Why does Lipton tea taste so bad recently? I have been drinking it for years and now it's disgusting. I will be throwing out this box. I noticed others have made the same comments recently.

I am a big drinker of tea but even for a quick brew, Lipton is made from substandard parts of the Tea plant also including the leaves. As a red rose tea the richness of color and flavor can be compared by buying other loose Tea brands and brewing the exact weight vs. Lipton. Cut the bag open and compare it with a bag of Tetley or Brooke Bond or Taj Mahal for that matter to confirm. No offense to Lipton lovers; I prefer Quality over Quantity. Enjoy your Tea otherwise :)

I found the quality of tea inconsistent. I think it is a Lipton issue rather than anything to do with Amazon.

I have had one experience like this with store-bought Lipton tea bags before. I wish I had remembered that before I ordered this.

I would recommend going in for some other tea like Tazo Awake or some other English Breakfast tea.

Over the years I have started drinking more tea and have found that there is a HUGE difference in taste from manufacturer to manufacturer. I have found that Lipton has almost no flavor (it used to, some years ago). I currently have about 20 different teas on hand, most from English or Asian manufacturers, which have a noticeable flavor. If you love tea, try one of the imports. You'll be surprised how bland Lipton really tastes.

We use STO for hot porridge or cold homemade smoothies an average of five mornings a week, year round.

Took me about 8 months to get through the first. It's great stuff, and the price represents a substantial savings over buying the small tins at Whole Foods, etc. Of course, now a certain coffee shop chain is starting to serve steel cut oats, so who knows how long before it all goes up in price... Let's hope not.

I pictured a tiny 50 lb bag... very good investment. I just boil a whole cup of it every morning. makes a filling oatmeal breakfast... it takes long time to cook though, so it's good to hydrate during cooking and eat fruit and other protein & vitamin stuff. Great for a student like I ^_^ oh and while cooking and eating listen to audiobooks and gain more knowledge, it's a great investment ^_^

I repackaged it to keep it fresh until we use it all. Hoping it works. If it does, then I'll purchase again because of the cost savings. Quality is as good as any other steel cut oats I've purchased.

Steel cut oats are expensive at the grocery store and we prefer them for their nutritional quality, i.e. they digest slower. They don't go bad so buying 50 pounds is not a problem. We just put them in two large covered buckets. They are good quality oats no different from the ones in the store. Since they are steel cut, they cook best if you soak them in the refrigerator overnight.

Beanfields Nacho Bean and Rice Chips, 6-Ounce

My expectations were probably set too high before I tried these. I read so many glowing reviews about these chips and how they taste like nacho chips. I've been looking for a healthier alternative to doritos for a while. If you try them as another tortilla chip, you'll probably like them. They have a good crunch, are a little lighter than regular tortilla chips, and have a good taste. Just don't expect them to have that "nacho" taste.

This is probably the tastiest presentation of "black beans and rice" you've ever had. The chips are higher in protein and fiber than traditional nacho chips, and are vegan. The manufacturer has come up with a good seasoning combination using natural products, including yeast, so that they resemble "traditional" nacho chips, although I can't say how closely since it's been years since I had any.

The company does also make these chips in 1.5 ounce bags (one quarter the size of these) which I'd prefer, except for parties, despite the additional packaging, because the open bag can be quite tempting.

Bear Naked All Natural Granola, 12 Ounce Pouches (Pack of 6)

I love granola and cereal in general, but I have to say that this is the very best granola I have ever had. The people at Bear Naked have a philosophy that I love, and which is on the back of every bag: "we believe food should be hand-made from wholesome and natural ingredients you can actually pronounce." Although I do eat processed food, I appreciate the appeal of the more traditionally prepared foods, and this granola tops the list for nutrition and taste.

Like most granola, it is high in calories and fat, but take note that the fat comes largely from the nuts contained (it also contains expeller pressed canola oil), and it has no trans fat, and only 1.5g of saturated fat per serving. This cereal is softer than most granola, though not soft enough for me to consider it chewy. It does have large chunks of nuts and also contains cranberries and flax seed, for optimal nutritional and digestive health.

