Pero Instant Natural Beverage, 7-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 6)

Pero Instant Natural Beverage, 7-Ounce CanistersI recently gave up coffee and decided to try three different coffee substitutes: Roastaroma, Cafix, and Pero. Although Cafix tasted the most like real coffee (and it tastes *a lot* like real coffee), and all three products are pretty good, Roastaroma was my favorite.

It is very similar to coffee, but it doesn't quite have the bitter bite of coffee. Those of you who are looking for that slight bitterness might prefer Cafix. Roastaroma actually reminds me a little bit of Mexican hot chocolate--the cinnamon and carob flavors come through pretty strongly in the drink, giving it a cinnamon-chocolatey flavor. I used to drink coffee to satisfy my sweet tooth on low calories. This drink totally fits the bill for this purpose.

The Pero is pretty good, too. Like Roastaroma, it doesn't have the bitter coffee taste, but it still makes for a decent imitation of decaf. I like to drink it with cinnamon-flavored powdered creamer. Pero's a good value, too: it's strong enough that you don't need to use very much to flavor your whole drink. I drink the Pero when I'm trying to ration the Roastaroma out to myself so as not to run out.

So Roastaroma has the best flavor, Cafix tastes the most like coffee, and Pero is a good back-up.

A quick note on Postum: I do not care for it. I find that people who like Postum tend to be people who were never coffee drinkers. It tastes nothing like coffee. If you try Postum as a coffee substitute, you will be disappointed.

I was a caffeine addict until it started to affect my health. By the doctor's orders, I backed off the caffeine. I went onto Amazon looking for decaf coffee, and I found Pero. WHAT A GREAT FIND!!! I now have several cups per day, but I don't feel guilty about it. It has 3 ingredients--barley, malted barley, and chicory. Maybe I am hooked on the chicory. Is that possible? I doubt it. Anyway, I swear this stuff tastes more like coffee every time I drink it. I have been tempted to play a practical joke with people at work by asking them to try my new "coffee". I'll bet I could fool many of them. I love Pero so much that I actually gave some to my Mom along with her chocolates for Mother's Day. Love live Pero!

When Kraft quit making Postum we had to find an alternative it was already an alternative to coffee, so this would be plan C. We explored every avenue we could find in our small town at all the local stores and on the internet. We found Pero on line and decided to stick our necks out to try a case of it. We have not been disappointed. We like it better than coffee. It is smooth with no bitterness. It mixes well with hot chocolate and tastes good straight and black if that's what you want. We will be buying more of it and some friends will be doing the same after they tasted it.

Pero is a real good coffee substitute it does "foam" up (like hot cocoa) though. It is more of a "mellowed" taste of coffee, which is still quite good like you may have added just a touch of flavoring. Cafix has more of a straight coffee taste. But I like both and alternate between the two, depending on my mood.

My husband drank Pero when he lived in Argentina, loved it, and has been frustrated because it's been hard to find. He gave some to a friend who was trying to quit drinking coffee and get rid of caffeinne in her diet. She loved it too, and then found your site offering whole cases of it! We immediately ordered a case ourselves. We've shared our Pero with others who want a good-tasting, caffeine-free hot drink, and it's been welcomed enthusiastically. Thanks for a great service. Thanks for making a great healthy breakfast drink so easy to get.

Yorkshire Gold tea in tea bags-box 80 bags

Yorkshire Gold tea in tea bags-box 80 bags...but if Britain is seen as a nation of Tea drinkers then Yorkshire would be the county where Tea making and drinking takes on mythical status and seroius cultural meaning, the process is highly ritualised.

I was born in Yorkshire and as a child "Coffee" was a dirty word amongst my older relatives. Tea has to be strong, flavoursome and refreshing in Yorkshire and people embue it with medicianl properties. This product has long since been endoresed as the perfect Tea for the county and it is really good. Taylor's, who make it, are a damn fine company and never cut corners in their art and craft.

My favourite tea for the workday is Yorkshire Gold. The leaves are cut into small pieces to brew quickly. The taste is consistent box after box. I drink it from lunch onward. It has just the right amount of caffeine to keep me going without being wired. We are provided free tea bags which I pass up for my own Yorkshire Gold. Thank you Taylors of Harrowgate for this fine tea!

I don't know exactly how we ended up with a 160-bag box of tea Taylors of Harrogate, Yorkshire Gold Tea, 160-Count Tea Bags, but I think my first reaction was "well THAT will last us approximately forever." HOWEVER, it instantly became, by far and away, the favorite tea in our household. I just searched for it on Amazon, relieved that we can order another box before those last few bags are gone. True to our ancestral Southern (US) roots, we sometimes drink it iced, but this tea truly shines as a "hot cuppa." The flavor is smooth and full-bodied, and this tea really satisfies where the others don't. If I were a tea connoisseur (or if I could even SPELL connoisseur without spell check) I could probably tell you why this tastes so much better than others, but there are good green teas and there are good black teas and THIS is a really good black tea. A friend of ours gets his Yorkshire Gold from a connection in England, so I am especially relieved to learn I don't have to impose upon someone else's friendship to score another box.

It's a really nice, malty, somewhat unusual black tea. I think I have to be sort of in the mood for it, as it has a pretty definite flavor, but when I'm in the mood for it it's extremely enjoyable. If you are wanting a straightforward black tea, I suppose I wouldn't recommend it too strongly, but if you want something sort of different and of really high quality, definitely go for it.
