This is where these cookies come in very handy. The first time we bought them we kept them in our pantry (I think we bought 60 that time to try a variety of flavors). Unfortunately, by the time we reached the last dozen, they had gone bad and were a bit fuzzy. Now this is actually a good thing! Mold can't grow without moisture, so this tells you the cookies are moist! Because they are all natural and are not made with preservatives, it is only reasonable that they would have a shorter shelf life.
Next order we popped a weeks worth in the fridge and put the rest in the freezer. We did this because my husband likes to eat them in morning traffic on his way to work so frozen cookies wouldn't work for him. I on the other hand work in a very small office so I brought a variety to work and put them in our freezer. In the morning I just pop one into the microwave for 45 seconds and I have a warm, tasty breakfast. I especially like the gooeyness of the melted caramel and chocolate from those varieties.
At an average of 300 calories it is a good meal alternative and is very filling. It is a nice alternative to drinking a slim fast for breakfast, though I do sometimes still do Slimfast for breakfast and have a cookie for lunch.
I would like to see them come in a variety dozen.
This was my first Erin Baker purchase and I was quite pleased with these cookies. They have a great moist oatmeal flavor. They didn't crumble or taste dry at all. It kind of feels like a cheat like you're eating one of Grandma's oatmeal cookies before a "real" meal. My only issue is I wish there were more walnuts. I've had three cookies so far and one had one walnut, the other two had two. It's a nice unexpected crunch when you get one though. I'm going to try another flavor!Excellent ingredients (no corn syrup and no hydrogenated oils) and very tasty. Banana Walnut is a great substitute for the high-calories bannana-walnut muffin I used to pick up on the way to work.I ordered a box of these cookies to be sent to my mother who is 84 years old they were her Christmas present along with a box of the Chocolate Chunk Breakfast Cookies. She doesn't eat breakfast so I thought these might encourage her to eat something in the morning with her meds. She said they are really quite tasty. She lives out of town, and since I have to eat gluten free, of course I haven't personally tasted them. But if my mother says they're good, I feel confident in giving them a favorable review. These cookies are a life saver in the morning! I am busy chasing my toddler around as soon as her tiny feet hit the floor when she gets out of bed. I take one of these out of the freezer and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds while I chop up fruit for Tiny's breakfast. When she points at my breakfast asking for a bite, I feel good knowing these cookies aren't frankenfood and give her few pinches to share with her. They are a great way to start the day; paired with a cup of coffee, a bit of fruit and a glass of water -I am totally full until lunch.
The banana walnut flavor is just like chewy, dense banana bread. The nuts are nice and crunchy and taste very fresh. These are such a deal at about a buck a cookie with S&S on amazon; the ingredients and consistant product quality make it money well spent.
I keep them in the freezer for freshness, they are really moist and chewy once you let them thaw or microwave. I put one on a saucer and nuke for 20-30 seconds from frozen solid, it turns out like its warm from the oven. I do not recommend keeping them in the fridge, baked goods and bread will get dried out if kept there.
UPDATE:I have lost 35 pounds in the last year with very minimal changes and these cookies have helped me go from not eating breakfast and snacking all morning, to eating breakfast no matter how busy and not needing to snack or eat until lunchtime. They are very filling and are perfect for when you don't have time to make anything.
Earnest Eats Baked Whole Food Bar, Cran Lemon Zest, 1.9-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12)

The bars now are smaller in weight from 61g to 54g. As a result, the nutritional information has changed but Amazon's website has not I have posted the new nutritional information as a customer image & hope it helps someone. This change occurred a couple years ago.
We've recently noticed a change in volume as well. Our latest shipment of bars is smaller the box & package is the same, but the bar itself is smaller but with no change in weight (still 54g). I did not notice a change in taste but the texture seemed smoother. I'm not sure why these bars are smaller than previous batches. Is it a change in recipe? A quality control issue? A new ingredient? Don't know. What I do know is that I just ate a bar with yogurt, which is typical for me, and unfortunately I have to report that this snack is not as filling as before. My DH also noticed that the bar was less filling. I think something is different about the bars once again, but exactly what it is I don't know quite yet.
I'm a Weight Watcher with life-time status. I look for high-volume, filling foods to maintain my weight. At one time, the Earnest bar once one of them. It's quickly falling off my list of favorite, go-to food items. This is by far one of the best quick snack bars on any sort of natures market place-type shelf.
Full of flavor, nice texture and convenient.
BUT since they've become Earnest the bars have SHRUNK. The price did not!

These bars are great for something granola/oat based. They are small, but are sufficient for a filling snack. Just make sure you have a drink nearby as the bar is pretty chewy, sweet and sticky. Its wonderful if you dont have time to eat a meal, or if you need a big snack midday. I bring mine travelling with me to eat in the airport as well as on long hikes when I dont want to carry alot. Just watch out, this is NOT a low cal snack!I ordered the Cran Lemon Zest and did not expect such a sweet tasting cookie. It could have been a candy bar for that matter. I was looking for a healthy snack and this was not it.Want Earnest Eats Baked Whole Food Bar, Cran Lemon Zest, 1.9-Ounce Bars (Pack of 12) Discount?
All earnest bars of this size are great. I just can't get over the price sometimes. I hate to spend much on a bar (I know I sound cheap, but a buck a bar is about my limit). I have a family of six and we go through way too many in a day. I only want good quality ingredients so I purchase these. Recommend if they are a good price.Kellogg's Corn Flakes , 12 oz

What's in Kellogg's Corn Flakes? "Milled Corn, Sugar, Malt Flavoring, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Salt." Yes, of course, it also has lots of yummy preservatives such as BHT and a few synthetic vitamins and iron in minute quantities. For nutrition you get basically 100% Carbs from lots of SUGAR and almost NO PROTEIN. Add skim milk, or you'll get saturated fat with a little protein from whole milk. For added nutrition, include a sliced banana and a capful of wheat germ.
If you like Corn Flakes, that is your business and you should enjoy them, but this is not health food and it is a very poor value for more than 0.29 cents an ounce [$3.49 per package]. At this price, the inner package's failure to maintain freshness is an even bigger drawback when one thinks of how long it may take to finish 12 ounces of this stuff. Why not use a vacuum-sealed container like Kretschmer's Wheat Germ to preserve freshness? After all, it's in the same price range!
So if you are hungry, you are really eating the wrong stuff. SOMETHING TO EAT IF YOU ARE STARVING BUT PLEASE GIVE REAL FOOD TO OTHER HUNGRY PEOPLE PLEASE!

I gave 5 star, but would rather give 4.5. The bars got a bit hard/stale after 4-5 weeks. They still taste good and I still eat them, but something I hope it would last a bit longer!Everything else was good! thanks

I tried one of these at a friend's house, and now I'm hooked. Really. I'm not even on a diet, but they're so chewy and flavorful! I keep a stash of them at home for when I need something sweet to snack on.Want Special K Bars, Red Berries, 6-Count boxes (Pack of 12) Discount?
My grandson loves the strawberry Kellogg's Special K Bars but the strawberry flavored are sometimes difficult to find in the grocery store. I was thrilled to find them on amazon and be able to buy them by the case on a regular basis. Heaven forbid that Nana be caught without a strawberry breakfast bar at all times!