The six-pack sold on Amazon makes the price per package reasonable (the ingredients are quite expensive), so as a value proposition, I think this is not only a great product, but a great buy.

Delicious and nutritious: a great combination that I recommend highly.

This granola is really good, but the stuff from Amazon is not fresh. The whole bag is a solid brick of granola when you receive it. It is pretty stale. I've gotten it several times, and my experience has been consistent.

I hesitate to write a review about a food because, well, one man's meat is another man's poison ... I like the not-too-sweet and minimally processed taste of this brand; the Banana flavour is our favourite. The Fruit and Nut flavour lacks a little oomph and the fruit inside is too tangy for my taste buds (so maybe TOO minimally processed?). Also, remember that 'All Natural' is NOT organic, even if you find this in the health food section of your grocery store. Our local Target also carries this brand of granola and has the best price for it.

I was in the organic section of a grocery store the other night, looking for low-fat granola. (I'm on a low-fat diet to help combat elevated cholesterol and triglycerides. *wince*)

I bought myself a 12 oz. packages of the Banana Nut, as well as the Bear Naked Peak Protein Granola. The latter was so-so, but the Banana Nut? YUM!

It's delicious plain, in my opinion, but you could certainly eat it with milk/soy milk as cereal, or mix in with some yogurt.

This stuff is awesome. A great-tasting mix of all-natural granola, WHOLE almonds & walnuts, and banana chips that make breakfast the best meal of my day! I'm not a huge banana fan, but the flavor here is perfect: the bananas don't overpower the nuts and vice-versa. What I like the most is that every mouthful is a little different, depending on the mix of banana, granola, and nuts you happen to get. Great with milk or as a snack. Even though the bag looks small in comparison with the boxes of cereal on the grocer's shelf, you get nearly the same amount of stuff, and the quality is 1000% better than any other granola on the market (just compare the list of ingredients and you'll see what I'm talking about.) Eat Natural Almond & Apricot Bar with Yogurt Coating, 12-Count Boxes

I've been carrying Larabars with me as a gluten-free snack, and bought "Eat Natural" almond & apricot bars to give them a try after seeing the glowing reviews. They are indeed delicious though I find the coconut and yogurt flavors come through much more strongly than the apricot. They're somewhat more filling than Larabars 235 calories vs. 180 calories, in both cases half fat. There's big difference in saturated fat 9 grams for "Eat Natural", 1 for Larabars, and "Eat Natural" bars have almost 20 times the sodium (95 mg, as compared to 5 mg), and half the fiber (2 grams as compared to the Larabar's four). "Eat Natural" ingredients don't get any more unnatural-sounding than soya lecithin, glucose syrup, and dextrose but the list is certainly a whole lot longer than my Larabar's "dates, almonds, unsweetened apples, walnuts, raisins, cinnamon" (yes, that's all).

These "Eat Natural" bars do taste good and are a little better at killing hunger pangs than Larabars. I might buy them again sometime if I find I need a snack that's a little better at killing hunger but think I'll stick to Larabars in the meantime.

I am very happy with this bar. It happens to be made entirely of things I'm not allergic to, which is the main reason I bought it in the first place. Once my box arrived and I actually tried one, though, I went back and ordered two more boxes. My husband and I both love these (and he doesn't have dietary restrictions like I do). They're dessert-sweet, but not sickly-sweet. The nuts provide hunger-busting staying power. They hold up well in my purse. I like the other flavors, too, but this one's my favorite so far.

I have never really liked the taste or texture of oatmeal so for years avoided it. My daughter and I love this organic and healthy oatmeal. I do agree with other reviewers that the flax seeds should be ground rather than whole, but we just add some to our bowl... It tastes terrific with a bit of honey or sugar, and some fruit. No aftertaste. Consistent flavor.

