The flecks of crushed vanilla bean make this special. Best vanilla I've ever used. As others have mentioned, this can occasionally be found at discount stores for about $10-$12. I find it at TJ Maxx and Marshall's Home Store and buy all they have when I spy it.

I found this in Tuesday Morning and gave it a try. The flavor is very intense and you could probably get by with using less in a recipe. I don't want to go back to the grocery store brands but would not be able to use at this price. I paid under $10 for my bottle at TM.Read Best Reviews of Sonoma Syrup Vanilla Bean Crush Extract 8 oz Here
I've been using Sonoma Syrup Company's Vanilla Bean Extract "Crush" for over 5 years and it's the ONLY vanilla extract that I'll use any longer. Intensely deep flavoured, having the added bonus of the actual vanilla bean specks in the extract creates a very visually pleasing end result, and also adds to the intense vanilla flavour. Although this is NOT a concentrate, because of the triple threat: Madagascar Bourbon beans, Tahitian beans and crushed seeds, I find that I can use 1/2 the volume of vanilla required in recipes, with identical results. You need to give the bottle a wee shake whenever you use it, to stir the vanilla seeds "up".Normally, I buy this product directly from King Arthur when they have their FREE shipping or reduced shipping costs. If you buy this straight up from King Arthur, as of this date, the shipping is $8.00 and the product is $19.95. From THIS vendor, the product is $21.99, with the completely OUTRAGEOUS shipping cost of $$15.99! Say what?!?! Even if I ordered from King Arthur at full shipping cost, I'd save $9.99 (in total) from what this vendor is selling it! Shame-shame!
So, if you Live to Bake, order this from King Arthur. You will NOT be disappointed.Everything I would hope for in a vanilla extract, but until now I never found it. I won't use any other vanilla. This is the best, truest vanilla flavor, short of buying your own vanilla beans.
