Nature's Path Organic Corn Flakes, Fruit Juice Sweetened Cereal, 10.6-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

Nature's Path Organic Corn Flakes, Fruit Juice Sweetened Cereal, 10.6-Ounce BoxesFOOD FIGHT! Proposition 37 if passed in CA on 11/6/12 will require all food sold in retail outlets made with genetically engineered ingredients to be labeled. Nature's Path has come out to support Yes on 37. They care about consumer's right to know! This is enough for me to buy Nature's Path cereal. Besides their cereal is USDA organic. Thank you.

Started eating this cereal about 6 months ago, buying it in the Organic section of the local grocery. However, being a popular cereal, it was out on occasion, so I started having a monthly delivery from Amazon, which is working excellently. The cereal has a texture and taste that puts the National brands to shame. If you need a gluten free cereal or just want one that has a natural, good taste, try this Nature's Path cereal.

We've had some other gluten free corn flakes that were really thick and hard and tasteless so we were thrilled to find these tasty tidbits. Slightly thicker than your standard grocery store corn flake, but that's a plus in my mind because they don't get soggy so fast, and not TOO thick where the texture is compromised. Yum! Though I will say that we found a better deal on them at our local co-op so we are no longer buying them on Amazon.

These are slightly thicker than regular gluten cornflakes, but still tasty. Don't expect them to be sweet...like frosted flakes. They are just plain. Very good though...and great in recipes.

I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease, so I turned to Kellogg's corn flakes for my breakfasts, because I figured corn was safe. Little did I know that malt flavoring contains gluten!

These were a serendipitous substitute SO natural and tasty! It's refreshing these days to find a food with only three straightforward ingredients (corn, grape juice, salt). I ought to buy them in bulk!

Danish Orchards Preserves, Strawberry, 4-Pound

Danish Orchards Preserves, Strawberry, 4-PoundI once ordered a 4-pack of this jam a couple of years ago and was very pleasantly surprised by its rich, natural flavor (with big chunks of strawberries in it). I've been waiting and watching for Amazon to make it available again, and now I'm a monthly subscriber. I haven't been able to find this item locally, so my Amazon subscription is the only way to obtain it. I highly recommend this jam. It's about 25% more expensive than Smuckers strawberry jam (which is pretty good), but I feel it's worth the extra money because Smuckers is a bit syrupy (and doesn't have actual chunks of strawberries in it) compared to this jam. It's also "shelf-stable", which means you don't have to refrigerate it after opening. The tub is reusable, too, with a pop-on lid so that you can store small items in it (I have an assortment of nails and screws in my old containers).

The only problem I have with this product is the way Amazon ships it. I've purchased this item six or seven times now, and three of those times, at least one tub has been ruptured. I've called Amazon each time and requested a partial refund or replacement for the ruptured tubs (and of course Amazon gave it to me). I would suggest that Amazon find a better way to pack these tubs--they just don't travel well via UPS.

But for the product itself: five stars!

The package arrived in a mess. Jam dripping from the box. My dog loved the clean-up. The carton was exactly as pictured, but should have been shrink-wrapped. It was simply laid on its side with packing tossed in the box and off it went. The trip was too much for it....and it popped open and spilled out into the bottom of the box......and leaked out of the packing box. A total mess. But, in true Amazon style, I was given a refund and an apology for the inconvenience. After the sticky clean up....and my refund.....it turned out fine and Mama-Dog loved all the cleaning of the driveway and the garage floor and was not the least bit inconvenienced.

This is the best jelly/jam we have ever tasted. We love it but it is hard for us to find to purchase.

The packaging on this item, when received today, had failed. One of the plastic tubs partially opened in transit, resulting in strawberry preserves all over the contents of the box. It also has a 'best used before', date of 1/27/13 on the label. I just got the package on the 15th of February. Disappointed all around. However, it's good tasting stuff! Just needs better packaging.

At $10 for 4lbs and great reviews, I really wanted to like this. However when the shipment arrived, there were leaked strawberry preserves everywhere.

