Was caught a bit off-guard when I was about to purchase this tea and noticed it contained roasted barley malt in the ingredients. Wasn't exactly expecting to find gluten in tea, but you can never be too careful.

I discovered this flavored tea during the Thanksgiving holidays, 2009 at my daughter's house. I am NOT a tea OR coffee drinker but she pressured me to try "this amazing flavored tea" and the rest, shall we say is history! Now I just can't start my day without it. There is no caffeine, however, and all natural ingredients but the flavor is perfect and it stands alone! I would recommend this to anyone, even those "non tea or coffee drinkers". It was introduced as a "Holiday Tea" so it is not supposed to be available throughout the year and it is now almost impossible to find EXCEPT through Amazon. Thanks Amazon and your sellers for making it available for me, all year long!

Garam Masala, an aromatic Indian spice blend

When I first became obsessed with Indian cooking, I taught myself from books, and did everything by hand, including roasting and grinding my own spice blends from whole spices. (If you want to teach yourself Indian cooking, check out my "So You Want To..." guide for helpful cookbooks.) Since then, I have tried many pre-made spice blends, most of them lacking in flavor when compared to what I make myself. And then I found Neera's Garam Masala on the shelf at the market, and discovered that this amazing product is as intense, lively and flavorful as the garam masala I used to spend HOURS making. HOORAY!! I was very happy to find it online at Amazon, because the markets I shop at do not carry specialty products consistently, so I was becoming frustrated when I couldn't find a new jar as my old jar was starting to look empty. DOUBLE HOORAY!! This is great stuff, and now I never have to be without. :)

I am a curry nut. I've been trying to cook curry sauces and experiment constantly with mixing different curry spices. This one I find works great in either tomato, chicken broth or coconut based sauces. I've used this for both meats and vegetarian curry. Its also great simply sprinkled on kabobs or seared/baked chicken. I've not tried it on fish so can't vouch for that. Only warning is you may want to order more than one at a time I could buy this by the case. This is the only Garam Masala I use. Highly recommend.

Arrowhead Mills Maple Buckwheat Flakes

Arrowhead Mills products are outstanding, and their buckwheat flour is one of our kids all time favorites especially in buckwheat pancakes where we do little more than add water, a little vanilla, water, and stir... so we figured 'what could be better than our favorite buckwheat pressed into flakes'? Well... almost.

These flakes have a great texture and are very crispy, and they do not lose their crispiness quickly when in the bowl with milk. There is also a hint of maple glaze about them that might add to keeping them from getting soggy.

They are really great with ripe, sweet peaches cut up and added to them, and they are excellent with strawberries and raspberries. However, by when served alone, with no fruit to sweeten the offering, they just do not get an A+ grade from us. Again, the texture and crispness is excellent, but the taste just falls flat -they do not scream "Buckwheat" at all... instead, they are kinda like a better frosted flakes product without the added sugar.

In our humble opinion, buy these instead of buying store bought frosted flakes but make sure that you have a nice, sweet, natural accompaniment to go with them. If you don't expect the earthy buckwheat flavor to really show itself, then you will not be disappointed. Glad we tried them and would do it again if another free shipping deal comes along.
