All-Bran Bran Buds, 17.7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)

All-Bran Bran Buds, 17.7-Ounce BoxesI have a bran muffin recipe that I make every Sunday evening and then it lives in my fridge for the week. Each morning I put a scoop of batter into a couple of muffin cups, put them in my convection oven and by the time I'm out of the shower and dressed, the fresh baked muffins are ready to put in my tote bag and I head out the door to work . . . I get to enjoy fresh baked muffins every morning with a fresh cup of tea. Last night I was out of the usual All Bran, but found a box of the Bran Buds in the back of the cupboard. Wasn't sure how it would work, but I liked these muffins even better than made with the All Bran! I did need to use more milk, and I'm guessing I'll have more than enough batter for the entire week (I'll bring some to share with co workers ;-) This is a great way to get fiber in the morning and gives me a good start to the day.

Update on the above. I discovered that I can make these muffins, sccop them into my silicone muffin cups and then freeze the entire batch (usually 18 muffins). Taking them out one or two at a time to bake in my convection oven each morning. I start each day with fresh baked muffin(s).

When I was on my healthy kick a few years back, I mixed 1/4 cup with a serving of yogurt. I loved it but it is so hard to find in stores.

January, 2013 I purchased Bran Buds and the ingredients are as follows: Wheat bran, sugar (only 8 grams), psyllium seed husk, oat fiber, and contains 2% or less, salt, baking soda, caramel color, annatto color, and BHT for freshness. There is no mention of high fructose corn syrup, as some reviewers mentioned. Perhaps Kelloggs has reformulated their recipe. This is one of the best cereals for digestive health around. 1/3 cup is all that is needed per day and it is low in calorie (80 calories listed on the box). For me, this is much better than drinking Metamucil. I like that I can put some in a plastic bag and take it wherever I may be traveling. My local Publix grocer always has it.

Kellogg's All-Bran Bran Buds, 17.7-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) I had a colon resection about 2 years ago after struggling with Diverticulitis and all of the symptoms for years. After the surgery, I still found that I had to take Metamucil every morning and also eat the Bran Buds too. I sweeten the Buds with Sugar Free Coffee Mate Hazelnut creamer and it is really good. I just love it even though I have to eat it every day. Along with the Metamucil, they have solved my life long problem of constipation. I am so happy there is a product such as Bran Buds and I will never do without. They are GREAT! I order by the case from Amazon.

Kellogg's Complete Wheat Bran Flakes, 17.3 oz

Kellogg's Complete Wheat Bran Flakes, 17.3 ozI got this cereal as second choice to Complete Bran Flakes. I like the Bran flakes better, but I could not buy single boxes, so I took this cereal. I do like it's taste compared to any other brand on the grocery store shelves.

EnviroKidz Organic Gorilla Munch Cereal, 10-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

EnviroKidz Organic Gorilla Munch Cereal, 10-Ounce BoxesThis cereal was most satisfactory. I purchased some with the intent of keeping it on a table somewhere in my house to keep my jimmies stable. It far exceeded my expectations, and even went so far as to keep all of my family's jimmies in place.

I would recommend this.

This product is tried and true. Although delicious, the cereal's most astounding property is the calming effect it has on literally anyone who eats it. You will find yourself, after enjoying a bowl of Gorilla Munch, simply laughing at jabs that may have thrown you over the edge on another day.

And you know what they say, a box on the table keeps your jimmies stable.

Recommended for anyone.

I went to go pick this product up in the store the other day only to see a label change had taken place. My once intact jimmies are now rustled to the point of no return. I have no words to describe this rustling, but want to reach out to EnviroKidz and please ask them to return to the old label. The old label was the only thing that kept my jimmies from rustling and now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place...please EnviroKidz do the right thing for everyone that now has permanently rustled jimmies.

When I was a young johny, I was diagnosed with Irritable Jimmy Syndrome (IJS). This terrible disease causes 5 times as much Jimmy rustling as the next biggest rustler, AIDS. As you can imagine, my family was distraught and my future was dark. I went through a rough period over the following years, as various medication only exacerbated my rustled jimmies. While the rest of humanity may have found a kitten cute, I could only notice its claws digging into my skin or the torn upholstery from the animal. While children might have laughed at peek-a-boo tricks, I could only envy how lucky they were not to have rustled jimmies. The only friends I had were victims of cancer who thought they had a bad life, but in reality there jimmies could never know the rustling I experienced on a day-to-day basis. Nobody understood, not even my doctors.

