Nutri-Grain Yogurt Bars, Strawberry Yogurt, 10.4-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

I have had better yogurt bars. The strawberry filling has a slightly bitter taste. I don't think I will order these again since there are other yogurt bars available that are more palatable.

These things are great for breakfast. Not dry like other bars. Highly recommended for those on the go who also like food with taste.

Bought these for my mom, who eats them (and the regular Nutri-Grain Bars) every morning. Needless to say, she loves them. But she just wishes Kellogg's hadn't discontinued the other yogurt bars.

McCANN'S Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal, 16-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

McCANN'S Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal, 16-Ounce BoxesThis is the real thing, folks -oatmeal as it should be. If you watch "Good Eats" on the Food Network, you've seen Alton Brown praise steel-cut oats and dis rolled oats (the "Quaker Oatmeal" stuff). I personally love rolled oats, but if you don't, don't let that stop you from buying the McCann's. The texture, the taste, the "oomph" are nothing like your ordinary breakfast oats. Where rolled Quaker oats are a bit slippery and thin, these steel-cut oats are much firmer with a lot more tooth and a much heartier, nuttier flavor.

Be aware that you have to invest a little time to cook this cereal -half an hour on the stovetop. Or try boiling the water the previous night, turning off the heat, and then putting the oats in to sit overnight. Then finish cooking them in the morning for 10 minutes or so. There are other shortcuts, too -try a Google search. Whichever way you try, you may be spoiled for other hot cereals forever.

My husband and I love this oatmeal! I prepare it the night before by boiling 2 cups of water. I take the pot off the burner and pour in 1/2 a cup of oatmeal. I let it sit covered overnight. At the same time I place some raisins in a small container with water to plump them up overnight. The next morning I cook the oatmeal for 10 minutes, I throw in the plumped raisins, an applesliced, cored and cut up, add cinnamon and some agave (natural sweetner) and the rest is history.

We aren't hungry til lunch. A great way to start the day.

Having been turned onto steel cut and Irish oatmeal by Alton Brown, I much prefer these to any other oatmeal out there.

I make Alton's overnight oatmeal recipe in my Zojirushi rice cooker Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5-1/2-Cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker and Warmer, Premium White. The results are outstanding all the time. It is delightful to wake up to this creamy breakfast waiting for me. True breakfast comfort food. I like these oats because there is still a bit of bite to the oatmeal after it is cooked.

OVERNIGHT OATMEAL

Equipment:

Rice cooker with timer or slow cooker

Ingredients:

1 part steel cut or Irish oats

4 parts water

cream

dried fruit

Method:

The night before add ingredients to rice cooker/slow cooker. For rice cooker set the program to porridge and set the timer for when you want it to be ready. For the slow cooker turn it on low heat.

Wake up to breakfast.

2 Servings:

1/2 cup oats, 4 cups water, 2-3 TBSP cream, dried fruit as desired

Keep the 1:4 ratio of oats to water and it should work out well.

Variations:

apples and cinnamon

dried coconut and coconut milk instead of some of the water

flax seeds for fiber and Omega 3 fatty acids

Look to pre-made packages for flavor inspirations and make your own, healthier oatmeal. You won't be disappointed.

McCann's Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal has the best flavor & texture of any oatmeal available. However, it takes a little experimenting with all the methods of cooking to find the cooking method that is right for your individual taste. I invested in a small (6 cup) microwave rice cooker and use the following recipe: Bring 1 cup of water to a rolling boil in an uncovered microwave rice cooker. Stir in 1/4 cup oatmeal, cover and lock rice cooker lid and allow to sit overnight. The next morning place rice cooker in microwave and cook for approximately 12 minutes at 40% power (Using reduced power keeps the rice cooker from overflowing). Remove from microwave and let sit for 7-10 minutes. Remove lid and add toppings of your choice (brown sugar, butter, milk, dried fruit, stir & enjoy. Makes 1 serving.

I really prefer McCann's steel cut oats to any rolled oats I've ever had, especially the "al dente" texture, slightly nutty flavor.

I often have difficulty finding McCann's at my local grocer, and really appreciate the ease of ordering it from Amazon. With Prime, the shipping is free and the shelf life of this product is well over a year.

Steel cut oats have nearly twice the fiber of rolled oats and seem to stick with me a bit longer. Since it does take 30 minutes to cook this up, I make a batch of 8 cups every other week or so, and store it in 1 cup Ziploc or Gladware containers. Under cook the oats about 5 minutes, then in the morning you just pop the container (without the lid!) in the microwave for 2-3 minutes on 50% power. You have a fast and very nutritious breakfast.

