Emerald Breakfast On The Go, S'mores Nut Blend, 5 Pouches Per Box (Pack of 4)

Emerald Breakfast On The Go, S'mores Nut Blend, 5 Pouches Per BoxI love Smores, the combination of chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers are outstanding. I also love Emerald nuts, so when I saw this at my local grocer, I had to try them. Right away, the biggest problem with this snack is the marshmallows, if you can even call them that. The marshmallows look like erasers from a pencil, and they are as hard as a rock. I am not exagerrating, I nearly broke a tooth the first time I tried to bite one. Are they stale? Expiration date says September of 2012. I am not sure, maybe I got a bad package of these. I am hesitant to buy another box. The rest of the snack mix is fine, the cocoa walnuts, honey roasted peanuts, m&ms, graham chunks and oat clusters all tasted as they should. But the most important part of the "smores", the marshmallows, was a major letdown.

I love these breakfast nuts, I eat a bag every morning as I don't spend a lot of time in the mornings before I leave for work.

My girlfriend loves the other flavors w/ apple slices, but this is my favorite flavor. Just wouldn't suggest paying the price Amazon is asking for them, when you can get them a lot cheaper at Food Lion.

I love the Berry Nut Blend and the Breakfast Nut Blend variety of Emerald Breakfast on the go!, but found the S'Mores Nut Blend to be gross. The marshmallows had a very mushy texture, similar to a soggy version of marshmallows found in some cereal. I found the chocolate to be overwhelming with having chocolate candy pieces (similar to M&Ms) and cocoa roasted almonds. I did like the coconut flakes and graham cracker squares. I will not buy this blend again.

Crunchy, Nutty, Sweet, Salty and a nice hint of the "Smores" Goodness all in this bag.

Delicious! As one user said, The Marshmallows are "HARD" but hey its a trail mix! I enjoy them and the Graham cracker pieces which are very crunchy too!

KIND Minis Variety Pack

KIND Minis Variety Pack, 12-CountAt the time of this review, the product description states "Fruit & Nut Delight, Almond & Apricot, Almond Cashew + Omega-3, Cranberry Almond + Antioxidants". These are not the flavors you will receive. I love KIND bars, and I get 2 boxes shipped to my house automatically each month. This month the flavors inside the box have changed, but the product description has not been updated. This is what now comes in the 'minis variety 12-pack':

Almond & Coconut (instead of Almond & Apricot)

Cranberry Almond + Antioxidants

Fruit & Nut Delight

Nut Delight (instead of Almond Cashew + Omega-3)

I've never eaten a KIND bar I didn't like, but if you are ordering based on favorite flavors, please be advised you are not going to receive the varieties currently listed.

This product is very good. The quality is excellent. Wonderful midday snack for the mini's and they are great for curbing hunger till dinner. The larger bars are good to replace lunch. Cranberry mixture is my favorite.

I love these bars but it makes more sense to just buy the regular size rather than this small size. It is much more cost effective.

I enjoy Kind bars and this sample pack is great for two reasons: 1. variety 2. they're about half the size of a normal bar so it's a perfect sized snack

I enjoyed the flavor and contents of each mini bar. Great for cocktail hour at home. And if the bars are kept in a cool place you can actually remove them from the wrapper. Cool doesn't mean house temperature unless yours is 62 degrees. Otherwise, if somewhat warmer the bars become extremely sticky and are hard to remove from the celephane wrappers. Expect sticky licking-good fingers as well. Were it not for that I'd give it a 4+-star.

Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies, Fruit & Nut, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped Cookies (Pack of 12)

Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies, Fruit & Nut, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped CookiesI bought these on a whim, and they're pretty good. There's no mistaking them for a dessert cookie, but they are moist and taste good. They taste a lot like a really good bran muffin, but with a more dense texture. My kids won't eat them, but that leaves more for me.

I ordered Erin Baker's fruit & nut cookies at a discounted price because Amazon said the item was near its sell-by date. I was nervous about doing so -afraid I might have to scarf down a dozen cookies all at once because they were about to expire. But the cookies arrived at the beginning of September, and the expiration date isn't until Nov. 11. Plenty of time, especially since these cookies taste so good, they won't last long!

I haven't tried any other Erin Baker cookies, but I definitely recommend the Fruit & Nut flavor. They have a spicy aroma and a chewy, moist texture, with just the right amount of tender fruit. The density reminds me somewhat of an Odwalla bar, but without the overpowering soy taste of an Odwalla.