Special K Cereal, Protein 13.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)

Special K Cereal, Protein 13.5-Ounce Boxes** This review was done for the old formula see update below for review of the "improved" formula ** Last year, I stumbled across a website that evaluates your current breakfast cereal for nutrition, satiety, etc. and this cereal was at the top of the recommended list as an alternative to my former option. I've always found that original Special K left me more hungry and the suggested serving size was laughable. The artificial chocolate pieces in Choco. Delight were vile, so with those strikes, I was a bit reluctant to try Protein Plus. It didn't help that some reviewers didn't like the taste ordering 4 boxes that I'd be stuck with was uncomfortable, but I went for it.

That was nearly a year ago and this has been my "go to" cereal ever since. I think it tastes pretty good, so I advise that you decide for yourself on taste. It has a light and sweet cinnamon flavor, I love the added protein and it's very low in sugar (2 g's per .75 cup serving). The flakes are sturdy (great crunch) and dense not airy at all holds up well in skim milk or yogurt, but I typically eat it straight up out of my handy measuring cup. I don't need to sweeten it at all and a serving size, or just over, leaves me satisfied (really hard to do) and a box seems to last me awhile another huge plus. I even carry a bag as a snack especially when I travel so that I'm not tempted to make less healthy choices. While I can't give all the credit to Protein Plus, as part of an overall reduced calorie daily intake attempt, I've lost 20 lbs in the past year and although near my goal have no intention of taking this off my grocery list.

**Update 8.5.12** the formula and stats have indeed changed, and significantly IMO. I am not thrilled and I wish they left well enough alone. Examples: Calories from 100 to 120, Sugar (now the 3rd ingredient) from 2-3 to 7 grams (double really?!), fiber and protein same, but the old box claims 5 grams of fiber when the fine print says 3. The new box just has 3. Other stats have changed too, I just don't have the old box available to refer to. I am eating the new boxes since I have 4 from Subscribe and Save, but I got no warning of the change and there is a huge difference in texture, sweetness, etc. Overall, it tastes okay, but it lost its edge. I have cancelled this S&S and I am going to look locally to see if I can still find the old formula and stock up. Big fat BOO to Kellogg's other than the easier opening inner sack, this was a stupid move. If I could choose no stars I would. I have found the old formula locally and I am stocking up!

Boo to this. I was SO happy with it when I had finally found a low-carb cereal in which I could add my own sweetener to control how sweet I wanted it, and safely with Stevia or something else. Even just a couple of sliced strawberries. This was the only one to fit into a reasonable daily carb allowance.

Then they changed it to be sweeter and loaded up on more sugar and carbs. I complained to Kellogg and they replied that they did a taste test and found people wanted it to be sweeter. A TASTE TEST. On people that probably had no interest in its intended purpose to be a healthier option for people that actually need to watch their diets closely they evidently didn't test for value when it came to its health benefits, they tested purely for flavor. Shouldn't this have been tested on people that WERE concerned with health...? It's that essentially the goal demographic? The general public has TONS of sugary cereals to choose from. Can't we just have ONE?

You've lost my business, Kellogg, as well as many others that follow a low-carb/keto diet. I was once recommending this cereal to everyone that was trying to be more healthy so they didn't have to give up all the types of food they love--those on Atkins, Protein Power, the huge following of low-carbers on reddit, to name a few. Now we're back to pretty much no cereal options once again.

I have been enjoyng the Special K Protein cereal for at least a year but Kellogs decided to "improve" it, and I say, Yuk. The "Extra" means they've added extra sugar! Now it does taste like cardboard, but cardboard that is sickly sweet. Another case where corporate America is determined to keep America's sweet-tooth in high gear. Thanks Kellogs, for making a good product bad.

Update: A good, less sugary low-carb, high-protein substitute for this cereal is Hi-Lo Low Carb Cereal by Organic Milling, which is also available on Amazon. Hi-Lo has 1/7 the sugar of the Special K, more protein and more fiber. And it tastes better.