One day, by some stroke of good fortune, I found a Jimmy Guru by the name of Go Rilluh, in the local phonebook. Willing to try anything (and I mean anything) to cure my rustled jimmies, I called him as soon as I was home from school that day. He answered with a rather husky voice, seemingly grunting his replies to me, and yet as soon as I heard his voice over the phone I could not help but feel like my luck was about to turn around. I told him that at this point (I was 16 at the time), my jimmies had become so rustled that doctors gave me 3 months at most before they became dangerously unstable. They said they had never seen jimmies rustled so badly, not even when Patriots fans walked in the day after losing the Superbowl to the New York Giants. Mr. Rilluh soothingly responded that his only secret to unrustled jimmies was Gorilla munch, manufactured within the realm of Heaven itself in order to provide unrustling the likes of which this Earth could not possibly produce. I immediately went down to the grocery store to buy a box, and as soon as I looked at the Gorilla on the front of the box a wave of calm passed over me, for the first time since my childhood. I imagine that it was what my savior Mr. Rilluh would have looked like, but I was never able to find him after that fateful phone call. I followed a simple mantra from then on out, "A box on the table keeps the jimmies stable." Life began to improve; I began to enjoy things for the first time, I could do schoolwork without daydreaming of fighting my teachers, and I even found first love. Suddenly, my life took a turn for the worst.

Recently I went in to the grocery store to buy my anti-drug Gorilla Munch. I was shocked and appalled to learn that the friendly Gorilla, full of understanding and wisdom, had been replaced by some rookie. Some amateur. This new kid on the block looks like a joke. A big fat phony. He knows nothing of the world, barely looking old enough to feed himself. He doesn't understand how hard life really is. He doesn't understand what its like to stay up day and night, full of tears and not a dream in sight. He probably doesn't even understand what TRULY made Gorilla munch special, let alone how to unrustle my jimmies. My life has gone to shambles now that my friendly gorilla of old has left the cover of my box. My wife left me, I lost my job and my home. I don't even own a table for me to keep a box of gorilla munch on top of, even though it would no help keep my jimmies stable. My Irritable Jimmy Syndrome is worse than ever, and I will probably die in the hospital I type this message from within a month. All I can ask, is this:

Please EnviroKidz, please bring back our old friend the gorilla. You are quite literally watching me die by not putting him on the cover of this box.

Back To Nature Cranberry Pecan Granola, 12-Ounce Pouches (Pack of 6)

Back To Nature Cranberry Pecan Granola, 12-Ounce PouchesI have just been told by 'back to NATURE' that this has been discontinued.

We started noticing that it was disappearing from shelves all over our area about 2 months ago. We asked every place to check for availability, yet never heard anything other than it is backordered.

I used 'back to NATURE' website to do the 'contact us' thing twice and never received a response.

I came to Amazon while searching online and placed myself on the notify when this product becomes available list.

Today I decided to try and call back to NATURE. I spoke with the person that answered the phone, she said she could help, and after discussing my difficulty finding the product she offered to 'research' and get back to me. I must note she attempted to collect quite of bit of personal information. She assured me that I could simply go back to the local groceries and ask why they were not stocking it however I insisted that it was not available anywhere nor here on Amazon so the problem was not my grocer.

I wasn't quite accepting her quick 'research, get back to me, and get of the phone approach' so I asked to talk to someone else and she got me on the line with her supervisor Lizzy.

After reviewing the above and being offered a 'research and get back' solution I was a bit more insistant and it was then that she said '.. that product had been discontinued due to a lack of sales and once discontinued it is inlikely that it will become available again...'. At this point I was more than just a bit disapointed and shared with her that in my local market the 'Cranberry Pecan Granola' just happened to be the only one of their granola selections that was always selling out, week after week over the last several years and I found it curious that the one selection that did appear to sell was discontinued.

I guess it is only popular here!

My husband and I tried several brands of Granola as a topping for our morning yogurt. Back to Nature Cranberry Pecan was the best, by far. When

our local markets stopped stocking it, we went online to find sources. We

order six to ten bags each time. This is one product that needs no

improvement. It is the perfect balance of crunch, chewiness, and flavor. It

makes a small breakfast filling and satisfying enough for the entire morning.

I tried this brand of granola a few years ago and have never bought another... I just read that the Back to Nature granolas might be discontinued? I hope not, it seems to be popular where I can get it in the store. The only drawback for me is its price, but it tastes great, does NOT have soy (which I am allergic to), and they are a supporter of the Nature Concervancy. Absolutely a great product.

Gourmet Italian Biscotti - by Coffaro's Baking Company (Pack of 3)

Coffaro's Baking Company Hazelnut with Orange Zest Olive Oil Biscotti, 8-Ounce BoxesRarely does a biscotti ever have in reality all the goodies that the picture on the box promises.