To vary things a bit, I mix in chopped pecans and maple syrup, or chopped dried fruit (apricots, blueberries, cherries, peaches whatever you have on hand) and honey, or just brown sugar. I always have about 1 Tsp of SmartBalance in with it also. My cardiologist is pleased that I eat oatmeal 3-5 times a week, as is my heart!

Quaker Instant Oatmeal Express Cinnamon Roll, 1.9-Ounce Cups (Pack of 12)

Quaker Instant Oatmeal Express Cinnamon Roll, 1.9-Ounce CupsI am a caregiver to my Mother and she is an oatmeal lover and has the quaker instant oatmeal in cinnamon roll or apples & cinnamon every single morning of her life. It is so convenient for me and also great that I don't have to dirty pots, pans or bowls every morning. Any convenience that can be added to a caregiver's life is worth it, however I would like to see this priced a little lower. I make this with milk and if I don't have milk in the fridge, I make it with water and a couple of heaping teaspoons of whole dry milk. I find that if you fill to the fill line that the oatmeal is too soupy so trial and error is best in the beginning.

I have 2 flavors on a monthly subscribe and save!

I have high colesterol and was told oatmeal is great to lower it. I have tried many oatmeals and hated all of them until this one came along. It is really good and I recommend it highly. I also have a very particular grandson who also loves it...Really good, try it.

I love to eat oatmeal when I am on vacation, Hotels always seems to make it perfect and creamy, not me! This package ensures I have enough around the house for anytime (not just for breakfast).

Vermont Pure Maple Syrup by Brown Family Farm (8 ounce)

Vermont Pure Maple Syrup by Brown Family FarmI ordered one bottle of this to place on the breakfast table, and it was mostly gone that same day. It is perfect, not too sweet, complimenting without overwhelming the flavor of whatever you're pouring it on. Now I have to order more bottles, so I wish it was less expensive.

Pacific Natural Foods Hazelnut Non-Dairy Beverage, Chocolate, 32-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12)

Pacific Natural Foods Hazelnut Non-Dairy Beverage, Chocolate, 32-Ounce ContainersFirst I tried Diamond's almond milk in vanilla and unsweetened and sweetened chocolate flavors. The vanila is fine if you like almonds, I'm not wild about them. The unsweetened chocolate was undrinkable for me, and the chocolate was OK.

Then I found the Pacific hazelnut, in plain and chocolate. I love hazelnuts. The plain in good, and the chocolate is terrific for a non-dairy milk.

Unfortunately the three grocery stores I go to regularly don't have the hazelnut in either plain or chocolate so I am baffled where I got it. Now I will buy it from Amazon. I like that Amazon has the 8 oz. size, which I didn't know about.

I have been drinking this since -theweek they released it and for the last couple years, every month or so I've gotten in the habit of going to a co-op store that reliably carries it and getting a dozen (or 15 sometimes, whatever is on the shelf!) and drinking a few boxes a week (thankfully it is $2.25 a box here, 10% off when I buy

a case!)

It is the absolute smoothest milk made from nuts--I am very picky and sensitive to tastes and textures (the "supertaster" test where they dye and scan your tongue? Yeah, I have 14xs the normal taste bud count and twice the depth, crazy but it makes me very aware of nuances for good and bad)... almond ones tend to have a grit; in some the salt and sugar (and cocoa in the chocolate ones) just don't ever quite join the nut blend... and no way am I drinking soy. This is PERFECT to carry with me when I am worried about temperature (so I keep a box of the 4 individuals around but actually usually take the whole 32oz one--I drink it in 3 sittings tops, usually the same day).

Pacific foods also have amazing customer service; funny, I moved to Seattle from the east coast and having consumed it over a full year there, it suddenly was not known (the chocolate variety) ANYWHERE just a few hours from their plant in stores that have more Pacific brand broths, milks, and such than all other brands combined. They were awesome about getting it here for me (also before Amazon carried it); not sure why it costs so much with Amazon compared to a SEATTLE grocer since um Amazon is in Seattle, too, but glad for the backup regardless, hoping I never need to pay this much!

Having had Pacific's oat, almond, hazelnut... And then Almond Breeze (the other good chocolate variety, sweetened that is, the unsweet isn't so palettable)... This is the best. The plain hazelnut milk is super smooth and great for making my own custom flavored drinks when I run out of my loved Alpenrose dairy goods (amazing milk)... This is definitely great for potential power outrages, winter storms... Great backup for perishable dairy goods! It is well worth $3/each, mind you, or grab the $28/case recurring and set it a few months away and see if you aren't hooked!! Seriously, bet you will be :) gonna go drink some right now (I should upload a shot of the cabinet shelf that is JUST 3 rows of this; 3-4 are always in the fridge cause it is so so good!)

