Adult Organic Energy Sports Chews

Sharkies Organic Energy Sports Chews, Fruit Splash, 1.58-Ounce PouchesThese are perfect for anyone who maintains an active lifestyle. They have a near ideal blend of simple and complex carbohydrates, they don't have a foul aftertaste, they don't sit in your stomach, and they don't contain anything artificial. The fact they are organic is a nice bonus. Finally, they are priced right here @ Amazon. To be honest, I wouldn't pay more than $1 a bag for them.

Having said that, if you have a sweet tooth, they probably aren't for you. They aren't sweet per se. I think their consistency is similar, but not identical to, gummy bears (Sharkies are less chewy), but I've had quite a few friends disagree.

Unlike most sport bars it does not taste like sawdust.

It tastes a lot like gummy bears and the difference is mostly a "natural" vs. "processed" flavor.

They are less sticky/messy than gels and are bite-sized unlike bars.

I am a long-distance runner and use these as an energy source---they are easier on the stomach than the sports gels and taste great!

Sharkies taste good, have a nice texture to them, and do provide energy. However, I have tried them on longer runs, and they don't make the cut. They only provide energy for a few minutes. Also, they tend to get stuck in my teeth which I can't have when I'm already having a hard time sucking in air during my runs.

I would gladly eat these over gummy bears since they are made of organic ingredients that are healthier than those used in gummy bears, but I'm sticking with my Honey Stingers for my fruit chews during long runs. The Honey Stingers truly last for the hour that is indicated on each bag, and they are much softer so they don't get stuck in my teeth.

Hope this helps someone out there. Cheers!
