Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies, Banana Walnut, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped Cookies (Pack of 12)

Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies, Banana Walnut, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped CookiesMy husband and I have tried to change our eating habits this year and part of that has been making sure we have something for breakfast. I don't know about everyone else, but we are not friends with our alarm clock. We have a slap fight every morning with it until we realize we must obey if we want to keep our jobs. Needless to say, there is no time for breakfast before we rush out the door.

This is where these cookies come in very handy. The first time we bought them we kept them in our pantry (I think we bought 60 that time to try a variety of flavors). Unfortunately, by the time we reached the last dozen, they had gone bad and were a bit fuzzy. Now this is actually a good thing! Mold can't grow without moisture, so this tells you the cookies are moist! Because they are all natural and are not made with preservatives, it is only reasonable that they would have a shorter shelf life.

Next order we popped a weeks worth in the fridge and put the rest in the freezer. We did this because my husband likes to eat them in morning traffic on his way to work so frozen cookies wouldn't work for him. I on the other hand work in a very small office so I brought a variety to work and put them in our freezer. In the morning I just pop one into the microwave for 45 seconds and I have a warm, tasty breakfast. I especially like the gooeyness of the melted caramel and chocolate from those varieties.

At an average of 300 calories it is a good meal alternative and is very filling. It is a nice alternative to drinking a slim fast for breakfast, though I do sometimes still do Slimfast for breakfast and have a cookie for lunch.

I would like to see them come in a variety dozen.

This was my first Erin Baker purchase and I was quite pleased with these cookies. They have a great moist oatmeal flavor. They didn't crumble or taste dry at all. It kind of feels like a cheat like you're eating one of Grandma's oatmeal cookies before a "real" meal. My only issue is I wish there were more walnuts. I've had three cookies so far and one had one walnut, the other two had two. It's a nice unexpected crunch when you get one though. I'm going to try another flavor!

Excellent ingredients (no corn syrup and no hydrogenated oils) and very tasty. Banana Walnut is a great substitute for the high-calories bannana-walnut muffin I used to pick up on the way to work.

I ordered a box of these cookies to be sent to my mother who is 84 years old they were her Christmas present along with a box of the Chocolate Chunk Breakfast Cookies. She doesn't eat breakfast so I thought these might encourage her to eat something in the morning with her meds. She said they are really quite tasty. She lives out of town, and since I have to eat gluten free, of course I haven't personally tasted them. But if my mother says they're good, I feel confident in giving them a favorable review.

These cookies are a life saver in the morning! I am busy chasing my toddler around as soon as her tiny feet hit the floor when she gets out of bed. I take one of these out of the freezer and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds while I chop up fruit for Tiny's breakfast. When she points at my breakfast asking for a bite, I feel good knowing these cookies aren't frankenfood and give her few pinches to share with her. They are a great way to start the day; paired with a cup of coffee, a bit of fruit and a glass of water -I am totally full until lunch.

The banana walnut flavor is just like chewy, dense banana bread. The nuts are nice and crunchy and taste very fresh. These are such a deal at about a buck a cookie with S&S on amazon; the ingredients and consistant product quality make it money well spent.

I keep them in the freezer for freshness, they are really moist and chewy once you let them thaw or microwave. I put one on a saucer and nuke for 20-30 seconds from frozen solid, it turns out like its warm from the oven. I do not recommend keeping them in the fridge, baked goods and bread will get dried out if kept there.

UPDATE:I have lost 35 pounds in the last year with very minimal changes and these cookies have helped me go from not eating breakfast and snacking all morning, to eating breakfast no matter how busy and not needing to snack or eat until lunchtime. They are very filling and are perfect for when you don't have time to make anything.
