Green Mountain Coffee Breakfast Blend, K-Cup for Keurig Brewers

Green Mountain Coffee Breakfast Blend, Light Roast, K-Cup Portion Pack for Keurig Brewers 24-Count,I found these first at my local supermarket. I've been looking for a blend that I could use as my standard every-day cup of coffee and, finally, this was it. I've tried so many of the other blends and brands and they were either harsh and bitter (I know, some people think coffee *should* taste that way!) or too bland and weak. This is smooth but with a nice "coffee" presence you can actually taste. *Coffee* taste, not burned grounds!

I highly recommend this if you're *not* into the "make your hair stand on end" type of coffee. This review is based on using the "medium" size on the coffee machine. You may get different results if you use the small or large dispenser sizes.

Have tried many varieties of K cups and green mountain is the best. My favorite blend is breakfast blend. Mild coffee, if you like Dunkin Donuts, you will like this. If you are a starbucks drinker, try a bolder blend.

I'm glad to taste this one; it's ideal for me, not bitter. Taste is smooth, whether adding sugar/cream or black. I'll order more.

I love this coffee. As I get older, my stomach can't seem to take the really strong blends. Breakfast Blend is perfect. Great flavor without hurting my stomach. Amazon has the best price with free shipping. I only wish I could start an automatic refill of my order.

Update 9-1-12

Yea!!! This coffee can finally be ordered with an automatic refill. I am always guaranteed the lowest price and don't have to worry about searching for it. I am one happy Amazon, coffee lover.

This is a good mild coffee for the drinker that doesn't like a strong bold blend in the morning. I don't like a burnt tasting coffee and this is the one I like the best.

Bob's Red Mill Organic High Fiber Pancake & Waffle, Whole Grain Mix, 26-Ounce Bags (Pack of 4)

Bob's Red Mill Organic High Fiber Pancake & Waffle, Whole Grain Mix, 26-Ounce BagsI bought this because I have recently switched over just about all of my food to organics. I was so happy to see that I could fix something that seems like a treat and yet was pretty darned good for you without being loaded with chemicals. I bought a waffle iron (the Presto Flipside--also 5 stars!)just for this batter. It works great in the iron and tastes amazing in the mouth! My family loves getting a special belgian waffle breakfast with berries on top every once in a while just to switch it up. You can make extra and freeze them then heat them in your oven on the rack again in about 12 minutes. I love it when DELICIOUS and CONVENIENT are combined with HEALTHY! I haven't even tried it for pancakes yet, but I'm sure it's just as wonderful.

I tried this mix for the first time today and the pancakes were SO good! They have a nice texture and delicious flavor. The nutritional value is great. They have 5 g of fiber per serving as well as 6+ grams of protein depending on how you prepare them. I will purchase these again. This is just another wonderful product from Bob's. I am a huge fan of their products.

Good fiber mix and nice alternate for other grain breakfast foods.

If you have a family of more than two, you should go through the

four pack in good time. Otherwise, one may have to freeze some extra

packs.

The pancakes and waffles taste great! I just follow the simple batter recipe, included in the packaging.

I use a Presto 3510 FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker. I also like to add organic, cage free eggs and almond milkwhen making batter. With grams of fiber (28% DV) and protein per serving, the nutritional value of this mix is very high. There is no saturated fat, trans fat, or cholesterol in this mixbefore adding the eggs and milk. I added a pic of the nutritional information. The price is low, but the quality is very high. In order to maintain the most potential freshness, I store my unopened bags in a freezer and the open bag in the fridge.

I agree with the negative review that this mix produces very grainy waffles when made as instructed. I don't mind it that much. In fact, I chew very slowly and keep it in my mouth to allow the flavor to fully hit my taste buds with minimal syrup. My husband, who like most people, prefers smooth texture, does not like it even when paired with syrup. He does like it better when pairing the waffle with a much stronger sweetener buckwheat honey, which also gives the end product a nutty flavor. My son, who is 7, does not like it, either, because of the visible dark grains in the waffle he thinks it's "dirty". My 4-year-old daughter does not seem to mind it when paired with syrup.

That said, this is an honest product with all natural ingredients and definitely not one of those food-like products with smooth texture to lure you but are bad for your health in the long run. This is how waffles were supposed to come out 100 years ago when steel mills were not around and people were eating stone ground grains and living a much healthier life style. You can't beat 7g fiber per serving!

I recently learned that with whole grain products, egg whites can tone down the grainy texture compared to whole eggs. That's what I will try when the next shipment arrives. Another thing I will try is to put a pack of Truvia in the batter to sweeten it up a bit.

The shipping was quick. The product arrived intact and as described. Overall, I am happy with the product and the shopping experience.

Bob's Red Mill Corn Grits/Polenta, 24-Ounce (Pack of 4)

Bob's Red Mill Corn Grits/Polenta, 24-OunceApparently the other reviewer for this product has his underwear in a wad about the price I don't think the other reviewer even tasted this product! Yes, Bob's Red Mill products aren't cheap, but the company fills a very unique niche (Gluten-free products, unusual flours, etc.) and I'm willing to pay the price to keep the company from disappearing. Plus, every product from Bob's Red Mill that I've ever tried has been superior, including these grits!

