Barry's Gold Blend Tea

Years ago,I was introduced to Barry's Gold Blend Tea by a priest from Ireland. Members of his family would ship it to him and he made some for me. It is simply the best tea in the world. This was before you could get a lot of products online and when I went off to college I had to live without it. I am delighted to now be able to have it shipped right to my door.

Like so many others, I had this tea on my first visit to Ireland.

After my first cup, I thought, "this is pretty good!"

After my second cup later, I thought, "this is pretty darn good."

The next day I bought a box to take home.

Then I started asking friends and co-workers to bring an extra suitcase on their trips to Ireland...

Over the next 20 years I heard the same story from many others here, "I asked a friend to bring an extra suitcase..."

I'm really happy that this tea is available here now, and my wife and I travel nowhere without bringing a sufficient supply of Barry's, as it really brightens our day in a way that is unmatched by any other tea (or coffee for that matter).

This is the "tea bag" version, so some loose leaf tea drinkers may suspect that the bags are filled with floor sweepings, as seems to be the case with many other tea bags.

Not so, this is the good stuff (although if you want the hassle, you can get this in loose-leaf).

I prepare it in a Krups coffee maker (this and a few others have the correct water temperature), set a timer for 6 minutes in good water (Brita faucet filtered, which beats bottled Mountain Spring water for taste, really, and costs $0.10 per gallon).

Don't follow my example and be led into a life-long addiction, stay away from this tea!

We had some at home, but I don't know where it came from, but on a whim I tried it for making a quick glass of ice tea (instead of a Lipton bag). In a rush, I made a mug of tea, let it cool a while then poured it into a big cup of ice. I am overwhelmed at how good it was. Not bitter at all (like the Lipton usually is) and a sort of natural sweetness (I take my ice tea unsweetened). What a treat! I am going to get more of Barry's for my ice tea and will try it as a morning hot tea as well.

Twist Naked Sponge, Small, 2 per Pack. This multi-pack contains 4 packs.

I like these sponges because they're chemical free, unlike the ones I can get in the grocery store that come with some nasty smelling stuff on them that I have to wash out. They work well and don't get all hard when they dry. It's a sponge, so there's not a lot to say. :)

The description says "24 sponges" with a price of $10.99 + $6.99 shipping. What you get is 1 package of 2 sponges rather than 12 packages of 2. I wrote to the seller about this and they claimed it was a listing error. They promptly refunded my money, including shipping charges, rather than shipping me the additional 22 sponges and claimed they would remove the listing.

Edit Nov. 29, 2011 I see they've left the quantity the same and changed the price to $38 with free shipping. At that price, I'm pretty confident they're shipping 24 sponges, not 2. They cost about $5 at my local grocery store, so $38 for 24 sponges is a great price.

KIND PLUS Gluten Free Bars (Pack of 12)

This bar has cranberries, almonds, and macadamia nuts (NOT bits and pieces!) as their main ingredients, in a soft honey-like glaze to keep it all together. I refrigerate them in the summer or they kind of "wilt". The ingredients are fresh, and the nuts are crunchy. What I really appreciate about these bars is that it really takes time to eat and enjoy them. Those nuts are meant to be chewed and not inhaled, unlike a lot of snacks that disappear as soon as you get the wrapper off. I can't eat one in front of my favorite dog, as this is one snack I am too fond of to share with her... much to her dismay. I think they are worth the cost, and I know they cost way more if you find them in a local grocery store.

I was looking forward to receiving this order. Almonds, macadamias, and walnuts! Sounded delicious.

Then I tried one, and was puzzled. Yes, I could taste some almond, but WOW, the main flavor was PEANUTS. The ingredients list peanuts as the largest amount of nuts. This should be called the Peanut, Almond Bar. If one likes to have the main flavor of a nut bar as peanuts, you will enjoy this.

The quality of KIND products I appreciate, as well as the low GI, the natural properties, and having a healthier choice. But honesty in advertising and product would be appreciated.

I was disappointed with the deception, and the unexpectedly strong flavor of peanuts, as I purchased it for the nuts I like best, which were supposed to be the main source of nut protein.

These were a staple for my gluten-free teenager until a few months ago when she started complaining that they tasted different, not in a good way. We found out that the company has moved to a new factory/producer and that the formula has changed in some ways. The flavor is not as fresh and tastes more like processed food. We are really disappointed and are hoping that the company can somehow find its way back to making really great bars.

I ordered the Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew bars and I was pleasantly surprised how good they tasted. My husband likes them and so does my daughter. The only thing is I wished they had a little less sugar. The nutritional facts say they have 14g of sugar. Now 14 grams of sugar is not bad if you are comparing it to a candy bar but for a nutritional bar I would ideally like 10g of sugar or less.

Yorkshire Gold - 40 Tea Bags

I read an interesting fiction who-dun-it book and all they talked about was tea! I'm thinking, "What the heck, I never knew that there was so much to tea. Thus, I began my quest to learn about and discover different teas & even researching the history of tea. There's lots to learn :)

I have this scheduled to be delivered through Amazon every few months as I get the big box. I love this tea's robust flavor because it has to stand up to my cream and sugar. I honestly think of this tea as "comfort food" I drink it through out the day. My only complaint I wished they made an organic version because I would get organic coffee if I drank it. Any suggestions on a really robust organic breakfast tea anyone?
