My family eats Ouaker Old Fashioned whole rolled oatmeal almost every day for breakfast but it can be served differently every day. Some days we'll have it with frozen blueberries (thawed, of course) or mixed berries. Other days we'll have it with sliced bananas or peaches or apples and cinnamon. Ocean Spray Crasins 12oz are really good with a little sugar or Splenda No Calorie Sweetener, Granular, Individual Packets, 700-Count Box. In the fall we often add pumpkin pie spice or nutmeg and cinnamon. A little sweet molasses is good too. Walnuts, sliced almonds or hazelnuts add a whole new dimension. The variety is only limited by your imagination.
I prefer Ouaker Old Fashioned Oats over the Quick cooking oats because the Quick Oats tend to be more mushy in consistency while the Old Fashioned keep some of their shape after cooking. And it doesn't take that much longer in the microwave. For a single serving 3 minutes is just about right and 2-1/2 minutes works too. If you prefer to do them on the stove it's about 5 minutes. I put it in the microwave while I'm making coffee.
I don't like breakfast cereals with a lot of ingredients, especially ones that I don't recognize. Ouaker Oats have only one ingredient: whole rolled oats. Along with some iron, riboflavin, and thiamin, it has 4 grams of fiber per half cup serving (that's about a cup when cooked), 2 grams of soluble fiber and 2 grams of insoluble fiber. It even has 5 grams of protein. At only 150 calories per cup cooked, it's a bargain if you're trying to lose weight. There are no added vitamins or minerals, all of the nutrients are naturally occurring. Many of the cereals that you see on the store shelves have lots of added vitamins and stuff that sounds like chemicals. To me that just means that they've refined and processed out so many of the good things that they have to artificially add them back in. (like enriched flour in some breads). If I want non-naturally occurring vitamins I'll take a vitamin pill, I don't want extra things added to my food, thank you. I also don't want a jolt of sugar at breakfast time which messes with my blood sugar levels for the rest of the morning. Just a cup of Quaker Oatmeal keeps me feeling full until lunch and the fiber helps keep me regular.
The price, compared to other prepared cereals is a bargain. Amazon changes prices from time to time, so watch and order it when the price is low. Subscribing will also save you some money. Remember that when cooked and absorbs the water you add, the volume is twice as much. I don't think you can beat oatmeal when you factor in the nutritional benefits like fiber for a good filling breakfast.
Ordered the 4 pack and when i got it all four containers had their bottoms collapsed. To make things worse, this item doesn't qualify for returns. Containers have flimsy bottoms, and at least in my case none of them survived the trip.
I was going to make a video review, but then i thought who wants to see a guy holding up handfuls of oatmeal?...

Quaker Oats has been in business since the 1850s (per their website) so we know they sell a quality product. We've eaten Quaker oatmeal for decades both the little instant flavored packets when we're in a hurry and the old fashioned slower cooking type when mornings aren't so rushed. We buy it because it's healthy, inexpensive and filling. These old fashioned oats cook up creamy and chewy, with lots of fiber. Add some jam, maple syrup or brown sugar, and some raisins or chopped walnuts to the top before serving, and you have a delicious and stick-with-you breakfast you won't feel guilty about. It's a great alternative to sugary cereals and it puts something warm in your stomach on cold mornings.
I'm confused about some of the other reviews on this product regarding the price. When I bought this oatmeal (sold by Amazon, not a private vendor), it was $11.92 for four 42 oz. canisters. That works out to $1.13 per pound with free SuperSaver shipping. If you choose Subscribe and Save, the price drops to .96 cents per pound with free shipping. At Walmart this week, Quaker oatmeal in a 42 oz canister sold for $2.98, which is $1.14 per pound. Not only is it cheaper per ounce when sold by Amazon, but you don't have to go get it using your gas and car.
I've ordered this 4-pack several times and love the value and wholesomeness of it.

I ordered this oatmeal on a whim one day after running out of Quaker and being too lazy to go to the grocery store. I was pleasantly surprised; the flavor is better than Quaker and the nutritional profile is better as well, particularly the amount of protein and fiber in the oatmeal.