I bought a 12 pack of this after trying the Pacific Natural regular hazelnut milk. I love this stuff! I saved about $6 using Subscribe & Save versus going to the store. I feel good about supporting this company because they believe in responsible, sustainable farming. But besides that, this milk is just delicious. Room temperature or chilled, it's equally tasty. I mixed it with coffee this morning and it's great too. I also dilute it sometimes with regular skim milk to dial down the sweetness.

The box arrives well packaged. It's a box inside a box. The inner box is bubble-wrapped for extra protection. Unopened, the cartons do not need refrigeration and can be stored on a shelf.

I found this drink on a whim. And haven't looked back since. All the other positive reviews are TRUE!!! This IS the BEST chocolate "milk alternative" even beyond Almond Milk. I think Almond Milk is still relevant, because it offers a different nutritional profile than Hazelnuts, but they complement eachother. I buy both now (Almond milk and this Hazelnut Drink) and alternate, but I gotta admit, I'm starting to become gravitated towards the Hazelnut because it just tastes so freakin awesome. Pacific Natural Foods did a DAMN good job on this one, and they BETTER not stop this product line. I think it's so new that it's still catching on, but like I said, all the good reviews are spot on. You almost ask yourself "is this really good for me? it tasted just way too good to be good for me" but it IS good for you! Hazelnuts are rich in Omegas, and this drink also has MUCH LESS sugar than most Almond Milks, and STILL tastes better. Just try not to finish an entire carton in like 2 days, I'm not kidding... My friend is adding it to other drink mixes too. On the sinful side every once in a while (at night) add a dash of Kahlua to a glass, and watch out! lol

Health Valley Cobbler Cereal Bars, Blueberry, 6 ct, 7.9 oz

Health Valley Cobbler Cereal Bars, Blueberry, 6 ct, 7.9 ozHealthy and delicious... you couldn't ask for a better treat!

Highly recommend for all those carefully watching what they eat.

That Hain Celestial company that is manufacturing Health Valley and other brands has gone crazy of late, balancing purity with excess calories and lack of nutritional value. If you know anything at all about nutrition, and you review Hains other products, you will see the consistency. Hains canned products in fact all come in cans that develop metal whiskers that can break off into the sauce. I think Hains should be banned, and all its subsidiary products along with it, like Health Valley, for customer fraud and endangerment.

Homemade Granola - 1 lb Bag

Homemade Granola - 1 lb BagThe Amish are known for growing their own foods, marketing their own produce, and respecting nature (all organic) in the process. It should come as no surprise then that this Amish HOMEMADE GRANOLA lives up to some very high expectations and standards. The cereal offered here in promptly delivered 1 pound bags carefully packaged contains rolled oats, unprocessed wheat or oat bran, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, pineapple and bananas, honey, wheat germ, coconut, almonds, vanilla, honey, cinnamon, brown sugar and vegetable oil.

Not only a fine breakfast treat or hearty snack, this granola can be incorporated into granola breads that make date-nut or banana bread seem outclassed. For flavor and nutritional value, this is a solid product. Maybe the first order will be for one pound, but chances are after that you'll order at least five bags at a time. Compared to store prices this is a bargain. Grady Harp, April 12

Nature's Path Organic Instant Hot Oatmeal Pouch Original, 14-Ounce Box (Pack of 6)

Nature's Path Organic Instant Hot Oatmeal Pouch Original, 14-Ounce BoxI have been eating Nature's Path Original oatmeal for two years. It's become one of my standard breakfast foods. I especially love the fact that it does not have anything added, so I can add my own ingredients, like Vegan protein powder (to make "protmeal") or dried berries. Unfortunately, the last box I purchased is WAY TOO SALTY!! I don't like a lot of salt in the first place. It definitely does not mix well with the protein powder or dried berries. The packaging recently changed on this product and apparently so did the salt content, despite the fact the Ingredients stayed the same and the Nutrition Facts changed -the Sodium count actually went down! Either Nature's Path needs to reduce the amount of salt or I will have to find another plain oatmeal to eat.

Excellent oatmeal. Great as a base for adding honey, dried fruits, and nuts. My favorite oatmeal ever. Very satisfying. Boil water in kettle, add half a cup or more of the boiling water, stir, and let sit for four or five minutes. Delicious! It keeps you full all morning long. I like that it is organic, steel cut oats and bran, and it has no additives, colorings, or preservatives.