This used to be one of the healthiest cereals available. As an almost vegetarian it was one of the only ways I could get enough iron and protein, plus it had loads of fiber. Now it has less fiber, way more sugar, and more carbs.

After 7+ years of this being a staple in my diet I will no longer be purchasing this. Such a shame.

I am SO disappointed and I know others are, as well. So, I created a petition in the hope that if enough people sign they might eventually return the original formula.

That said, since I've found Hi-Lo cereal which is even better (carb, sugar, and fiber-wise) than the original formula of special k low carb I kind of don't care what Kellogg's does.

I tried the new formula other day and its terrible. I tried two days in a row and its like someone poured a box of fake sugar sweetener on the cereal and not a good kind. I had the worst after taste for hours even after i brushed my teeth. Anyway i emailed them and complained and asked why fiber was reduced to. I told them i would be taking it back to the store and buying a different cereal now. I am so disappointed. Here is the email response i got from them below. And there was no coupons attached either. WHATEVER.

I'm happy to hear you've enjoyed them for many years! Thank you for your comments regarding Kellogg's® Special K® Low Carb Lifestyle Protein Plus cereal. We are sorry you did not enjoy the reformulated product.

As you might imagine, we conduct extensive consumer tests to determine consumer acceptance before introducing a food into the national market. Reformulated products are of special concern to us, so we use panels of regular product users across the country to ensure acceptability. Tests on this reformulated product showed that most consumers preferred the new product to the old. However, we realize that taste preferences do differ and can certainly understand your feelings.

I've compiled a list of cereals with high fiber counts. You may wish to try:

Kellogg's FiberPlus® Berry Yogurt Crunch cereal

Kellogg's FiberPlus® Caramel Pecan Crunch cereal

Kellogg's® All-Bran® Original cereal< BR>Kell ogg's® All-Bran® Bran Buds® cereal

We appreciate your comments and will share them with the appropriate company officials. We have enclosed some coupons which we hope you will use to purchase other products that you enjoy.

McCanns Pinhead/ Steelcut Tin 28oz

McCanns Pinhead/ Steelcut Tin 28ozWe tried this oatmeal about 2 years ago. My sister recommended it to us. It has such a wonderful flavor and texture. It's not the flakes like we're used to. It's little nuggets, steel cut, that take a little while to cook but it's well worth the extra time. It's creamy and nutty and tastes wonderful with bananas and raisins and brown sugar. I highly recommend giving this product a try!

(If you put the oatmeal in with the water to start and let it come to a boil and then turn it down to simmer it doesn't take quite as long.)

I cook them overnight in a crock pot so they are done when I get up in the morning. A lovely food.

McCann's is a new experience in oatmeal. It takes longer to cook, but boy oh boy, is it worth it. It's best to cook the full recipe that they speak of: one cup McCann's, four cups water. Not real tough to remember!

Unless you use the shortcut method, it takes over 30 minutes to make one batch. So if you're going 'green' (energywise), try the overnight method. And warming it up the next morning with the microwave is great; I put milk on it before nuking it. So good when it comes out!

Note: if you undercook McCann's, it'll be like eating pearl barley (or birdshot) that's not cooked long enough--not a great treat. Remember, it is full grains of oats that have been cut maybe once each, but many at a time of course. The water must be given time to permeate the oats grains.

Great for comfort food on those cold mornings when you want something that'll stick to your ribs, plus be good for ya.

A friend that I and one Mr. S.G. "Long Lense" Johnson call "Oatmeal Beard", a.k.a. "Prof. Braddock" (don't ask)--because he used to eat oatmeal, out of the pot, every morning for years driving to work (but it was the 'quick' stuff), well we put him on to McCann's............. a real officianado of oatmeal. I eagerly await his review of this fine product. I give it a huge thumbs up!

