Eden Sprouted Brown Rice Mochi, 10.5-Ounce Packages (Pack of 2)

So very similar in taste to the traditional Japanese white mochi I grew up with and so much healthier. Wish it wasn't so expensive but would buy again as this is a difficult item to find elsewhere.

I find this brand of mochi to be very high quality. I've purchased other brands within the sell-by date and found mold on them or seeds from other plants--never with this brand.

The consistency is very smooth meaning the grains are pounded down a lot. Being mochi and being sprouted it is a very easily digested food which does provide more stamina than just boiled brown rice. There are so many creative ways to cook it. If you are fond of brown rice you will probably like this, too. Chewing is necessary but there is no blood-sugar spike as there is with white rice.

I love Mochi. Love, love love it. I've never had brown rice mochi, but I thought it would be fun to try it. I couldn't finish the pack because the brown rice flavor was so different from the white rice mochi that I love. And when I cooked it up, it was a bit chewy, but if I cooked it longer, it became very hard and difficult to bite. I wish Amazon had white rice mochi available because it is a long drive to our nearest Asian store.

I would order this every month if the price wasn't so unreasonable. For now, this will be a one time thing.

We're seniors now & have had Carnation Instant breakfast

in our home for at least fourty yers. We enjoy it as much

today as we always have. We're ordinarily not real big on

a sit down breakfast & so we appreciate having the nourishment

Years ago Carnation used to make a coffee flavored Instant

Breakfast srink & it was killer good! Seems like as many

varied coffee products selling so well these days they would

bring it back. We'd love that, & so might you. :)

I love that I can order Carnation Vanilla packets on line for a dollar less then the stores (if you can find vanilla). Also get it in 2 days. Now these guys were $2.50 off per 10 packets and I saved over $40 on the order. Can't do much better than that.

The Carnation website says all powders (except 'malt' flavored) are gluten-free, but the label gives the disclaimer that it is processed in a facility that also handles wheat products This is the response I got today:

"In response to your inquiry, yes, the Chocolate Malt flavor is the only flavor containing barley malt, which would contain some gluten. The other flavors in the powders are made on the same lines as the Chocolate Malt, which does increase the slight chance of any cross-contamination of gluten. We do take all precautions in minimizing any gluten coming in contact with the other flavors but cannot guarantee they be gluten free. Also, we do not test the amount of gluten in the flavors. If you are highly sensitive to gluten, we recommend you not use the Carnation Instant Breakfast Essentials drinks. Please speak with your physician for more information.

For a completely gluten free nutritional drink, we would like to bring to your attention the all Boost nutritional drinks are gluten free. There is also no risk of cross-contamination as the Boost products are made in a separate facility."

My 4 year old has been drinking these since he was 1.5 years old. He is allergic to raw vitamins or chewy vitamins so he gets his vitamin supplements from the Breakfast Essentials/Instant Breakfast. The vanilla flavor is the best flavor of them all. I highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't feel like they have time to eat a good breakfast or get breakfast at all. It has a decent amount of calories and packed with vitamins. For a reduced sugar diet I recommend the "no added sugar" counterpart of this product. It tastes less sugary and more like vanilla milk.

They are low in sugar and taste delicious. I love them.

This granola is delicious, and I'm very picky. It is chewy, not overly sweet like some, and has the nutritious ingredients I love. Problem is I can't stop eating it.

Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Whole Grain, Steel Cut Oats, 24-Ounce Bags (Pack of 4)

I cook my oats in a crockpot overnight. I throw in cinnamon, diced apples and a little organic raw apple juice in place of 50% of the water. Between the apples and apple juice the oatmeal needs no additional sugar and my house smells amazing in the morning when we all wake up!

These are the most delicious steel cut oats I have found, and they're certified to be gluten-free too! They're yummy and satisfying and give me long-lasting energy all morning. Since I'm always rushed in the morning, I put them in the pan at night and soak them in water. I use more water than the directions call for (maybe about four times as much water as oats). If you're going to add raisins, you can soak those right along with the oats. Then in the morning I just turn the heat on, bring them to a boil, cover and turn down to the lowest simmer. I like to cook them for 20 minutes, and they cook while I'm showering. They don't need to be stirred at all as long as you keep the heat really low and use plenty of water. Afterwards, I let them sit in the pan until I'm ready, and then before I eat them, I mix in a tablespoon of chia seeds. Not only does this add even more soluble fiber and omega 3 fatty acids, but it thickens up the porridge perfectly. Yum!

This is a staple item for me. I can't say enough great things about it. It's a good source of fiber and protein. Low calorie....Love this stuff. I typically add agave nectar or organic maple syrup as a sweetener. I also use chopped walnuts, banana, cinnamon, dates, raisins, and chopped apples. The only other steel cut oats I've tried were Quaker. They were OK but I think I like these better. They are cut into smaller pieces so they cook to the texture I like in a little less time. Cooking time is still about 20 minutes. I don't need Gluten Free so I don't know if it makes any difference in the taste or texture but for those with a need to avoid Gluten, this is the one to buy. I add Bob's Red Mill Dried Cranberries to these after they're cooked but still warm excellent!