These cookies can serve as a meal replacement. They are filling, and with more nutrition than you might think (6 grams of protein). The only reason I didn't give these cookies five stars is that they're a bit higher in calories (290) than a typical granola bar or protein bar. But taste-wise, they're just about perfect.

I am so addicted to these cookies! Love them! They are great for a meal substitute or snack . Not too sweet-just right. They are good for you too. What else could you want? No more dessert store bought cookies for us. One cookie and a glass of milk is pretty filling for me as the cookies are sizable. My son likes two at a time though. (Sometimes I do too!) We have disabilities in our home so 'easy' is a word we love. At first we tried the Morning Glory Cookies and loved those so ordered 4 more different kinds, caramel apple, banana nut, peanut butter with chocolate, fruit and nut . We all loved them all. The Caramel Apple went first though. My son's favorites are caramel apple, peanut butter with chocolate and banana nut. Frozen we heat in microwave 25 seconds. You really must freeze these because they are all natural. Someone said it reminded them of fruitcake but I didn't think that. I really like this one. I like the texture of the nuts in it. I want one right now but unfortunately we are out Darn it! It is not one of my son's favorites but mine and my Mom's. Do not hesitate to try these in any flavor. They are a bargain. We are getting the automatic monthly shipping next month which is even more of a bargain and will order probably 10 packages at least, for 3 people. I told you we love them!

IMPORTANT FOLLOW-UPI felt this was important to add. I had not finished my test yet so did not mention it before. I have a rare bile duct disease from a "botched' surgery. I have to be very careful what I eat or I get terrible pains and cramping and am prone to getting pancreatitis. The list of what I can eat is very short. I loved these so decided to eat mostly just the cookies for a week, if I could, without having any pains and still feel like I always do , which is really pretty awful. I felt they are nutritious and I would drink LOTS of liquids with them as the fiber can be very constipating, and of course, take vitamins. Not only did I feel better and had more energy than before but I had NO stomach pains at all. I can't remember the last time when I have gone a week without pains. I expected some but there were none. I will say, I did not miss other foods either and actually craved these cookies. I love sweets but have to be careful and these are enough sweet to satisfy me. My son brought a cake home and I found it to be almost sickeningly sweet and no nutritional value. With the cookies It just feels like I am eating well and enjoying it immensely at the same time. (Oh, I was 'regular" as well). These will continue to be a large part of my diet. It is so wonderful to feel better, have more energy and not have the horrible pains. Now if I can afford to buy as many as I need and for my Mom and son! I really need at least 5 cookies most days (3 meals a day plus 2 snacks) if I eat nothing else . Actually the price is very affordable for most at about 1.00 a cookie and less if you get automatic ordering which I am going to do at the first of every month. I can't believe I just now heard of these on Amazon! I am thankful to Erin for developing these cookies which are literally changing my life. God bless you Erin, and your business.

I bought Erin Baker's breakfast cookies for my teenage daughters who are in swim team and leave for practice early in the morning. This made for a very convenient breakfast for them after their practice and morning workouts! Paired with milk or a piece of fruit, this was definitely a filling and satisfying breakfast for them.

We enjoy the moistness, density and great flavor of fruit and nut. We have tried other flavors, but this one rates top of the list. We also feel it's a healthy option for "on the run" mornings.

McCann Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal 28oz

McCann Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal 28oz
  • 100% Natural Whole Grain Groats
  • High in B-Vitamins, Calcium, Protein & Fiber
  • Imported from Ireland
  • 28 oz Can

While marketing for healthy breakfast fare,I tripped across this tin of' Mc Cann's, Steel Cut, Oatmeal several years ago and decided to give it a try. I did and now I am all but addicted to it! I followed the directions to have perfect oatmeal. It was perfect but the drawback was the 25 to 30 minutes to cook it, and to do this daily! I like mine 'al dente' so I fast cook it on high temperature until most of the water has boiled out about 10 minutes, then cover it to simmer it the remainder of the cooking time. However with this method, one has to stir the oatmeal very often while it is simmering. Then along came a friend who suggested that I make a full batch, 1 cup of this oatmeal to 4 cups of water, and put the remainder of what wasn't eaten in a covered bowl in the frig. This I did, and still do. Now I scoop out the amount I want to reheat, place it in a bowl stirring in a little water to loosen it up, microwave it for 2 minutes or less depending on the amount I am reheating, and I have almost an instant breakfast! Since it so crunchy and so delicious all by itself ( it doesn't even taste like oatmeal!) that it really does not need any extras!Try it and enjoy!!!

