I have been eating Wheatena for over 60 years. It's the most hearty, tasty, filling, cereal I have ever found. Now, because of cholesterol concerns, I mix the dry cereal with oat bran for its soluble fiber, and quinoa for its complete protein (helps cut down on animal protein). I eat the cooked combination with soy milk. I can't find Wheatena in stores all the time so I'm thankful that I can get it via Amazon.com.

My wife had mentioned that with winter coming on she wishes she had some Wheatena . Every time I was in a grocery store I went to the cereal isle looking for her Wheatena ,,,but no luck. On a hunch one day I searched Wheatena on Amazon. I was so happy to get it for her...She was so happy the day it was delivered and has already enjoyed a few bowls full. She says it tastes better if you make it with milk...My one complaint is that it was VERY expensive breakfast cereal when you purchase it with the shipping costs plus the cereal . Wheatena Cereal is hard to find in the Maryland Virginia area. It has been one of my personal favorites for a long time, and I am glad that Amazon handles it. The Wheatena arrived in about 4 days and Super Saver Shipping was really fast on it. If you like Wheatena I would recommend you buy it from Amazon.
I have tried different brands of grits and find this one to be the very best. Even though they are quick cooking grits, you can cook them as long as you need to. Their flavor is also better. I would buy again. My favorite recipe is: Creamy Grits-2tbs salted butter or 2tbs unsalted butter +1/4 tsp salt. 2 cups water,1/2 c stone ground grits. 1-2 c milk, half n half or stock.Drop the butter into water,bring to boil.Stir in grits, return to boil & reduce heat. cook 10 min. or until thick,stirring to prevent sticking.Add about 1/2 cup milk or cream, simmer 10 min. As the liquid evaporates add more milk until its the consistency you want. Can cook up to an hour. Wonderful. recipe from hoppin' John's low country cooking.

I did read the disclaimer, but was still a bit surprised when the package arrived. The boxes of grits were nothing like the description. The photo used in the ad is apparently a stock photo of some kind? While that was only annoying, what ruined it for me was the fact that these are quick grits. Please, don't call them Southern Style, if they are quick or instant grits. I ordered these at the end of January and did not receive quick grits as a previous reviewer did. I would have been mightly unhappy with quick grits as they don't deserve to ever even be labeled as grits...more like nasty hominy corn product. Anyhow, these are decent grits, they're ground to a good consistency and cook just fine.
I bought this because I have recently switched over just about all of my food to organics. I was so happy to see that I could fix something that seems like a treat and yet was pretty darned good for you without being loaded with chemicals. I bought a waffle iron (the Presto Flipside--also 5 stars!)just for this batter. It works great in the iron and tastes amazing in the mouth! My family loves getting a special belgian waffle breakfast with berries on top every once in a while just to switch it up. You can make extra and freeze them then heat them in your oven on the rack again in about 12 minutes. I love it when DELICIOUS and CONVENIENT are combined with HEALTHY! I haven't even tried it for pancakes yet, but I'm sure it's just as wonderful.
I was very happy with these dried apricots. They were clearly superior to more expensive product I purchased at my local supermarket. They have a very nice flavor and there were no tough, overly dry pieces as I have found in other products. The one pound container is very convenient and, in my kitchen, was suitable for storage after opening. My box of six one-pound containers arrived in good shape, perhaps because it was part of a larger, well packed order. I intend to order the product again.

I love apricots and have been fortunate to have travelled to Turkey and had real Turkish dried apricots. While traveling there I had found there were definite differences in size, taste, quality and freshness. These imported Turkish apricots are very good quality with excellent flavor and consistency. Having read the previous reviews I was concerned about the packaging, however they came in perfect shape. They are very well packaged six clear plastic tubs arrived in their own cardboard box (like a six-pack of bottled beer) covered in clear plastic all around, and packaged again in amazon's usual box with air pillows. if the tubs get broken, then the two boxes they are all contained in have to get crushed as well. This brand's attributes are nicely positioned between Harmony (tough) and Sun Maid (soft and sticky). The pieces are large: only 5 per quarter cup as opposed to 6 for the other two brands. I had no problems with the packaging: the plastic film seal was intact on all my containers. firstly, the packaging. all of the tubs were opened, plastic cracked, tubs lids do not fit the bowls so they can't actually close and seal the contents, it looked like one tub was eaten out of, apricots missing. Looks like this stuff gets shipped from turkey and they repackage it in Brooklyn into really lousy packaging that does not fit. i used to live in Brooklyn, that place is full of rats. the fact that all the tubs came opened, lids don't fit, and plastic seal is broken is beyond disgusting. i can only imagine under what circumstances they were repacked down there in brooklyn. again disgusting.
I use Bob's Red Mill 7 Grain cereal in a really good recipe. I add in different kinds of dried fruits and cook it in my crock pot. When I wake up in the morning I have yummy hot cereal. I can't find this product in any store around me. I am so glad Amazon.com found it for me. Thank you!

High Fiber, moderate protein and authentic texture. Full of healthy nutrients. This is a great base hot cereal. You can add brown sugar, peanut butter, fruits, protien powder and you would stay full for hours. I looooooooove Fiber One bars! The Oats & Chocolate flavor is my favorite. They taste soooo good! We buy them in the big packs at BJ's because my husband & I each have at least 1 every day. They are filling enough that I can eat that for breakfast, or for a quick snack on-the-go. We used to eat Quaker granola bars but the Fiber One bars taste way better & are far more filling. I've tried this granola once beforetried a sample at a coffee shop and I remember it being crunchy. Although the package I ordered is tasty, the texture is more chewy, which leads me to believe it arrived a bit stale.
but the consistency of the Cream of Wheat is pretty runny and I like my hot cereal thicker. I need to try using less water. What I REALLY wish is that the Cream of Wheat folks would make a Cinnabon version of their product that you cook on the stovetop. Now I think that would be perfect. However, as a quick little something to take to work or for a midnight snack this works pretty well.

All of the Dorset cereals are great but the dark blue box is the best. It is not too sweet and has a ton of nuts along with oats & dried fruits. Hardly any grocery stores carry Dorset anymore so it is great that Amazon still sells it!
