Canada Hemp Foods, Organic Hemp Seed Hearts

Canada Hemp Foods, Organic Hemp Seed Hearts, 8 ounce pouchGood product and healthy but a little pricey for the bag. Will look around to see if I can get a similar product locally or on Amazon for a lower price.

needed a source for extra protein without going into animal products. These work very nicely and add some really nice texture to my smoothie...

I add 3 tablespoons to my oatmeal in the morning, can't taste it at all. If you read the nutrition facts and are concerned about the fat content, it is all good fat and nothing to be concerned about. I would like to get more for my money, but this isn't really a product that i can pick up in the grocery store living in south Carolina. I do recommend this product of you prefer adding a little something to what you already eat instead of taking pills that smell like fish.

Irish Black Pudding (Ring)

Irish Black Puddingbeing from the midlands of england black pudding was sold in most butcher shops,so i had my fair share of it ,tommy moloneys pudding is very near the consitancy and taste that i grew up on ,however further up north it does vary ,they even have competitions for it,so for me i really liked this brand and will definately buy it again,in fact i prefer it to some of the german black puddings i have tried from new york

I bought the black pudding thinking it would be as tasty as what I eat when I go to Canada. The pudding had the same consistancy but it was bland. If it had a little more spices I would give it a 5 star.

I will buy it again. It is the only Black pudding that I can get in the USA.

after 6 years being married to a Brazilian that thinks Black Pudding is the worlds most disgusting food I have finally converted her. She smelt the pudding cooking and tried a bit, now we fight over who gets to eat it. Probably it would have been better that she not try it....

Received my CO2 chilled box a few days ago and transferred my sausages to the fridge with no issues. Very speedy shipping and excellent packing. Great shipping in the winter down here in FL, as the sausages were still ice cold when opened after sitting on the front stoop all day until I got home from work.

Appearance: Just like the picture, expect a wonderful meat tube of dark sausage wrapped in a delicate casing. I opened the tube by cutting the ends and gingerly slicing down the length of the curve to tease it away from the sausage. To prepare, I sliced the sausage with a sharp knife into manageable 2" lengths for hearty eating (slice thinner if preferred).

Cooked: Simply in a pan with some olive oil, although the oil wasn't necessary. Used medium heat and a longer cooking time turning the sausage pieces evenly in 1/4 inch turns and allowing the sausage to rest a good 2 mins in-between turns. Heat thoroughly until done. Carmelization was nice and the smell was wonderful.

Taste: Amazing. Velvety smooth blood pudding taste with hints of star anise, pepper and salt, and just how I remember it from childhood. Crispy exterior from the cooked casing and melt-in-your-mouth warm center. This sausage is absolutely authentic and delicious.

I can't recommend this black pudding enough to anyone craving a UK/Irish authentic flavor.

Great Black Pudding. Like the rashers of bacon and white pudding, it's the best I've had since I left Scotland. It's really too bad that these things aren't generally available in the stores here in the US, but with the ability to order it from Amazon, a taste of home is not far away.

Heartland Malted Harvest MultiGrain Belgian Waffle - All In One, Complete Mix - 80 Ounce Bag (Pack

Heartland Malted Harvest MultiGrain Belgian Waffle - All In One, Complete Mix - 80 Ounce Bag 5 lbs.Following the directions out of the box, the mix worked "okay".

Pro:

Top quality ingredients.

Whole family ate until we couldn't eat any more. Still that always happens with pancakes and waffles. Strange.

Cons:

With no oil content, I had to follow the suggestion of adding a small amount of oil to each batch to prevent sticking. Even with this and a well-oiled Waring Pro, it still stuck. Not sure if this is strictly speaking the mixes fault though, lol.

The real issue is that this is an overly sweet mix. I would suggest buying one with less sugar and just adding additional sweetening if you need it. Try their multigrain component.

Building into the "pro" that they use high quality ingredients, I think they could have just gone the extra little bit and made this organic. Why not?

Conclusion: Good USA brand. Try the multigrain. Suggestion to brand: go organic.

We have a big waffle maker -a Cuisinart 6 slicer that I adore. I love to make homemade waffles, but look to a mix to offer the homemade taste without all the work. This is the mix for us!

I can pronounce all the ingredients -so I know it is healthy. My kids like to eat waffles like toast -with a smear of peanut butter, so the sweetness of this waffle balances out the all-natural sugar-free peanut butter we use.

I usually add 2 tablespoons of melted butter to the mix to help with any kind of "sticking" to the waffle maker issue. I'd rather do that than spray with a non-stick spray.

I agree with another reviewer that this mix is too sweet. A look at the ingredients and nutrition facts explains why. This new "Harvest" multigrain has 50% more sugar than the old Heartland Malted Multigrain mix (15 grams per serving versus 10 grams in the old version). In addition to sugar the mix ALSO contains dextrose (a sugar) and "may" contain sucralose (aka Splenda) and or acesulfame potassium (another artificial sweetener). These extra sugars and sweeteners weren't in the old Multigrain mix.

Before buying this I scoured the web in vain looking for the ingredients. Due to positive reviews I bought it anyway. For those who are considering buying this, the ingredients are as follows:

"Contains: Wheat flour, whole wheat flour, oat flour, corn meal, may contain one of the following (soybean oil, sunflower oil, or coconut oil), sugar, whole egg, leavening (baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate, mono calcium phosphate), soy flour, malt, nonfat milk, salt, natural and artificial flavors, dextrose, may contain sucralose and/or acesulfame potassium, soy lecithin, caramel color".