Oatmeal gets a bad rap these days.

Most people have their first experience with the quaker instant oatmeal, loaded with sugar and artificial flavoring, with the consistency of mush. After eating it, you just feel dirty for the next few hours, like you ate candy for breakfast. The rest of their lives, people never go back. John McCanns's oatmeal will convert anyone back.

The flavor and consistency is everything you could ask for in a warm breakfast cereal. Once you try it, you can never go back to regular oatmeal. It's chewy and delicious, not like the quaker slime you might remember. Sure, it takes 30 minutes to cook, but after you've done it once, it's easy. I wake up, throw some water on the stove, make my coffee, drink my coffee while I wait for it to boil, throw in the oats, set the dial to 3, give it a stir, and take a shower. When I come out, breakfast is almost ready. I could understand if you don't have the extra time, but this stuff is worth it.

The only thing is that this oatmeal is about 5-6 times more expensive than Steel-Cut oatmeal you can buy in bulk at the grocery store. That isn't to say that you can't taste the difference in quality, but at some point, they're both steel-cut oatmeal.

So if you want the very best, go with John McCann's. I highly recommend buying a tin if it's your first time trying steel-cut, since it takes a few times to figure out how to cook it and the tin provides instruction. It also looks very cool and gives you a place to put the oats you might buy in bulk later.

This is BY FAR my favorite oatmeal. The price here, however is almost 4x as much as it costs at my local grocery store (it's $6.99 at the Food Emporium right outside Times Square in NYC). I hope this is an error.

This oatmeal is in my point of view the best; it taste great and I like to make it in the slow cooker so it is ready when I get up.

Very good. Time consuming to cook--don't plan to cook it for breakfast without a spare 45 minutes!

Gooey liquide that forms while cooking is a little weird.

FLAHAVAN'S Irish Porridge Oats, 17.5-Ounce Bags (Pack of 6)

FLAHAVAN'S Irish Porridge Oats, 17.5-Ounce BagsAs a life-long American, these were actually something I just randomly tried from a local specialty store. Now I am addicted. I like them better than traditional oatmeal, the taste is more creamy and hearty. The funny thing is that the word "porridge" to me has a connotation of slop that is served as sustenance more than flavor. However, I can tell you that I love this stuff and I feel like it is actually the gourmet version of oatmeal. If you prepare it with water it is quite good, and prepared with milk it is simply amazing.

My Welsh husband recently moved to the US and did not like our oatmeal, or the steel cut version, or any 'porridge' I could find for him. "It just isn't like what I'm used to", he'd say. Then I found Flahavan's in a British shop and they were declared a success. Not wanting to drive an hour each way and pay six dollars a bag for them, I am happy to find them on Amazon for around three dollars a bag and free shipping with Prime. These are very tasty, although I'm more of a fan of the steel cut oats.

My household was out oats, so I made a search on Amazon, and decided to try a brand we've not yet tasted. Since I gravitate toward food items from the UK/Ireland (ancestral roots); and because it had such great reviews, I decided to order this.

I prepared it with 1 cup whole milk, and 1 1/2 cups water, and within a few minutes it was done! (I served mine up with a dash of cinnamon, and a sprinkling of coconut sugarafter tasting it alone).

...This is hands down the best tasting oats my family and I have ever tasted! It's not chewy or tough, and it doesn't require pre-soaking to get a smooth texture.

I don't recall having seen this brand in my local store, so when we run out, I'll be re-ordering!

I have been eating ONLY Flahavan's brand for about 4 years. I noticed by accident as well, in Wegman's, and now nothing else will do! I just went online to order directly from the Flahavan's site in Ireland since Wegman's just discontinued selling it......not enought of us true Irish porridge eaters I guess. I was excited to see Amazon sells it. It is the best/quickest method when done in the microwave. I do the 1/2 cup porridge to 1 cup 1% milk, nuking for 2:15 minutes [make sure you use a deep bowl, as directed] and it's sensational.....creamy, hearty, great flavor. I add walnuts, Splenda, and sometimes raisins or sugar-free Log Cabin if I'm in the mood. Even if you're not an oatmeal afficionado, try this.......good for you, and soooooooo yummy too.

