Kashi Kashi 7 Whole Grain Pilaf ( 12x19.5 OZ)

I love this stuff! Delicious whole grain, easy to fix. I make it in the microwave. I don't think it has any microwave instructions, but I'm prone to burning rice type stuff on the stove. I use twice as much water as pilaf mix, bring to a boil on high. Place glass lid on corningware. Heat on medium heat until all the water is absorbed. Add more water if you want it softer. Times vary according to volume, natch, but usually 10 minute bursts work: 10 minutes high, 10 minutes at 70% or whatever, another 10 minutes at 70%. I like to let it sit covered between the last two ten minutes and after. As long as it's hot and covered it will absorb water. Can't wait to try it in a pressure cooker to get the cook times down, but thus far, I let it cook while I'm making a curry or something else.

Love it! Delicious as is, or add a dollop of butter and garlic and spices.

My whole family LOVES this stuff. I make it with Better than Boullion chicken instead of water and it is so good. I buy a case and freeze. It's also good prepared with water for breakfast, add butter or milk & sugar. yummm...

Kashi makes some fine things, but this "7 Grain Whole Pilaf" is in my opion their best. It is very versatile and easy to prepare, and can even be cooked in a rice cooker. It's great plain as a hot cereal, makes a wonderful pilaf, and a delicious salad. It also makes a great base for vegetable patties or loaf. Just about any dish using a grain base works well. I could make a different dish everyday with it and never tire of it!

This product is my favorite substitution for rice and pasta, and couscous. Yes, it sounds extraordinarily "healthy" (and it is!) but it is also quite tasty and goes with all the same things you would put rice in: soup, casseroles, red-sauced dishes, cold or room-temperature Mediterranean salads, in place of Quinoa, and Wheat-berries. The other unknown and un-advertised feature is that it is a wonderful, painless "Colon stimulator", If you catch my drift. Wonderful, huge, and satisfying 'presentations', if you will!

I order it here because I no longer live in the City, where it is liberally available in local supermarket. This, indeed, was a happy find.

My 5 star rating is for the cereal only. I don't like that Amazon hikes up the price of things.... but alas, this review is for the delicious and healthy snack I found. I actually bought it at Whole Foods and decided to see if I could get a better deal online. Honestly, WF has a better price usually they are pretty pricey. The chocolate flavor is divine, plus the coconut really comes out. I love this stuff... I think I am partial to the Hemp & Greens one but this one is a close second.

Flahavan's oats are delicious, nutritious, and come in several varieties. I discovered this product in Ireland, and am delighted to find it on Amazon! There is plenty of fruit in both this and the Sunrise Fruits version of Flahavan's oats. I make mine with half a cup of milk and half a cup of water for each half a cup of oatmeal (package directions), and it's just delicious. There is enough cinnamon to beautifully flavour the oats without being overpowering, and the apple flavour really complements it perfectly. Lovely oatmeal best I've ever had.

I buy Flahavan's whenever I visit Ireland. It is a great way to start the day especially on a chilly morning. I was pleasantly surprised to find them on Amazon and at a great price with free Prime shipping as well.

You'll never touch Quaker Oats again! I ate this every day while living in Ireland. First and foremost I cut my cholesterol level in half. Second the taste is sensational. I cannot eat Quaker oats every day. It's flat and tasteless. Flahavan's is great with real fruit. I add a little flaxseed, honey and milk for a great healthy breakfast. It's worth it to me to pay the extra to get a great product and one that is essential to my health!

Great tasting though I prefer the 3 cereals. Not as thick as 3 cereals, so it is good when you want that consistency.

I bought this for my 10-month old daughter after trying rice cereal (she hated it!) and giving up a few months back. She instantly loved it. It is a bit sweet but you can adjust how much milk/liquid you mix it with. It was $4.49 at my local supermarket so 6 for $15 on Amazon is definitely a steal!

Cherry Walnut Granola, 1 lb.

I'm not a fan of granola by any means: at least not until now. I have tried making my own on many occasions but the mess, expense, amount of ingredients to keep on hand and the less than satisfactory results have pretty much turned me off. I purchased this product in 3 flavors as a last ditch effort: Cherry Walnut, Almond and Maple Walnut. They arrived together in 2 days, well packaged, fresh and crunchy. Did I mention FLAVORFUL? I am a true convert. This is the best. While I like all 3, my favorite is the Maple Walnut, followed by the Almond and then Cherry Walnut (mostly because the huge dried cherries taste more like golden raisins than cherries, but still very good. I should also mention that while the dried cherries are about the size of the bowl of a teaspoon and look like they are soft and pliable, they are very hard and take a lot of careful chewing, after which they become sticky. I didn't find that texture pleasant). And when the ingredients listed walnuts or almonds, I figured it would be microscopic smooshed up pieces mixed in so small I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a sesame seed and a piece of walnut or almond. BUT, the almonds are large pieces or whole almonds while the walnuts well, the walnuts are planet-sized: sometimes 1/2 of an entire walnut and there are tons of them in a single bag of this granola. The maple walnut is the only one I find a bit on the sticky side, but not like caramel popcorn sticky-just a bit tacky. I've already used this in yogurt, cottage cheese, oatmeal, as a snack in mid afternoon, in salads, pancakes and yesterday morning, I made Bisquick biscuits and added some of all 3 flavors as an experiment. The biscuits were marvelous. Now, if I could only remember WHAT I did so I can make them again with the same success! Try this. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
