I had never eaten steel cut oats before and didn't realize that they took 10-20 minutes to cook. We usually eat them on weekends when we have more time in the morning. They are very tasty!My family ate oatmeal everyday for breakfast as long as I could remember. But it made me sick and I eventually stopped eating it, although I loved it. After 25 years of not eating it and missing it everyday I finally discovered that if it was Gluten Free I could eat it and a new world opened up for me. Once I tried Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free I have never bought another brand. I use the regular oats for mostly cooking, although I do sneak a bowl now and then, and the steel cut oats for breakfast.