After my lifelong mission to find porridge that could please persnickety Goldilocks, I am relieved to say Flahavan's fills the bill.

As a kid I never liked oatmeal, but porridge was so storied I kept trying, since oatmeal was supposedly it. When I was 14, I visited England, finally tried the real thing, and it was love. Unfortunately, back in the States I could never find anything comparable. So I just kept looking. One restaurant had a tasty and properly textured version, which they claimed was a proprietary porridge blend, but they didn't sell the oats, just the meal at breakfast. I've had the discussion many times: you'd expect all oats are oats, and therefore taste similar if prepared in similar fashion, but they simply don't. I tried every kind of oats I could get my hands on, from German and Scottish imports to bulk hippie/health food co-op organic. Steel-cut, rolled, slow, quick, everything! I soaked overnight and boiled stovetop; used milk, water, cream, and mixtures of them in varying amounts. In spite of wasting a lot of time and oats over the years, I didn't give up.

Like another reviewer here, I found Flahavan's at a Wegmans. A brand I hadn't seen before! Surely it would be a failure like the rest, but it's a pretty small package, why not just try? Thank goodness I bought it. I can't speak with authority for those in the UK, because as demonstrated by my not having seen Flahavan's in 20 years of US oat shopping, you must have many brands I won't encounter here. In the US, Flahavan's is the only brand I've been able to find to make porridge oats that taste like the delicious porridge I had in England. And that's just their simple, microwave in 3 minutes oats! Crazy to imagine after all the trouble I've gone to trying to stew up the perfect porridge. Wegmans is foolish for discontinuing Flahavan's, but I'm thankful they had it for me to find when I did.

For anyone out there looking for creamy (oat-creamy, even made with just water), tasty, tender, truly porridge-y oats, do yourself a favor and try Flahavan's. Even if you think you've got something decent---I used to eat McCann's sometimes, but even though other people in my family still buy it, to me it now tastes so bad in comparison I simply can't settle for it. I'm still open to trying new oats, but for me the lifelong fantasy porridge oats quest has found a firm footing in reality with Flahavan's fairytale deliciousness.

Love Grown Foods Oat Clusters and Love, Apple Walnut Delight, 12-Ounce (Pack of 3)

Love Grown Foods Oat Clusters and Love, Apple Walnut Delight, 12-OunceWhen I bought this product it was sold by Amazon and now it isn't so keep that in mind when reading my review.

This granola is drier than some other brands I have tried but it is like that whether you buy it from here or in the store. I have tried many flavors of this brand of granola and they're all really good. I really like this one in particular it has apple pieces, walnuts and a hint of cinnamon. I typically eat it plain as an afternoon snack. The best part about this granola is that it is gluten free (most brands of granola aren't)!

I love this granola! I picked it up on a whim at a Marshall's in their specialty food section and now buy it online because I can't find it anywhere else! To me, this is what granola should be big, crunchy clusters, lots of fruit, not too sweet, just a hadful of nuts. The ingredients list can't be beat, either only whole, natural foods, ingredients you can pronounce, no GMOs, no HFCS, no refined sugars. Just tasty ingredients. The recloseable bag makes it so easy to just keep stashed in my bag to snack on throughout the day.

Greek Sausage (Loukaniko) 12 oz pkg

Greek Sausage 12 oz pkgI ordered this sausage because I had it at a christening party. This did not taste like the one at the party that we went crazy over; it was far better! It has a slight taste of orange that really makes this so unique. Don't think this is in a class with the sausage you're used to eating! This is in a class of it's own! Order two packages, I guarantee you'll be sorry if you don't! Fast delivery, we are very pleased with the whole transaction!

First I want to comment on their extremely fast delivery. I placed my order and the next day I received it. The meats I buy are all delicious. When my son was in town I made a very simple dish with sliced Greek sauage, green peppers and onions. My son was not planning on eating at home that day for he had plans to go out but once the aroma of the cooking sausage filled the air, he not only had one serving but he came back for seconds. I highly reccomend this vendor. They also have a great selection from other countries.

I ordered these sausages as an experiment, to accompany the Mizithra cheese I was buying. They were very good, just different from what I am used to. And I am a sausage fanatic (Knockwurst, Knapwurst, Mettwurst, Andouille, Bratwurst, Chorizo,etc.). If I were doing another Greek meal, I would order them again.
