My expectations were probably set too high before I tried these. I read so many glowing reviews about these chips and how they taste like nacho chips. I've been looking for a healthier alternative to doritos for a while. If you try them as another tortilla chip, you'll probably like them. They have a good crunch, are a little lighter than regular tortilla chips, and have a good taste. Just don't expect them to have that "nacho" taste. This is probably the tastiest presentation of "black beans and rice" you've ever had. The chips are higher in protein and fiber than traditional nacho chips, and are vegan. The manufacturer has come up with a good seasoning combination using natural products, including yeast, so that they resemble "traditional" nacho chips, although I can't say how closely since it's been years since I had any.
The company does also make these chips in 1.5 ounce bags (one quarter the size of these) which I'd prefer, except for parties, despite the additional packaging, because the open bag can be quite tempting.
