Our household is one of madness on regular mornings. Our family is closeknit and loving, but with everyone heading off in different directions and leaving at different times, it can sometimes turn into a mad rush. Tempers can flare and chaos has been know to raise it's ugly head.

Carnation Instant Breakfast Drink has actually helped much to calm the chaos. We put milk and a packet in the blender, push the button, and there ya have it! BREAKFAST! On hot mornings I allow the kids to add ice cream which helps them to cool down a bit, and still have something nutritious.

It's probably not the nutrional equivalent of bacon & eggs, but I know that the kids are at least getting something for breakfast. For me, that's good enough!

My 2.5 year old toddler is a very picky eater and has always been off the graph since he was 9 months old. Till January 2010, he was only 22 lb when he should have been closer to 30 lb. We decided to try Breakfast essentials in the morning and evening (about 4 to 6 ounces of milk). It has worked good for us and our toddler has gained around 2 lb in the last 1.5 months. Our pediatrician has recommended that we continue with it till he is 3.5 years old and if the improvement continues, he should be back on the graph.

I would recommend this product for any parent who is looking to improve their child's weight as weight is always a determination of a child's developmental growth.

Carnation Breakfast Essentials is great if your short for time, but want to get some nutrition before heading out. I selected milk chocolate and enjoy it's taste. My only regret is that I didn't get the assorted flavor pack. I've tried them all and enjoyed each. Next time I will get the assorted. Adds a little variety.

All flavors of this product are excellent. My wife needed to gain weight after surgery and the nurse recommended making smoothies using these flavors, plus milk and ice cream with strawberries or bananas etc.for a delightful and healthy drink. They are great. A banana goes great with either the vanilla or strawberry. Using real, or frozen strawberies with the Vanilla makes a strawberry drink. I highly recommend these.

Really moist and delicious and convenient--a simply great and easy way to start you day and kids will love them too!

These muffins were very moist and stayed that way until opened. After several weeks, they were still moist and fresh. They are a little small, but there are two in a package. The only problem is that they tend to stick to the paper cups a little, but this is not enough of a problem to keep me from buying more.

It arrived today. Delivery was extremely slow. The muffins seem quite good although I have eaten only one.

My disappointment was in the flour used. It is a very fine flour and so the muffin bites and chews more like a cake than a real muffin.

The muffins are good. I simply can't enjoy them because not a single one of them remained intact.

Maybe they could have been packed a little better, but i doubt it would have made much of a difference. Lesson learned; i will no longer buy such fragile items from the internet.

Buy these muffins in a store where you can check them and make sure they're not broken, and can keep them safe in your car until they get to your kitchen.

Glutino Gluten Free Pantry Muffin Mix, 15-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

...these muffins are a big disappointment. See that lovely BROWNED muffin top on box picture? Welllll, I've tried several boxes of these, using different oven temperatures, making them plain, with fruit, with nuts, with everything I could think of except chocolate (hmmm, maybe I'll try that!) The tops stay a pale, pasty WHITE! Sooo unappetizing. And false advertising, IMHO.

Now for the taste. Another disappointment. They are bland bland bland, blah, blah, blah! You MUST add additional ingredients or they are just plain, uh, RICEY tasting and if you're an older celiac, you know what I mean. Those first corporate attempts at making GF mixes were hideous! These are no better. Yuck!

Now for the size. I'm a pretty doggone accomplished baker if I do say so myself, both prior to my diagnosis in 1985 with non-GF ingredients, and since, using mixes and baking from scratch. These just don't RISE! See the photo with that lovely dome muffin shape? Nuh-uh. Perhaps they use old, REALLY old leavening? Dunno. But they puff up only about 1/16" of a centimeter. Maybe. But I doubt it.

Now for the boxed ingredients. Cheesh, you have to add all of the EXPENSIVE stuff to make these work. Butter, milk, eggs, and fruit/nuts/whatever. Fer cryin' out loud, it's truly no more trouble, and a WHOLE lot cheaper to make muffins from scratch.

I desperately wanted to love these and give a great review. But I just cannot. Make your own muffins and save your hard-earned money for some of the Gluten-free Pantry's other mixes I rate the following 5 stars without hesitation:

Country French Bread mix absolutely delicious!! We use our bread machine and they come out PERFECT every time! And when we've used regular oven, in our french bread loaf pans, we add some toasted sesame seeds, and they are incredible.

Chocolate Truffle Brownie Mix OMG completely addictive!! Gotta watch out for these if you're on a diet. You'll want to gobble up the whole batch!

Beth's All Purpose Flour quick & easy to use for all your baking (including those homemade muffins).

Spice Cake and Gingerbread Mix delicious and sooooo easy I can prepare it faster than it takes my oven to heat up. (Isn't that one of the BEST reason for buying a mix?) I add additional cinammon, nutmeg, ginger we like it that way.

