I'm not sure why no one seems to like these very much! They are pretty good to us. I haven't had a problem with them falling apart and they're easy to slice for toasting. My son,(who is the one on the GFCF diet), is extremely picky and suspicious of anything new, ate these muffins without hesitating. I sometimes poke a hole in the middle and serve as a 'bagel'. These are a regular staple in our house.
If you use a really sharp serrated knife and work carefully, you can split them successfully.

I bought these several times for my mother. The first time she loved them and I ordered more when she ran out. The second time about half the batch tasted fresh, but the other half was dried out. I hadn't ordered them for a couple of months, then she decided to try one more batch. This batch was the same or worse than the last, mostly dried out. I bought one box to try from the store and they were fine, so it must have something to do with the age of the product.

Like another reviewer, I've sampled a number of the other Familia mueslis, and other granolas and mueslis at stores.This is the superior muesli. (I'm eating some now to make sure I get this right...) I wouldn't think of myself as a muesli commentator, but this stuff is surprisingly good so I had to chime in.
It has a good selection of dried fruit and nuts, plus a bit of dried rice and corn flakes for texture. I wasn't particularly looking for low-fat but that's a bonus.
Very tasty to eat! I eat it with breakfast, and often as dessert after dinner.

This cereal tastes great, isn't high in calories, is low sugar, and has plenty of fiber. It has dried bananas and dates which add to the taste. I usually have one cup cereal, one cup light or nonfat milk, and sliced fruit. It makes a terrific breakfast or lunch. I've ordered the six-pack many times and still enjoy the flavor of this cereal. Our Erewhon certified gluten free cereals are made in a peanut-free, tree-nut free and dairy-free facility. They are run on a shared line with gluten and we abide by good manufacturing practices to help ensure against cross-contamination. This consists of the machinery being sanitized and thoroughly washed down before the cereal is made. Then after it is made, the cereal is tested to ensure it is less than 20 ppm of gluten. We sent the cereal to a separate facility last fall to double check the levels at which it tested and found it to be less than 5ppm of gluten. In November of 2010, our Erewhon gluten free cereals were certified gluten free by GIG. I hope this helps clarify our current practices as I realize there are reviews dating back many years on amazon.com and thought it would be helpful to update interested consumers of it on amazon.com.
This is only sort of gluten free. You might be able to eat it a few times with only a little bit of distress, but then it will get worse. If you are a celiac on a long-standing gluten free diet, you will slowly get sicker again.
And, your risk of getting colon cancer later in life will go up dramatically, which is apparently what happens to celiacs who eat little bits of gluten throughout their lives. Just because it's not really making you sick, doesn't mean it's not doing damage.
Avoid this, and don't feed it to celiac kids.
Edit: On the gluten-free listservs there are discussions of people getting sick from this. Erewhon has confirmed that they run oat cereals on some of the lines, so if you are a celiac who can't tolerate oats (which I am) this is bad stuff.
Also, they make this in a facility that processes wheat, so it may be legally gluten free (20 ppm or less), but not actually gluten-free. Mixed facilities can have 10 ppm wheat in the air alone.

We have food allergies, so I carefully pay attention to what we buy and bought this specifically because of the ingredients listed. When it came, we realized it has barley malt, and what the company sent us was not the same exact box as is listed on Amazon. The box we have does not say gluten free, unlike the box photo displayed. I am very disappointed.This is a great tasting cereal, but it is NOT gluten free. It took me months to figure how my family kept getting gluten because I trusted the "family" owned Erewhon brand. Guess what? They are no longer family owned. The corporation who makes Skinner Raisin Brand owns them and processes raisin bran in the same plant as the supposedly gluten free Crispy Brown Rice cereal. If avoiding gluten is important to your family's health, then avoid this cereal. This cereal has a healthy, nutty flavor very similar to that of puffed rice, but with more crisp. It is very low in calories, and it's true what the other reviewer mentioned about the low glycemic impact. It is not a sweet cereal by any means. I eat it with vanilla soymilk, and that makes it tasty enough for me. I personally I would not spring it on a child who is new to a gluten-free diet, because they'll likely turn their nose up at it if served as is. I agree with the other reviewer and would recommend the Envirokids line of cereals for GF kids (caution a couple of them are *not* GF!).

