Maxwell House Cafe Coffee Pods

Maxwell House Cafe House Blend Coffee Pods, 18 CountI was really excited when I heard Maxwell House was finally selling coffee for Keurig brewers. Before my Keurig days I drank nothing but Maxwell House. Than I saw the asking price compared to other K-cups. I guess they are hoping folks will just "brand shop" and not pay attention to the price per cup.

Having had surprisingly good experiences with Maxwell House coffee in restaurants (i.e. it was so tasty I had to ask what it was), I figured I'd give these a whirl, especially after reading the few reviews there were.

My verdict: Underwhelming.

Flavor:

If you like robust, full-bodied coffee that actually tastes like coffee, and not coffee-ish water, this isn't for you. It's not awful, just not what I was hoping for.

Price:

I paid $19.99 for 18 cups, expecting something really good. It's not worth the money paid. I shan't buy more. I get better (and more) coffee at the Keurig site. 24 cup packages go for $14.02.

Product:

So far, three out of the last 12 cups we've drunk were defective the machine would not/could not puncture a hole in the bottom of the cup.

So...save your money.

I just bought a 12 cup box at the market this weekend for $6.99! This is price is insane!! How can they even hope to compete in the K-Cup market like this? House Blend was good, but Nantucket Blend is much better for HALF the price!
