Traditional Irish Breakfast

Traditional Irish BreakfastMy husband is an expat from the UK, and had been missing the traditional "fry-up" he could get for breakfast there. I ordered this as a surprise for him. When he tucked into his fry up, he raved about the "proper bacon" and the "proper sausage" just like he would have gotten for himself back home.

Everything was well packed, and the order arrived promptly, with a little brochure about Irish food products and info on how to cook a fry up, for those who need some help.

I am sure we'll be ordering this again, to combat future bouts of homesickness.

I get this and a whole bunch of other food items for my husband every year at Christmas time from foodirelanda huge order of food and it always arrives in perfect condition and nicely packedit's always a nice treat and like the other reviewer, my husband is from Ireland and he really appreciates all of his favorite breakfast items especially during the holidays! Most especially the puddings and the rashers which we can not find in our local store. I like those rashers too, so I make sure I get extra of those. and there is nothing better for your toast than a nice fresh irish butter. foodireland is a great company!

Fixed my husband a full irish breakfast for his birthday. He loved it and said it was as good as the ones he had in Ireland. Enough for two meals for two people.

My daughter visited Ireland a couple of years ago. She loved everything about the country, including the food. I ordered this in November for her as a Christmas gift, not thinking that the items would all be fresh in order to be the best. My fault for not looking closer. I've bought Hickory Farms for years and their stuff is processed to last forever...fresh is better, but when you spend this much for one meal you should be aware that it is not something you can save fresh for a special occasion.

They might want to put a line in the description letting people know the shelf life is not that long. It has to be eaten within a short period after you get it or frozen. Don't order too far in advance for a gift.

Very fast shipping. Everything is as shown. The food arrives fresh, packed in ice. We're having our traditional Irish breakfast on Saturday before Thanksgiving instead of Christmas morning. Everything looks great. I'm sure it will be wonderful.

22 Days Bars, Daily Mocha Mantra, 50 Gram (Pack of 12)

22 Days Bars, Daily Mocha Mantra, 50 GramThis brand provides the best all around vegan protein bars I've tried, and I've tried them all (I think). Great flavors, good to great texture, good nutritional profile... I'll definitely buy again and again.

Sharkies Kids Sports Chews, Tropical Splash, 1.58-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12)

Sharkies Kids Sports Chews, Tropical Splash, 1.58-Ounce BagsCustomer review from the Amazon Vine Program Though the package calls these "sports chews", they're essentially really a candy--certainly not something you'd want to buy as a healthy snack for your child. That said, I think that, as an occasional treat, these are pretty great. It's hard to find candy that isn't chock full of artificial colors, flavors, and high fructose corn syrup. I know this because I'm a compulsive reader of labels, and also someone who's trying to eliminate all artificial ingredients and HFCS from her family's diet. Given that, I'm really happy to be able to add this organic product to the list of infrequent treats I'm willing to give to my children.

The texture of these is much like a gummy. Each shark-shaped chew is dusted with sugar, and comes in a variety of natural flavors. My seven-year-old told me they reminded her of fruit gems, and I think she hit the nail right on the head. They have that same kind of texture, chewy but not as rubbery as gummies can be. The flavors are very nice, and I was frankly a bit surprised that my daughter liked them as much as she did, given that she's been so programmed to gravitate toward the artificial products marketed to kids these days. It can be a challenge to find things with natural flavors that she enjoys, so the fact that she likes these really says a lot to me. I also like them. They're sweet, but not cloyingly so, and fun to chew. The flavors taste like actual fruit instead of like some scientific approximation of what fruit is supposed to taste like.

Though these aren't something I'd give my kids with wild abandon, I am pleased with them and would definitely give them every now and then to the kids as a treat. It's nice to have another item to add to my list of acceptable foods.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This product makes a big show of the fact that it contains no fructose and is "packed with vitamins". It is being marketed as a healthy treat but it is NOT. This is NOT a "sports chew" or healthy snack. It is glorified sugar sprinkled with sugar. The primary ingredient is evaporated cane juice...a type of sugar. This product contains 35 g of carbs and 0 fiber. That means all the carbs are coming from simple sugars. It is essentially a 140 calorie bag of vitamin C. Give your kid an orange or a a glass of orange juice instead. It has no other nutritional value except the added vitamin C which you can get from other sources. As a comparison, Welchs Fruit Snacks Twenty Four 2.25 Ounce Value Box Assortment has 130 calories per service, contains 100% daily value Vitamin C, 25% Vitamin A, 31 g of carbs and 1 g of protein. it doesn't matter if the sugar is "organic." Sugar is sugar and will have the same negative impact.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program First, I would have never bought these simply due to their cost alone. Nutritionally they just don't have anything better than typical gummy treats unless you are hardcore into organic ingredients. They taste ok, but so do just about any brand. Big whoop deal about the vitamin c-others have that additive too. Even in this bulk package of 12 you are going to pay over $1.10 per bag! Any piece of fruit is way better and will cost less. My kids thought they were like a combo of Swedish Fish and Sour Patch Kids (without the sour flavor). They both said they could have gone without the sugar coating and one of them only had a couple pieces then said he didn't want anymore. Neither of them have gone back to the cupboard for more since trying them for the first time at least 2 weeks ago!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My kids found the "Sharkies Kids Sports Chews" to be very tasty. They compare very favorably in taste and texture to other bite-sized fruit snacks.

