McCann's Irish Oatmeal, Instant Oatmeal, Variety Pack, 3 Flavors, 10 Packets, 12.7 oz (361 g)

I realize that breakfast is really important, but as a busy full-time "non-traditional" undergrad, it's not always easy to fit it into my schedule. I'm always looking for something quick and nutritious, and I had tried various brands of instant oatmeal. They were OK -pleasant tasting, somewhat filling, good in a pinch.

Then I found McCann's Instant Irish Oatmeal -oh my!!!!! I've died and gone to breakfast heaven! Seriously, this is amazingly good stuff. The Apple Cinnamon is my favorite variety: full of chunks of apple, excellent cinnamon flavor, filling, really wonderful stuff. The Maple Brown Sugar is tasty, too -I usually throw in a couple of tablespoons of sultanas or currants for some added texture.

Well, I'm hooked. I can have a nice hot tasty breakfast in less time than it takes to feed the cat. Yeah, this is a little pricier than what you'll find at your local supermarket, but I think it's worth it.

Cereal Flakes with Chocolate- Cokolino, CASE, 14x7oz

I spent my childhood back in Croatia and if one thing I remember is Cokolino.There are different tastes but the flakes cereal with chocolate are the best.I have a baby again and Vivian is simply addicted to cokolino.Mix it with warm milk and make it thicker or mix it in the bottle and I guarantee that your baby won't wake up hungry all night.

Young or old...this is the best cereal on this whole entire world...so creamy, so chocolaty, so good. Kids love cokolino!!!!!

Mrs. May's Trio Bar Variety Pack, 1.2-Ounce bars (Pack of 20)

I loved the taste of this product but just noticed they are made in China. I contacted the company to get more information. They said they test for quality but in fact the list they gave me was for bacterial contaminants only. They do not test for lead or other heavy metals, just salmonella, aflatoxin and microbiological testing. And they do not own the factory, they just contract out the production and inspect the factory.

As for the ingredients, some of them are from China, such as the malt syrup. And the US ingredients are shipped all the way to China, the product is made, then it is shipped all the way back. This was to cut costs according to a business journal report on the company. I hate to see what the carbon production is for each bar based on that practice. And for the price they sell the product for, which is quite expensive, this way of saving a buck speaks poorly to the company's ethics. I for one will no longer buy this product.

Country of origin is part of my decision making process. I am posting this for others who may have similar concerns.

I picked up a case of these at costco because I was curious. they were a great price, and the ingredient list looked good. My first impressions were that they were Waaaay too hard and crunchy I felt like I might break a tooth on these things! But maybe someone younger would not worry so much about that :). My second concern was when I read the small print that these are manufactured in China...not so good in my book. As everyone has seen, in recent years china's foodchain has had some tremendous snafus and quality control issues, which I doubt are resolved yet. I also am weary to support a company that would ship snack bars all the way from china to save a few cents on each. Currently I'm using both "Bora Bora" bars and "Oskri" mixed nut bars, which I think are both much better quality (and much easier on my teeth, and organic, and made in North America, blah blah blah). But these will cost you some more. Bottom line, if you don't fall in love with these, or you share my concerns about China's quality control on basic food ingredients, then just shop around...

Purchased two boxes in the past. Latest order tasted very different and was stale (kind of had a moldy taste but no visible mold). Called Mrs. May's and they said there was nothing they could do about it. These are a product of China and the bars tasted really different like they had bad ingredients or had gone bad. Mrs. May's representative was not concerned and treated me like I was trying to scam them. Great product idea but I won't be buying any of their products in the future. Read the label and consume at your own risk.

The box shows Best Before Feb 28 2010, but they taste stale. Some bars are broken in pieces. I wonder how long they have been on the shelf? Very disappointed.

Simply Granola Low Carb, Gluten Free, Sugar Free & Vegan

Watch your portion size. Just because it says low carb, doesn't mean you can eat the whole bag. But, on a side note, this is some yummy granola! My husband is pretty picky about his granola and he critiques the various flavors he finds. He really like this as well and he hates the sugar free stuff I try to get him to eat. I actually tried to make my own version of this after I tried it, but I had an EPIC FAIL that included have burned and half mush granola. I would buy this more often, but it is a bit too expensive for me. I would love to have this on some yogurt, but they did away with the SF carbsmart yogurt in my area. Still looking of course! If only they had some plain soy yogurt... no sugar added... I would be in HEAVEN! This product is worth buying once just to try.

Update 6/1/13. Of course I was frivolous and bought this twice more. I just loved it so much that I had to have it again. Ad yes this was after two more desperate attempts to make my own. Needless to say it dresses up some fage yogurt or vanilla ice cream, not to mention as cold cereal. I hate to admit it, but I will probably buy it again.

I like the product and may order it again. However, I felt it was a little expensive for the size of container you receive.

Not bad for a low-carb granola. Does not compare well, taste-wise, to standard granola. I mixed this with my other low-carb cereal and it adds a nice additional dimension of flavor. I did not like it enough to eat it all by itself, however.

It is nice to find something that isn't the same thing you are stuck with at chain stores.

The granola is great for toppings. I live in northern California and down the road is a fruit stand... fresh peaches, strawberries, blackberries.With the granola on top you can eat it cold or top sweetened fruit and warm it... it's like cobbler!