This oatmeal is too salty and my husband cannot eat it. I have even tried to mix it with other oatmeal and he still cannot eat it. I am very disappointed in this product since I have ordered it numerous times and the last two times I have ordered it, it has been too salty. My husband used to enjoy this oatmeal but not now. He has oatmeal every day and this will not be his brand of choice any more!

There must be something wrong with these. The nutrition facts say there is only 120 mg of sodium, but I just threw out what I had left, couldn't eat it anymore. I can't really describe how salty this is, but it is really like someone dumped a entire shaker in each bowl. Real Bad. Whole Foods 365 brand is the way to go. Same price, no salty taste.

Nature's Path Organic Flax Plus Pumpkin Granola Cereal, 11.5-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)

Nature's Path Organic Flax Plus Pumpkin Granola Cereal, 11.5-Ounce Boxesthis is a very delicious cereal. it was all the things they said it was, the two issues about it for me is that calorie/fat content. 260 cal./10 grams of fat per serving seems a bit high, even for a granola based cereal. and the next problem is the flaxseed, they didn't grind them. like many of you know, when you don't grind flaxseed, it will pass strait through your digestive system. now at first i thought, "well im eating the cereal, a good chewing should do the job just fine", but thats not the case. not to be gross, but i saw flaxseed in my stool, the seeds in whole. you probably only effectively breaking down about 2/5 of the seeds. so you're obviously not getting nearly as much nutritional value from it compared to if they would just pre-grind it.

but other than that its a great cereal, the taste is an unmistakable 10, nice fiber content and organic. i will still buy in the future, just not as often as i would've liked though

This cereal is so good. Where I live, I can't find it for less than $5 a box. On subscribe & save, it's about $3 a box. Great deal, and way better than other cereals that claim to be "healthy."

I got my first box of this cereal at Target. it was on sale, 3 dollars and 4 cents. I'm kind of a health food freak, I saw "flax plus" and the USDA organic symbol and tossed it in the cart along with my recycled toilet paper and organic zBars.

Did I know I was carrying around a slice of heaven? Had I known, I would have bought all the boxes in my local Target. But I didn't find this out until the next morning.

Every morning I slid out of bed at 6 am and go get my breakfast. Warm oatmeal with bananas usually perks me up a bit, but that day I decided to try my new cereal. I added vanilla almond milk and sliced banana. I took one bite and I danced. It was so good. It is so good. I eat handfuls of it and then cry for the beauty of the moment and the taste of the cereal. it's just so good! How do they do it? It's just so good. Now in the mornings I jump out of bed and fly down the stairs so I can eat Organic Flax Plus Granola. It's just that good.

Are you an on-the-fencer, unsure if you want to bound through the lush meadow that is this granola? Do it. You won't regret it.

It makes me dance.

Bob's Red Mill Organic High Fiber Hot Cereal with Flaxseed, 20-Ounce Bags (Pack of 4)

Bob's Red Mill Organic High Fiber Hot Cereal with Flaxseed, 20-Ounce BagsBeen eating this cereal for about a year now. For a couple of years I had been eating a brand that's sold in our area, but it was not organic. Once I saw this on amazon I had to try it. I eat it five to six mornings a week. I substitute once or twice a week with organic eggs, cheese & vege's. When I eat this cereal I mix it with organic frozen blueberries & a banana. What a way to start the day. My blood work at my last yearly physical was excellent, and my doctor let me know. I'm 52 years old and abused my body for 25 years with drugs and alcohol. I now live a clean life, spirit, mind, & body and this product fits right in. Have plans to try a few more of Bob's products in the future.

This is an amazing hot cereal. It has no artificial ingredients. It is very high in fiber, which means it should lower cholesterol. Since I have started eating it, my high blood pressure has dropped nicely. I try to cook it as little as possible, so I put it in a bowl of hot water, and then microwave it for only one minute. I add a little sweetener, usually stevia and/or Splenda, and then I eat it. Some people may not like the taste (a few might say it tastes like sawdust), but I think it's delicious. Cheap, healthful, easy to fix, filling, and delicious ... what more could you want?

WILLAMETTE VALLEY Granola Chips, Wild Berry, 6.2-OunceI received my first bag of Willamette Valley Granola Chips as a Christmas gift last year, and they have quickly become one of my very favorite, "no-guilt" snacks low fat, all natural, healthy ingredients, and delicious! It's a great way to enjoy granola in a crispy, bite-size form. They could easily become habit-forming...I can't imagine anyone not liking them.

So far I've tried the wild berry and butter pecan flavors and both are terrific. Hoping to also give the honey nut and vanilla bean a try soon. They come in a convenient resealable bag that retains freshness well. I think you can't go wrong with this fine product!