Coffee Cake Mix fantastic and EASY the crumble topping is included. Wonderful for a breakfast treat and NOT just for Celiacs.

So that's about it. Try it you may like it. Hey that's what makes horse racing! But don't buy a whole case in the event that you don't.

Regards to all you brave Celiacs out there. Let's hope that someday science can find a solution for us to make our lives a little easier. In the meantime, heaven bless these fabulous companies for providing us with these products.

These are my absolute favorite go-to GFCF muffins! At first I was put off by having to add the flavoring myself (having previously used Jiffy mixes), but now I like the ability to personalize the flavoring without having to stock dozens of different mixes. However, since my 9-y-o ASD son has texture issues, dried fruits are NOT an option for us (he just drops the fruit, or the rest of the muffin, when he comes to it), so I just measure 3/4 cup of all-fruit spread. Easy and versatile! I've also used fresh mashed banana and canned pumpkin. Even made it one time with just OJ instead of milk and no mix-ins (we were at my folks' and had already started mixing when we realized there was no GFCF milk); they were delicious that way, too!

One tip I would like to share with everyone: Instead of mixing the whole package of dry ingredients and the whole cup of milk at once, mix like an old-fashioned cake recipe and alternate the dry & the milk. It makes the batter lighter and you get more muffins. (I average 22!)

This is the best gluten-free baking mix out there. The scones are an every-weekend treat for me. Switch out different chopped nuts and dried fruits (orange-flavored dried cranberries make for an incredible scone) for unlimited variety. A box makes 12. I like to mix up the whole batch, make three (or four when I'm feeling extra piggy), and refridgerate the batter for later baking. I prefer to shape the unused dough into a thick log, so I can cut off a few scones and bake over the next few days. (I've never tried to extend it for longer than that.)

This is one of those products that makes the wheatless life not bad at all.

Please know that I've been GF for >10 years so my history is mostly making GF bakery items from scratch. That said, I was skeptical about this mix and bypassed it many times before giving it a try. Holy cows! am I gald I did try it. Yes, one must add a couple ingredients to complete the task what's the problem with that? I like adding my own fresh ingredients and the idea that I can be as creative as I want with this 'box of scratch'.

For me, I like using the mix for cranberry scones best of all. I prepare/bake the entire batch, eat what I want whilst warm and freeze the rest as they will dry out quickly. The scones that will be frozen I allow to cool and then wrap each one individually with foil and place in a ziplock bag. When I want a scone I just pull one out and remove the foil, wrap in a napkin and pop in the microwave for 20 or 30 seconds, or just allow to thaw in the foil to eat later.

I have made beautiful chocolate chip muffins with the mix but prefer the scones much more. Although I never was a of lover pancakes or waffles (I guess because they made me sick) but I decided to try the pancake recipe on the box...who knew orange juice would be a good addition to a pancake recipe...I love the pancakes and make them often. This mix is very easy to work with and I'm happy getting it through the subscribe & save program because it is very economical and easy.

This is the best gluten free muffin mix I have been able to find. My whole family is impressed, even the ones who aren't GF. The mix also makes the best pancakes, gluten free mix or not. We were all very suprised, and I've already bumped up our subscription to get more.

I read a review that said the muffins didn't rise and didn't look like what was on the box. I don't know if maybe they've changed the recipe since that was written, but our muffins have all turned out great, both the taste and the look.

You do need to let them cool completely. If you just can't wait, you'll be scraping the muffin off of the cupcake liner. I've made banana nut and blueberry. The mix does say to add dried fruit, and I have used fresh or frozen fruit instead. I don't know if that made a difference. I haven't tried the scone recipe yet, but am looking forward to it.

Of course, the cost is higher than mixes that are not gluten free, and you do have to add butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk, but I'm just thankful to have found something so good.

Emerald Nuts Deluxe Mixed Nuts, 10-Ounce Canisters (Pack of 4)

I have been buying Emerald Deluxe Mixed Nuts for quite a while now and have never encountered a bad or a stale nut. I buy the 10 oz size because it's just right to pour into a bowl when company comes. If they aren't all eaten, just pour back into the container and they'll stay fresh for quite a while. I love Emerald's mixture of walnuts, almonds, cashews, pecans--AND NO PEANUTS! Peanuts are legumes, not true nuts, and don't belong in a cocktail nut mixture. To me, they overwhelm the taste of "real" nuts. Sure, these cost a little more, but aren't you worth it? I know I am!

I LOVE this Deluxe Nut Mix! I happened to make the purchase because I had a $1.00 coupon. Better than Planters and yaaay! No peanuts! As others have mentioned, I did notice the "mystery" nut yummy and not hard like the roasted almonds in other mixes. Since there was a review which expressed concern that it was an apricot kernal, I called Diamond Foods today. The mystery nut is a Marcona Almond. (If you google Marcona almond, you'll see pics as well). Donna in Consumer Relations told me they used to just have the marconas, but they are a more expensive gourmet nut so now they have two types of almonds. She also noted that they receive lots of calls regarding the "mystery" nut.