The mix isn't terrible, although it's too sweet for me. However, it seems that some reviewers think that it is particularly healthy, I guess because it is called multigrain. Note, however, that this is not primarily a WHOLE grain product: the primary ingredient is plain white flour. Each serving has almost no vitamins or minerals, only 3 grams of fiber, only 5 grams of protein but has a lot of sodium: 910 mg. In fact, if you are interested in healthy eating, the Heartland Malted Vanilla mix has LESS calories, fat, cholesterol, sodium and sugar (plus has one gram more of fiber) than this Harvest Multigrain mix.

In summary, if you like your waffles sweet and don't mind the flavor of artificial sweetener then you may like this mix, but it's nothing special and doesn't make sense to buy in the belief that it is especially healthy.

It is this line of mixes that made me get a Belgian waffle maker in the first place. This multi-grain lives up to the high quality from this line of waffle mixes. Even our kids liked the multi-grain, which is really saying something!!

I had this waffles some time ago in a hotel and they were the best I had have, I had to ask the personal about the mix, and when I discover that they have the harvest one i decide to try it. They are crispy, spongy, delicious waffles, not too sweet as other reviews will say. I think this brand in general is the best for waffles and usually harvest multigrain products doesn't taste as good as the refined ones but this one does, you can go healthy without taste it :)

Nature's Path Organic Toaster Pastries, Berry Strawberry (Not Frosted), 6-Count Boxes (Pack of 12)

Nature's Path Organic Toaster Pastries, Berry Strawberry, 6-Count BoxesIt is a cut above your usual PoptartIt does not contain high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors or flavors, or any other additives. It even has organic ingredients and some whole wheat content! HOWEVER, I would not make these any more than an occasional treat. It does still contain 18 grams of sugar, and most of it is NOT from fruit. There is also only 1 gram of fiber, and only 3 grams of protein. It wouldn't hurt for the whole wheat content to be bumped up a little, and it wouldn't even be noticeable if white whole wheat flour was used, or some other healthy flour. The current combination will put your blood sugar on a roller coaster. It also has a lack of added vitamins, which is one of the only good points of other Poptarts.

As for the taste, it is pretty intense. You can really taste the strawberry! It's nice and slightly chewy, although not annoying, rubbery or tough. It sort of reminds me of a soft sugar cookie in terms of texture. Try it yo'self, and see what you thinkIt's still healthier than your average Poptart.

Yeah, I know, it's a matter of taste. But really, do we want so many things so awfully sweet?

There are a lot of flavors out there besides "sweet," you know.

These pastries aren't as sweet as Pop Tarts, very true. I find (and I'm talking unfrosted) that I prefer tasting the strawberry stuff and the pastry stuff rather than the sugar stuff. This is a concept that takes some getting used too; but it's really not all that difficult.

Not that these Nature's Path goodies aren't sweet; but they aren't as sweet, so sweet your mouth feels like it wants to go immediately to the dentist after you eat one.

Shall we mention that these just may be better for you? Well, I'm no nutritionist, so let's leave that part to the scientists in the crowd.

I stopped eating pop-tarts because of all the junk that was in them (hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, etc).

I tried these and wow! They are actually better tasting than pop-tarts. They still have the rich buttery crust, but their filling is actual fruit, and tastes incredible.

These look exactly the same as pop-tarts, right down to the foil wrapper and little grooves on the back of the pastry. They have organic ingredients though, and no hydrogenated oils, white flour, or artificial colors.

This doesn't make them completely "healthy" (these are still over 1/3 sugar by weight), but for an occasional snack they are awesome.

This is the closest to 100% organic of all companies and they work on bringing the price down for competition.

all Nature Path products are great!

I am currently 6 months pregnant and have been craving pop-tarts my entire pregnancy but I do not want to put all the junk that's in regular brand "pop-tarts" into my body. I looked all over for a healthier alternative that was UNFROSTED (I hate frosting) at my local stores but no one had them. After finding these on Amazon I ordered them directly from Natures Path because I wanted to make sure I liked them before committing to the 6 pack of boxes.

I just had my first one straight from the toaster and it was delicious!!! It tasted so much better than an actual pop-tart. To me pop-tarts always left a greasy taste in my mouth. While these are by no means a healthy snack food, they actually taste like real food. They do not taste like grease and chemicals but actual food and they contain MUCH better ingredients for mine and my baby's health than the typical pop tarts you find in store. I won't feel guilty about eating these from time to time and they totally satisfied my craving!

Bergin Nut Company Super Cereal Granola, 16-Ounce Bags (Pack of 3)

Bergin Nut Company Super Cereal Granola, 16-Ounce BagsThis granola is pretty good and satisfying, but nothing super special. This company makes a pumpkin flax seed granola that is to die for, so i was hoping this would be similar, but it isn't. If you can find the Pumpkin Flax Granola, get that instead!

I found this product at a hotel breakfast bar. I'm so glad I found it available on Amazon. IT's not sold in stores, as far as I can see.

Kay's Naturals - Better Balance Protein Cereal Honey Almond

Kay's Naturals Better Balance Protein Cereal Honey Almond -- 9.5 ozThis cereal was not as good as I expected based on some of the positive comments. To me, the honey almond flavor could be a little more enhanced. The cereal does, however, hold up in milk. Don't think I will buy this product again.
