Quaker Instant Grits Real Butter 12oz - 6 Unit Pack

Quaker Instant Grits Real Butter 12oz - 6 Unit PackI eat Quaker Instant Butter Flavor Grits packets and the Lower Sugar Oatmeal packets pretty much every day for breakfast at work. They are a very reasonable breakfast calorie and fat wise with built in portion control. These grits packets include butter flavor that really makes it easy because the packets really don't need anything else besides a little salt to make them taste great. They are the perfect solution for someone who doesn't want to deal with cooking time or a lot of mess and they are easy to store.

I put two packets in a 10oz Styrofoam coffee cup with a little salt, pour in hot water from the coffee maker hot water dispenser until it is almost to the top and just stir with a plastic spoon. No cooking or microwave mess and it comes out perfect every time. You can also use your own cup and spoon for less waste. Just make sure to clean it quickly because grits are hard to clean once they dry and stick to the bowl.

Overall, these have been one of the easiest breakfast items (that aren't granola/cereal bars) to have on hand at work and I really enjoy the taste. There are a lot of different flavors, but I personally like the Butter flavor the best. They go on BOGO at grocery stores near me so you can get them pretty inexpensively making your breakfast cost less than 25 cents a day. Highly Recommended!

Quaker has always made high quality products using grits. I was born and raised in Louisiana, the real "Deep South". Ever morning, my grandmother would make a bowl of Quaker grits to go along with my scrambled egg, toast and milk. If you say you are from the South, but have never tasted the pleasures of grits, then you are not from the true "South".

I have been using "Quaker's" instant grits for years because I never had the time in the morning to cook the regular grits. Even though they are not ordinary grits, they still have the flavor and mouth feel that brings back the memories of those mornings, sitting in the kitchen, watching my grandmother making breakfast.

They can be made as creamy or stiffer as you like by adding more or less water. You can add cheese, bacon bits or other ingredients to the cooked instant grits. It is way faster than the regular grits and also the "fast" grits. I always keep a box or two of the instant grits, along with the regular grits, in my pantry.

Thank you, Quaker, for bringing back so many wonderful memories of my early days!!