That being said, I'm not sure what the point to their marketing is other than to confuse parents. Sure they have an organic component and they have added Vitamin C, no matter how small those components may be, but these snacks are LOADED with sugar. In fact they may have MORE sugar on/in them than your generic grocery store fruit snacks. I also haven't figured out the "Sports" part. As far as price, the list price of $18.00 is highway robbery and about 600X's the price of other name-brand fruit snacks let alone the generic brands that are available.

To me, this product is solely produced to take advantage of the growing snooty "buy healthy & organic" crowd out there who are willing and able to pay a higher price to get a product that they feel is better for them and their kids. Unfortunately this product seems to miss the target on all counts save taste and an overpriced taste at that.

As a runner I use these for a quick sugar blast on longer runs. They taste great, are compact enough to carry along, and wash down easily with some energy drink or water. Highly recommended.

ExtendBar, Peanut Butter Crunch, 1.41-Ounce Bars (Pack of 15)

ExtendBar, Peanut Butter Crunch, 1.41-Ounce BarsIf you suffer from blood sugar issues and tend to get dizzy, shaky and sweaty if you don't eat I recommend this bar. It doesn't taste fantastic but it will help regulate your blood sugar and keep you from crashing. I keep a few around me most of the time, so if I don't have a chance to eat I don't go all crazy.

I personally don't get blood sugar crashes if I exercise a few hours before I should eat.

If I eat it during a crash, I feel kinda yucky and low energy, but the shakes etc go away.

My favorite Extend Bar is the Peanut Delight, it reminds me of a "Rice Krispies" peanut butter treats.

I have trouble with my blood sugar dropping, especially in the evening or night. When I eat the Peanut Delight bar as a snack at bedtime I do not have any problem.

I am not a real chocolate person,if you are a chocolate person you will love the chocolate bars and the other flavors are very good too.

I give this product the highest recommendation that I can, try all the flavors I am sure you will love them too. The benefits for diabetic patients are great.

I have tried all varieties of the Extend Bars. In all honesty, I'm not crazy about any of them but the Peanut Butter Crunch, to me, has the most flavor. If you follow a diabetic diet faithfully and experience Dawn Syndrone, these bars will help lower your early morning blood glucose readings. They taste okay for a low carb bar but don't expect your taste buds to jump for joy. Of course, everyone has their own idea of what taste good. I guess the most important thing to remember is that these bars do what they say they do; help control blood sugar and satisfy hunger.

For diabetics, Extend Bars are a welcomed tool in helping to manage a healthy diet.

Kellogg's Corn Flakes , 12 oz

Kellogg's Corn Flakes , 12 ozSOMETHING TO EAT IF YOU'RE STARVING BUT PLEASE GIVE REAL FOOD TO HUNGRY PEOPLE,

What's in Kellogg's Corn Flakes? "Milled Corn, Sugar, Malt Flavoring, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Salt." Yes, of course, it also has lots of yummy preservatives such as BHT and a few synthetic vitamins and iron in minute quantities. For nutrition you get basically 100% Carbs from lots of SUGAR and almost NO PROTEIN. Add skim milk, or you'll get saturated fat with a little protein from whole milk. For added nutrition, include a sliced banana and a capful of wheat germ.

If you like Corn Flakes, that is your business and you should enjoy them, but this is not health food and it is a very poor value for more than 0.29 cents an ounce [$3.49 per package]. At this price, the inner package's failure to maintain freshness is an even bigger drawback when one thinks of how long it may take to finish 12 ounces of this stuff. Why not use a vacuum-sealed container like Kretschmer's Wheat Germ to preserve freshness? After all, it's in the same price range!

So if you are hungry, you are really eating the wrong stuff. SOMETHING TO EAT IF YOU ARE STARVING BUT PLEASE GIVE REAL FOOD TO OTHER HUNGRY PEOPLE PLEASE!

Erin Baker's Homestyle Granola, Oatmeal Raisin, 12-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6)

Erin Baker's Homestyle Granola, Oatmeal Raisin, 12-Ounce BagsGood granola! The great flavor of crushed up oatmeal cookies, lots of raisins and a nice granola texture.

I've been on the search for a granola that is moist and chewy and doesn't taste and feel like dried pegboard. This is it!!!! And check out the ingredient list! Nothing that you can't spell or that contains more than 5 syllables. I almost hate to recommend it because it is SOOOOOOO good and I don't want them to run out. I was at Whole Foods last week and they only had the peanut butter. Which was great but I like the oatmeal raisin better. The raisins are chewy, not the nasty dried rock chips found in some other brands. Erin, these are amazing!

Tastes great. Holds up well in yogurt. Haven't tried it with milk, but believe it would be great there too.
