drink on the market. I literally tried everything, including every powder mix. Oh, I also forgot to mention that I am a "super taster" (lucky me). I have long since deduced that when looking for nutrition bars or meal replacements, go straight to the brands that have been making unhealthy options first. They know what they are doing when it comes to making something taste good. Take EAS nutrition bars versus Snickers nutrition bars. Snickers is in the good taste business and they know how to engineer a tasty treat. For them it is taste first then nutrition chemistry, whereas EAS is chemistry first and taste second. EAS nutrition bars don't even need to be taken out of their packaging to be eaten, since there would be no noticeable difference in taste. Same for this drink, Carnation has been making Instant B'fast forever (at least since the Stone Age when I was a kid) and they know what tastes good. Regardless of the stats, what makes this drink the winner of my taste quest is that it really tastes like chocolate milk. Just to mention a few items, it has "no sugar added" which means that it only has the natural milk sugars...it is NOT sugar free. It is a reasonable 150 calories, whereas most protein drinks are well over 200 (which is a plus for those watching their calories). The bonus is that it provides 13 grams of protein, which makes it competitive with the other drinks on the market.

Purchased this because I fell in love with the regular (yellow bottle) version of this and was buying it in a convenient store at $3/bottle. This version tastes almost the same with no noticeable "sweetener" flavor and saves many calories (due to the lack of sugar, but NOT sugar-free). You may find cheaper in the store (locally was $5.99/4pack while amazon is $22.71/12pack), but the convenience cannot be beat. And my last purchase (March 18, 2012) was good until Jan 2013.

Kashi Brown Maple Instant Oatmeal

The cereal itself is very good. Excellent, natural ingredients, and not too sweet like many of the retail oatmeal packets you get elsewhere.

I just noticed Amazon's small-type disclaimer that you can return the cereal if you're not satisfied with the freshness date. I received it on Feb 3 and it's dated good till March 16. I guess I can use up 2 boxes (16 packets) in 6 weeks, but I shouldn't have to, and returning the cereal is really more trouble than it's worth given the box size, packaging requirements, and need to take it to the post office. Also, if Amazon paid for the postage both ways, they'd lose money on this sale, so why bother?

By the way, I've checked out other Kashi products we've purchased at brick and mortar stores and the expiration dates go out 6 months or more in all cases.

How about Amazon just not ship cereal that's less than, say, three months out from its expiration date?

This Kashi oatmeal smells wonderful as it cooks. I make it with water and microwave it for my daughter. She is a little girl with a severe milk and egg allergy and finding a healthy breakfast that doesn't involve milk or eggs was tough...until we discovered this oatmeal. It has a nice, hearty consistency and a great flavor. For those with a bit of a sweet tooth, a spoon of brown sugar or a drizzle of agave nectar will sweeten it up just wonderfully. A great way to start the day!

I think this cereal tastes okay as cereal, but I like to eat cereals as snacks--right out of the box. This one doesn't work well that way because of the size of the flakes, the fact that they separate from the powdery flavoring, and they stick to your fingers. Of course, you'll probably use hot water with yours. Kashi adds a bunch of vitamins which is nice, but the big hype on oats is overblown. My ex-girlfriend had high cholesterol and calculated how many oat muffins she'd need to get the number down to acceptable--tons of them each day. She's a computer professional & VERY bright--and persistent. The muffins were good too--esp. the smell as they baked. You can't eat enough of this cereal to do the trick. No way. Still, it's a convenient packet & tastes okay.

Well I just heated up my first bowl of Oatfit and was ready for some warm good oatmeal on a cold morning. Unfortunately I had to spit it out after the second bite. It is extra mushy and it leaves an awful after taste. Very artificial and almost bitter. For an extra 60 calories I rather stick with their other lines.

I bought this for a camping trip and would definitely eat it again at home. Unlike everyone else, I do not taste an aftertaste or artificial taste with these. I also used less water than called for so mine isn't mushy when I mix it up. All of the regular-sugar instant oats are mushy IMO, so this product is no better or worse on that score. But zero sugar is wonderful I hate the standard instant oats because you might as well be eating cookies for breakfast. I DO wish this company would ditch the artificial sweeteners and opt for something like stevia. Yes, I do like these but still prefer my home-cooked steel-cut oats or old fashioned oats, but in a pinch these are A-OK.

I've tried many varieties of the the Better Oats oatmeal, and up until this point, most have been exceptional. I had high expectations for the cinnamon roll flavor, but this product is truly terrible. It has a chemical flavor that is not just bad, but overpowering, and no texture to speak of. I couldn't even finish one bowl and threw the rest of the package away.

If you haven't tried Better Oats before, don't start with this one, it will ruin your interest in the others! Try Cinnamon and Spice, Apples and Cinnamon, or Blueberry Muffin varieties. The Blueberry Muffin is heartier and holds up as a meal, and the other are perfect for a sweet snack or light dessert.

Had this first with Pork at My sister in laws in Texas. Oh my it was the best thing I ever tasted.. Hot Pork roast or cold pork roast sandwiches. Came home our store did not carry it so I went on line and ordered it. Next time we went to my sister in laws she servied it with Town crackers and Cream cheese. All the people at the party were just huddled around the cream cheese and the buzz word was emmmm. How great. Came home and now we buy it in bulk. Not too hot just the right amount of heat. This is a great sauce.

If you've not tried this before, strongly recommend. So lovely. i use it to baste meat, cook with vegies, pour over soft cheese and serve with crackers, use as accompaniment on pork, poultry, etc. and even use as salad dressing. It is absolutely YUMMY!

I decided to try this product after hearing very good things about Taylors of Harrogate. Unfortunately this Earl Grey was very disappointing. I cannot be sure if the tea was inherently bad or that it was due to bad packaging. The tea bags were not individually packaged and when I opened the box, there was absolutely no scent of bergamot. The flavors had all but lost due to exposure to air, assuming the flavors were there when the tea was first blended. After steeping, there was a strong bitter taste and a very faint resemblance of an earl grey. The tea was not expired. In fact the expiration date is three years away. It's interesting to speculate what taste it will have by then.