Now about the grits as a native Southerner, I've eaten grits all my life but I'd never had a yellow, coarsely ground corn grit before I tried Bob's. From the moment my family tried these grits about two years ago, we've eaten no other grits. We cook these grits every weekend, usually Saturday and Sunday mornings. Oh, we've tried a few regional products (Lakeside yellow grits are good, too, and more finely ground), but just not as good as Bob's. I like the more coarse grind of this product, and the flavor is exceptional. The corn flavor comes through, but not in an overpowering way not to sound like a geek foodie, but Bob's yellow grits have a fantastic taste and mouthfeel. It's hard to explain, but I recommend you try them. If you're not sure you want to bite off a multi-box purchase via Amazon, then check your local grocery store (Publix in the Southeast carries Bob's) as do many organic/gourmet grocers.

Oh, and never follow the directions on a bag or box of grits that's the reason non-Southerners think grits are nasty, because they make them without the necessary amounts of butter, salt and milk or cream. Also, these are not quick cook grits, so it will take about 20 minutes from the time the water boils to achieve smooth, cooked grits. To feed four people (assuming you also have pancakes and a meat for breakfast), use three cups water brought to a boil, then gently shake about 2/3 cup of grits into the water. Once the water/grits combo comes to a boil, immediately lower the heat to simmer and stir frequently. [A note about lumps: if you don't stir often enough, you get lumps; if you dump the grits in, rather than shaking them in slowly, you get lumps.] Add about two or three tablespoons of butter, then an unholy amount of salt. I'm afraid to measure how much salt we actually use (we salt to taste as we cook), but I would guess we use two or more teaspoons of salt. To avoid oversalting, start with one teaspoon of salt, taste when you're almost almost done, then add salt to taste. Depending on how thick you like your grits, add additional water (we prefer to use 1% milk) to thin them out a bit. You can also add crispy bacon or country ham to your final product for flavor.

Any Southerner can tell you that grits left in a pot to cool become polenta... so go ahead, and impress your Yankee and West Coast friends by "grilling up" leftover slices of your breakfast for dinner. Remember, the Americas introduced corn to Europe (including Italy), so grits came first.

While cooking in an area where my usual brand was not available, I tried three different brands from the local grocery stores over the past two days, including this one. Already shopped at a local "italian" grocery, but they only had instant and tubes of already cooked polenta. Results so far: Bob's Red Mill was the worst. In fact, it made the worst polenta I've ever produced. This product is flavorless and cooks almost instantly. I prefer to take the time to make polenta right so the flavor develops. While it does not claim to be instant polenta or reconstituted cooked grains, something is clearly wrong. I threw the batch away and the entire bag. We cook polenta frequently in many ways--creamy under braises; stiffer and flavored with broth, herbs and cheese as a side dish; grilled; and sauteed. I like the equivalent of an authentic, excellent Italian or high-end restaurant version of polenta. Bland cornmeal mush is not the same thing, and that's what you will get with this product. Whatever the price, this was a waste of every dime I spent.

Arrowhead Mills Whole Grain Puffed Millet Cereal, 6-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12)

Arrowhead Mills Whole Grain Puffed Millet Cereal, 6-Ounce BagsAccording to the hype on the bag as well as the nutrition information, this whole grain is quite healthy. I've been eating it for breakfast almost every day for several months, and it seems to get me off to a good start. Since the millet itself doesn't have much flavor, I fill a large bowl with 95% millet, and 5% granola sprinkled on top (plus some ground flax seed); I then add milk. I get granola with each bite, and it makes the whole bowl really quite tasty, without being overwhelmingly sweet.

It's cheap, healthy and filling. Just make sure you have plenty of pantry space, as you get twelve large bags with this order.

Arrowhead produces several puffed cereals but this is my favorite. First off, it doesn't get soggy. You can take several phone calls or even a shower and come back and find this stuff is still holding up to the milk. And because the kernels are small it's ideal for someone like me with jaw problems. The flavor is similar to popcorn, just milder. Only downside is that occasionally you'll get a bag where they haven't done such a good job of eliminating the hulls...bothersome buggers that have a tendency to cling to your gums etc. I start every day with a bowl.

Buy Arrowhead Mills Whole Grain Puffed Millet Cereal, 6-Ounce Bags (Pack of 12) Now

I actually like this cereal more than the [N ..] organic brand because it is easier on my stomachnot sure why since this does not seem to be organic. However, note that this brand has a LOT of hulls which can spread and float around when you first open the bag. So beware and brush your teeth if you have anywhere special to go after consuming this. They will get stuck in your teeth.

You might also want to keep tabs on this product's price which seems to fluctuate significantly. Right now, it is over $31 WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for puffs, especially considering this is not organic.