Single Serve Instant Oatmeal, 1.9 Oz. Bowl, 12/Box

Single Serve Instant Oatmeal, 1.9 Oz. Bowl, 12/BoxThis is IMHO the best instant oatmeal ever. The problem is only one grocery in my area carries this brand and they are erratic in stocking the flavors I like (Apples 'n Cinnamon and Baked Apple). Consequently, I have to order it on line. The only draw back to online ordering is price; it cost me more than 100% more to order on line than to purchase in the store ($0.99 in store vs $2.15 per serving on line). And to make matters worse, Amazon doesn't stock it all the time. Right now I have to sign up to be notified when it will be available again. So, I end up having to go to other suppliers on line to find this product.

However, this is still the best instant oatmeal in the world and I will pursue it to the ends of the earth!!!!

(2008 HOLIDAY TEAM) As a serial cereal eater, I have had my bouts of addiction throughout my life from Apple Jacks and Count Chocula during my early childhood through an extensive adolescence with Sugar-Frosted Flakes, a short-lived health-oriented period with Bran Flakes and of course, my self-deceptive dieting tactics using Special K. My latest has been Kashi's Heart to Heart, which I find flavorful and filling. There is a slightly sweet taste which has something to do with the light honey glaze on the Cheerio-looking rings, though the most pervasive flavor is a toasted oat. I don't find a need for sugar, but I do like to pile up blueberries if I have them in the fridge.

I have to admit that I have used it as a dinner replacement on really lazy evenings. The best part is that the low-fat, low-sodium cereal is heart-friendly (thus the name) with one gram of soluble fiber per serving. The box claims 11 servings of 3/4 cup each, which for a cereal lover, is a stretch. I've been lucky to eke out eight bowls since I tend to overflow the bowl. Still, the calorie count is reasonable at 110 of which only 15 come from fat. For a price that is on par with local retailers, Amazon delivers the cereal in cases of six boxes, which I think is a reasonable medium-term amount.

Heart to Heart really is the best cereal Ive ever tasted. A couple of months ago my mom and I were shopping at Rite Aid buying toilet trees and then I came across this cereal, Heart to Heart. I looked at the back and found out that its low in calories. I had been trying to find a cereal that tasted delicious but is also low in calories and hadnt found one until I came across Heart to Heart Cereal. It also lowers cholestrol and it also lowers blood pressure. It doesnt have a bland taste like lots of low calorie cereals do; it has a honey flavor to it which is wonderful :) I eat Heart to Heart every morning, Ive lost a lot of weight (maybe because I start my day off eating Heart to Heart Cereal), and I totally recommend this cereal to anyone. You will LOVE it!

I have been eating this cereal every morning for breakfast for a few years now. It is just "heavy" enough to be satisfying until a mid-morning snack. I tried granola, but it's too "heavy" for me. I like a lighter breakfast, but need more than fruit. So this cereal is perfect. It has a mildly sweet nutty flavor and stays crunchy until the end. Reasonably priced with healthy ingredients...it's great!

This is the first oat-based cereal that I have enjoyed. I like it straight from the box, with 2% milk, or occasionally with orange juice. When I travel and may not be able to find it, I pour it into quart-sized zip-lock bags and take some with me. It's also good as a snack when flying. I've compared the label to those on other Kashi cereals, as well as the run-of-the-mill stuff, and this is better.

Klein's Naturals Mango Slices, (Pack of 6)

Klein's Naturals Mango Slices,Too much sugar is added to the dried mango. It doesn't taske like mango. And it is too soft.

The containers are too flimsy. Half of my 6 containers were broken when arrived, exposing the mango to air. The shipping box is intact. Just the mango containers; they are no good.

The mango from Brand Philippine is much better.

I prefer the no sugar added dried mango. This has no mango taste and the sugar is bad for you.

Klein's Mango Slices are fabulous. The slices are not too chewy and not too sweet. They have a true mango taste. The only downside is the poor packaging. The tops rarely stay on and the plastic container occassionally snaps. The positive is that the contents never last more than one day in my house. We purchase the six pack and it lasts maybe six days because of the delicious taste.