Authentic Hollandaise Sauce - Delouis Fils - pack of 4

I've made my own Hollandaise for many years based on several recipes I was able to garner from some of the 5 star restaurant's chefs, and they were all palate pleasers. I decided to try a bottled one in order to save the time it takes to make it at home. After reading the 1st and only review for this product (which was a 5 star...I think the customer might have been trying to get someone else sucked into buying it!), I decided to try it. I purchased 4 jars. BIG mistake! This is the WORST TASTING Hollandaise I could ever imagine! Tried it at room temp, then tried heating it to see if the bitter taste would go away but to no avail. This stuff is horrible! The only nice thing about the product is the shape of the jar. I'm going to make a huge batch of my own home made Hollandaise and store it in the jars. Thought about giving the three unopened jars away, but I don't have any enemies I hate THAT much! I poured their contents down the toilet (hope it doesn't ruin my sewage system!) and thoroughly washed the bottles for my own use.

If you're looking to have a great Hollandaise sauce at home, I highly recommend you MAKE it at home!

This is a really fine hollandaise that keeps indefinitely in the fridge after being opened, or on the shelf before opening. It's just the ticket for a quick Eggs Benedict. The maker's Bearnaise is not always available, but to turn this into a creamy Bearnaise, all you have to do is microwave some tarragon in a tablespoon of butter, then stir in the Hollandaise.

I have been buying this product at Whole Foods for years, but I was thrilled to find it on Amazon, which saves me a longish drive. This is a dream product that lets the home cook prepare some really special dishes, and I recommend it highly.

I usually reach for the not so healthy snack at night, but this is sweet and healthy if eaten in moderation. You may find yourself wanting to eat more than a serving. Paleo People Cacao Nut Granola 5 Oz Bag

The product itself was good but for the price you pay, the bag was too small. Another brand (Paleonola) makes similar product, at around the same price but you get more. I was complaining that the other brand was too expensive. This is even worse. I know you have to pay a little more for quality, but there has to be a way to get the cost down. I won't buy this again only because it's simply too expensive.

This paleo granola was not as good as I was hoping. I won't be ordering it again. Packaging was good.

Makes nice pudding. When mixed with milk the color is purplish. Delicious, nutty taste. They pop in your mouth while chewing.

Try this: mix and cook 1 cup white rice and 1/4 cup Black Forbidden Rice. Add handful of pine nuts and dried black currants, 2 teaspoons or more ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons sugar, dried mint and parsley, after rice is cooked. Stuff green peppers, white cabbage leaves or grape leaves in 1/2 cup olive oil, and water just enough to cover them. Cook on very low heat, covered about 30 minutes after it starts steaming, or until all the liquid is absorbed and a little oil left at the bottom. Serve and enjoy cold or at room temperature with a lemon slice.

Cabbage: You have to cut and pull out the thick stem before cooking the whole thing in a big pot of water. Stem part must be down,cook about 10 minutes. After it cools, peel the leaves carefully without breaking them and start stuffing, rolling like Chinese rolls. Grape leaves are available here at Amazon and in markets. Do one vegetable at a time and see which one you like. Have fun

Ask a Chinese friend about "forbidden rice" (禁米), unless they are history buff like myself, they will give you a puzzled look. The term refers to an obscure trade policy during Manchurian dynasty, not an exotic rice. I will not going to bore you with history here.

The story about emperor depriving commoners of red rice is a hoax made in America, like the legion of fortune cookies. Most fortune cookies are made in a wholesome factory near Atlanta. We trust that fortune cookies are safe to eat. "Forbidden rice?"

There is a red rice in China, dark red, close to red bean. The color varies from gran to gran. Its thick bran provides a pleasant nutty flavor and al dente texture. The color does not come off easily. You can get them from Chinese grocery store.

What is sold as "forbidden rice" at Amazon and Costco has a uniformed black to deep purple color. It appears to be rice over-milled, dyed, and polished. Drop a few grains in water, you can see color coming off. And the color tent to sink to the bottom. That is a easy tell tail. When cooked, the favor and texture of bran are absent. If they use red rice, they have milled away its bran to make the rice easy to dye.

There is nothing wrong with using food coloring. But is the ink FDA approved? We do not know. The label does not say.

I am returning mine to Costco. I will ask Costco to pull it off the shelf.