Boyds Coffee French No. 6, Ground Dark Roast Coffee, 3-Ounce Portion Packs (Pack of 40)

Boyds Coffee French No. 6, Ground Dark Roast Coffee, 3-Ounce Portion PacksI, and a few of my coworkers, are admitted coffee snobs. However, we couldn't justify the price of Starbucks, etc... for our corporately sponsored coffee mess at work. We tried 6-8 other brands and blends, but in a taste test the Boyds French No.6 won ever taste test. It's not the best French Roast I've had, but it is pretty good and the price is great. It's been a few weeks, and we are all still very pleased to be drink a much better coffee than we had been with generic portion packs.

Lyons Original Irish Tea. 80 Bags

Lyons Original Irish Tea. 80 BagsI first tried this unforgetable tea while visiting Ireland for the first time. I was hooked. I never went back to coffee again. It is mild without the usual after taste that you sometimes get with tea. Try it with whole milk for a most satisfying flavor. It is the best tea I have ever had. Since returning to the US I have looked for it everywhere and will definately be using amazon for my future purchases.

I grew up in Ireland. We're passionate about what we drink and tea's no different. You're either a Lyons drinker or you're wrong (AKA a Barry's drinker). Most tea over here in the US just doesn't have the same punch as Lyons. That's not to say that it's unrefined. It makes a very smooth cup. Try it you won't be disappointed.

I just ordered two boxes of Lyons tea (160 bags), which is great everyday tea, but the expiration date is too close -only 2 months away. I'm not so happy with that. I need a few more months to drink that much tea.

This is the best tea I have ever had. Unfortunately the distribution wars make its availability spotty in Boston, where one would expect it to be readily available. When the major markets do have it in stock, the price is more than 20% lower that listed here, and smaller markets occasionally carry it for even less. Lobby your store manager.

B&M® Brown Bread Plain, 16 oz. (Six Cans)

B&M® Brown Bread Plain, 16 oz.I bought the Raisin Brown Bread today on a whim at the grocery store (Publix in Florida) and I really liked it. Of special interest to me was the fact that no refined white sugar is used to sweeten it (only molasses) and no white flour is used (only whole wheat and rye flours). This bread is therefore quite closer to a South Beach Diet-acceptable "dessert" versus something you'd get in a typical bakery (with the possible exception of the molasses...didn't read that far).

The raisins were sweet and delicious and the bread is rich and hearty. I paid $1.99 locally and found it to be a very good value. It was flavorful and delicious enough by itself that butter actually was a negative when I tried it! That doesn't happen often.

I would recommend you try this product at least once to see what you think. I think it would be great to keep on hand as a snack, as one can could easily last you a few days of snacking.

B&M Brown bread totally took us back to our childhood. Slice it into rounds about 3/8 inch thick. The trick is steaming it so that it is hot and moist and serve with butter, which melts into the bread. Looks like chocolate, but it is dark with molasses. They still make the same stuff of our memories. Patience! First can didn't get hot enough or moist enough, but the second and third were perfect.

Better Oats Oat Revolution! Instant Oatmeal ~ Maple & Brown Sugar Flavor ~ 5 Pouches per 7.55 oz Bo

Better Oats Oat Revolution! Instant Oatmeal ~ Maple & Brown Sugar Flavor ~ 5 Pouches per 7.55 oz BoxI discovered BetterOats oatmeal at a local store. I have never eaten instant oatmeal as it never appealled to me. I am having problems with my teeth and it is difficult for me to chew. So I figured I would get some. Wow it was so good and so easy to fix. So I immediately popped onto Amazon (as I order many things from them) and was delighted they carried the product. However, what a shock I had when I saw what they were charging. It looks as though they come from other places but the cost per box is ridiculous. I am paying 50 cents per box, or 2/$1.00. at Save-A-Lot. Now this place doesn't carry a huge variety so I checked out Food Lion and Giant which carried each box (5 packets in each) for $1.49.

I felt I should let customers know about this pricing on Amazon. Perhaps Amazon will read this review and might consider selling them themselves and put in a price between 50 cents to $1.49 with Free Shipping and maybe the "subscribe and save" option. I checked around Amazon and found prices to really vary ------ for 3 boxes it varies from $4.13 to $7.49 a box, for 6 boxes $4.13. And I am paying 50 cents to $1.49 a box.

As a creature of habit, I have eaten two packs of Quaker instant at work for the past seven years. After trying three different flavors of Oat Revolution, I will never go back. Three reasons why:

1) Flavor. Simply put, it tastes better than Quaker. When I was buying Quaker I had to cut the Brown Sugar with a packet of plain. I did not have to do it with this brand. it was not overly sweet, just delicious. I just took a look at their website and they have an absurd number of flavors, including a dark chocolate that I have not seen at the store.

2) Smart packaging. This likely only applies to me, but because I ate breakfast at my work, I never made the same bowl of oatmeal twice. Sometimes, too much water, other times, too little. The Oat Revolution packet is the measuring cup. You fill the packet to the dotted line, and voila, perfect oatmeal every time.

3) Nod to the planet. They are conscious about environmentally-sensitive packaging.