Coffaro's Almond & Cherry Olive Oil Biscotti deliveries the detail.

Visit their website and discover that Coffaro is a family-run business, with only one product allowing them to do one thing, and to do it very very well: they make biscotti.

There's no stinginess the ingredients are top notch. The variety of almonds they use are fat, slightly rounded and a little bit small. Small is plentiful and small is good in this case; these aren't the big mild-flavored things that show up in your bridge mix. Instead, these almonds are so rich with the Amaretto flavor, that almond note of pure almond extraxt that you'd swear that you smell the almonds before you crunch them. They aren't broken bits of almonds either that's for lesser manufacturers. These are whole, fresh and delicious. the most striking thing is how many of them turn up in each package tremendously impressive in a world where other companies wave a single almond at the vat of cookie dough and call it good.

The cherries make for a tender chewy punctuation between all the crisp, wonderful biscotti and crunchy, flavorful almonds. The biscotti itself is slightly smoother than most, slightly denser than many of the crumbly bars offered up in premium coffee shops, yet the bite, the mouthfeel, all perfectly craggy, crunchy and satisfying.

The Coffaro's traditional recipe is easy on the sugar, which is another factor that lets the texture and the almonds' flavor shine through as the top stars. Do not fear the olive oil; this is clearly the second or third pressing elixir, containing all the healthy lipids, but none of the chlorophylls nor savory flavors of the extra-virgin type.

Can't wait for the next Subscribe-n-Save shipment of these terrific bites of Italian tradition already gave a box away to friends and they want more too.

If I could submit a photo, you could see what I mean. The package shows a biscotti chock full of pistachios, when in actuality I am lucky to find one in each cookie. Not sure if all of their assortments are the same, but I was disappointed in this one. Good taste, goes great with a cup of hot tea. Needs more of what is pictured on the box.

The Coffaro's Almond Biscotti is very good but over priced. I can get a similar biscotti product that is just as good for less at Cost Plus World Market. I want to stress that the Coffaro biscotti was very tasty and we did enjoy it. It all depends on how much you want to pay!

I love biscotti and I always keep an eye out for new bicotti to try. I found this on Amazon while doing a search and have to admit that the packaging really caught my eye, and the ingredients (hazelnut, orange zest, and olive oil) intrigued me. My three boxes arrived yesterday and I couldn't make a cup of coffee fast enough to try these with.

They did not disappoint! In fact, they are divine. They have a delicate hazelnut flavor with a dash of exciting orange zest that aren't lost when dunked in coffee. They're also not too sweet, they're just right. They are the small-sized biscotti (a bit bigger than a man's thumb) and have a nice texture that is different from your typical super-hard crunchy biscotti (they have a smoothness that I'm guessing is the olive oil).

These are an indulgent treat that I'd feel proud to serve to friends with coffee or tea. I'm looking forward to trying their other flavors.

We ordered several different types after trying the Lemon Zest and Blueberry biscotti. While they have a softer texture than Nonni's brand biscotti, we found them to be delicious, either alone or dipped in coffee. We were delightfully surprised that the Olive oil did not override the hazelnut and orange flavors.

Mother's Quick Cooking Barley - Hot, 11-Ounce (Pack of 12)

Mother's Quick Cooking Barley - Hot, 11-OunceI used to buy Mother's Quick Cooking Barley locally at Whole Foods and it became one of my food staples, but my Whole Foods stopped carrying it. My Amazon order arrived promptly and was undamaged. Barley has a wonderful taste and helps reduce cholesterol because it has soluble fiber. It can be used in soups, as a side dish, or in many rice recipes. Cooking time is short because this barley product is rolled flat, like oats for oatmeal, so it's done in just 10-12 minutes.

My son has wheat allergies and this is a great substitute. He uses it as a substitute for pasta in pasta salad, for breakfast, and to just nibble on. Compared with the long-cooking barley, this product cooks up in about 10 mins., and you don't get the gummy residue which can occur with the long-cooking variety. Once cooked up it keeps for several days in the fridge, and the chewy texture is not compromised. It re-warms nicely. (The price is much better than at the supermarket, too!) My only gripe: I wish it would be included on Amazon's automatic shipping program.

Note: This product will not work for people with gluten allergies.

Quinoa, Flakes, Organic, 12 oz.This cereal is great, especially if you make it with pomegranate juice for 1/2 the water content. Very healthy, better protein than other hot cereals. Tastes much better than oatmeal and rice cereal, imho