1. It contains quite a lot of "saturated fat" which can be found in meat and dairy products. (major)
I do not know why this all-grain product can contain saturated fat, so I sent an E-mail to them to ask why it contains that. I visited their web site (the design was awful, like a home page from 1990's, and found two support e-mails one from the German representative and another from the American representative. I sent the E-mail to both of them, but none of them replied.
2. Ingredients are not uniformly mixed. (trivial)
Most of the tasty stuff (hazelnuts, apples) on the top of the package. So, when you ate 60% of one package, almost everything that remains in it is wheat or barley.

I work out a lot and eat very clean, Vegan, I honestly can say I am very happy I found this cereal. It tastes about 100 times better than I thought it would and it is as healthy as it gets. I bought a pint of this yesturday in the self-serve grains aisle at my local Whole Foods store yesturday. I was initially curious because I like to keep informed on new culinary trends, and this was listed as a "raw organic superfood cereal" (one of several), and I was hooked after trying a small cluster.
Likes:
* High Nutrient Density: This cereal is jam packed with a wide assortment of organic sprouts, spirulina, hemp protein, spinach powder, coconut ... and they even use gourmet himalayan salt and organic palm sugar. They clearly didn't skimp on anything when they made this stuff.
* Taste: Flavor and texture wise, try to picture a blend of assorted sprouted & dry toasted cereal grains, hemp protein, GREENSuperFood powder, coconut, and raisins, which are then lightly sprayed with organic liquid palm sugar (to sweeten and bind it together), and then everything is coarsely ground into a dark green semi-chunky granola-like grit. You can either nibble it straight as a dry mix snackfood, or eat it like a classic swiss granola with your favorite milk or non-dairy substitute (ex: almond milk).
* Semi-Sweetness: I liked the fact that this product is sweetened with restraint there's just enough to balance and bind the cereal, and there's also just enough salt to round out and counterbalance the other flavors. Make makers of this product clearly put a lot of effort into getting this blend just right.
Minor nits:
* Bite: As with some raw foods products, this can seem a bit hard and tiring to chew after a while ... until you get used to it. Perhaps not a first choice as a snack mix for people with dental issues.
* Price: As of this writing, my local Whole Foods had this in their loose grains bin aisle for $11/lb ... a bit pricey at first glance, but still reasonable given the high end ingredients that go into it, and surprisingly competitive compared to other premium granola cereals. This is also a very dense cereal 1 cup (about 5 oz), with milk, is a good sized serving.
Highly recommended, if you can find it at a decent price.

I ordered this product because I was looking to add some lesser known nutrients to my diet and I was really surprised by how good it tastes! Even my toddler likes it, which is amazing. I realize that some of the ingredients are not regulated by the FDA which means the health claims aren't "officially" substantiated. But, I think we all know that alternative supplements can be very good. In any event, if the health benefits are even 50% of what is claimed, I'm totally happy with it and planning to buy some for my extended family.

I am only giving this 1 star to draw peoples attention to the fact that this picture isnt correct for this product. The picture is of the Peanut and Chocolate bar made with Whey protien and the product being sold is the peanut and chocolate chip bar made with rice protien. There are other ingredients that differentiate between the two products and are important for different food intolerances. I was surprised how many haters there are for the Lite version. Disclaimer: I've never tried the full fat version and I'm sure it's delicious, but if you're watching your fat intake, there has to be some compromise. I'm used to eating lite variations (though not fat free, yuck) of sour cream, mayo, salad dressing, etc. So this wasn't a big leap for me. First sandwich, I was not impressed. Second sandwich, meh. By the third sandwich I was hooked. When by bottle ran out I had a hard time going back to plain mayo. I've been eating it so much that I don't even want to try the fattier version b/c then I'll be eating even more, yikes!

We recently had this at a local diner, it was so good we asked who made it and we could not beleive it came out of a can!!We are biscuit and gravy snobsvery rarely do we find a restuarant that serves a delicious B&G (Biscuits and Gravy).

One of the best store brought gravy i have had. Rich, thick (actually improves if thinned with a little milk), and amount of saugage is excellent for store brought.Obviously a LARGE can, so unless you have a small army to feed it needs to be stored. It only lasts several days refeiderated but i have had great sucess frezing 1/2 & 1 cup portions. I use sandwitch bags to hold the portions, freeze them and than vacuume bag several servings.