I did suggest that given that so many consumers have noticed it and it seems to really make this type of impression, perhaps they should specifically list it in the ingredients or just note it in the description on the label somewhere.

So no apricot kernals. :)

I purchased these as a healthy choice. I'm concerned about the last ingredient "natural flavoring." I don't need natural flavoring on my nuts. I wouldn't have purchased them if I had known this prior to making the purchase. Initially I was thinking that these were the most delicous nuts on earth now I know why, they are altered by something they call natural. There's no phone number on the container? but there is an email address. I will update this after I hear from them.

These are really good. I just finished eating one. Wonderful flavor and very satisfying with a nice chewy consistency. Fresh tasting...not artificial. These are not heavy on the chocolate, but the combination of all the ingredients gives a very good flavor. They have 19g of sugar, but I think most of that comes from the dates and the nectar. No refined sugar. I will purchase again or maybe, I'll get some Miniature Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, next time. I see Amazon sells those, too. Yum! Those are my weakness.

I bought the Blueberry Walnut along with the Honey Almond. Both are good, and shipping was fast; those are what the two stars are for. The others are empty because this was advertised as a pack of 30, and in reality it is a pack of 6! I contacted the seller, and they defended themselves stating that there are indeed 30 pouches. 30 1.5 oz packages that is, not 30 packs of 5, which they seem to be advertising in their title.

"If it seems too good to be true, it probably is." Just makes me sick that I paid so much for these.

Green Mountain Coffee K-Cup for Keurig K-Cup Brewers, Half-Caff

I am trying to decrease my caffeine intake and this coffee is perfect for it...it tastes great and still has a good amount of caffeine but not too much

I loved the flavor and strength of the Green Mountain Breakfast Blend. Since the fully caffinated Breakfast Blend was not available on Amazon, I shopped for the next best thing. I thought it would be a great idea to purchase the 1/2 caff, and perhaps I would get the same great flavor, same milder coffee and quality as the regular Green Mountain I was used to (with half the caffine). WRONG. Although still a perfectly drinkable coffee, the 1/2 caff seems to be a darker roast and not nearly as mild as the fully caffinated Breakfast Blend. Actually tasted bitter, as compared to it's fully caffinated counterpart. Priced well and free shipping as an Amazon Prime member, so that's a plus. I won't throw it out, but did go right out shopping for the Breakfast Blend I was used to. This box of Half-Caff will be for "emergency" use for me.

I've been percolating coffee for 30+ years. To me, there is nothing like a percolator for a really good, HOT cup of coffee. However, even though I only drank two cups per day, if I missed my morning java, I would get one of those 'caffeine headaches;' not very pleasant. So, about 10 years ago, I started mixing equal parts of regular and decaffeinated coffee, thus solving my problem; I could still get a little caffeine boost without the withdrawal. Then we got a Keurig at work, and while I really liked the convenience, I didn't want to go back to 100% caffeineated coffee. I tried two different decaf K-Cup flavors and they were terrible. Then I heard about Half-Caff. It's delicious; a perfect blend of caffeine & decaf, and dare I say, just as good as my percolated coffee, which I never imagined. Actually, I have to say its better because of the convenience. In short, because of Half-Caff, I bought a Keurig for my house, and Half-Caff is the only flavor K-Cup I use (I don't like flavored coffee) Highly recommended! Well, gotta go have my coffee now...

I needed a half-caff coffee to use in my Keurig to get me thru the afternoon (but not keep me up all night). This coffee does do the job.

The only negative is a matter of my own taste. I MUCH prefer dark roasted coffee, and this is definitely light-to-medium. Tastes like Denny's coffee. Just fine, not earth-shattering...

My very favorite K-cup coffee is Obsidian (by Caribou) to get a sense of what I wished it tasted like!

Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted, 3 pound box (two 1.5 pound bags)

This is my first time using "subscribe and save", and it has been quite worth it. And the kids like getting a huge box like this.

I did purchase some plastic containers as the big box is kind of hard to pour out of, but I'm about to receive my second shipment of the cereals that I purchased through subscribe and save. The program is pretty neat I cancelled the shipment that was supposed to arrive while we were on vacation, and I just ordered an "extra" shipment to replace that one. Pretty handy, and very little work.

And you can't beat the price.

I have been subscribed to this for about 6 months now and go through the two pack on a monthly basis usually. Haven't had any problems with it and the cereal is delicious.

Cereal came as advertized. The outer box itself was a tad dented on the edges. The cereal itself was not crushed so all is good. We would order cereal online again.

This product comes in a box that looks about appropriate for a warehouse club store wrapped in a green plastic wrap. Of course, it does go on sale from time to time, at which point you would want to reevaluate for yourself.
