Lipton Yellow Label Tea Bags 100ct

Lipton Yellow Label Tea Bags 100ctI've been drinking Yellow Label Tea since the 80's. This is an excellent and versitile tea, makes for a good hot tea and also a refreshing iced tea. A bit stronger than regular "brisk lipton" tea typically found in the U.S. I used to have to wait until I traveled to the British Virgin Islands or the Bahamas to find this tea, but now it's on Amazon (darn, my excuses to travel are dwindling!). This is an Orange Pekoe tea in 200g bags. You can find different varieties of tea marked with the "Lipton Yellow Label" brand, usually loose leaf teas. For instance I have a Sri Lanka-packed metal tin of "Pure Ceylon," a box of "Coarse Black Tea" packed in Mumbai, and another "new bright & rich" Mumbai variety which is a blend of "Assam teas." These other varieties can be found in middle eastern, Indian, and Asian markets here in the US. All good teas, but this Orange Pekoe in the bags is the most convenient and has the smoothest flavour.

Traveling world wide, I've come to much prefer good tea to bad coffee, and good teas are so much more common.

Yellow Label is one of the most popular teas in the world because it has a rich, clean flavor without bitterness. Its clear distinctive red color makes it also one of the prettiest. The only supermarket teas I've found in the US that taste similar are the "English Breakfast" labels. If you like these, or like strong black tea flavor without the bitterness or muddiness of overbrewing the usual black teas, you should try Yellow Label.

I first enjoyed Yellow Label in the Caribbean 20 yrs ago and have since in travels worldwide been looked at oddly at groceries as I purchased 20 boxes to take home. There it was only tea, in the US it wasn't available...or oddly in London which appears on the label. A letter to Lipton 6 years ago gave no explanation for not marketing in the US, just "coupons to try our other brands". Finally, Amazon has it and even better a market in Chinatown here in NYC.

What makes it great? It's the only black tea that is full flavored but not bitter. It's so smooth that you literally can make a pot of it, leave the bags in, reheat it the next day and still have no bitterness. This is a tea lover's tea that I have turned numerous travel companions onto for life and something I would be lost without.

I was first given a box of this Yellow Label from a co-worker who had traveled to China. I instantly fell in love with the smooth flavor. I found it in a Food Max in Stockton, Ca but then the store closed down. I have been on a search for the last two months because my loose leaf is almost gone also. I was brewing the tea for the staff in my office and they all love it, so when I ran out of tea bags they all wanted to know where I got the tea from. The flavor is so smooth that you almost do not need any type of sweetner at all. This should be made available in the states in at least one major grocery store. I am buying enough to share with my friends.....

. . . you'll love this one. I fell in love with this black tea blend when I lived in Europe, and was disappointed when I returned to America that I couldn't buy it here. One taste of this smooth tea and you might change from coffee. It's the best cup of tea you'll ever drink.

Ener G Foods Tapioca Dinner Roll

Ener G Foods Tapioca Dinner RollI really love these! They are a bit dry straight from the package, so I have found the best way to eat them is to wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave them for about 30 seconds. They're also great dipped in soups or gravy! I also recommend slicing them in half and covering with a little butter and putting them in the oven at 350 until the butter melts and the edges get browned. That makes a great breakfast "biscuit" type roll or for burgers! :) I also love that they don't have eggs and are vegan!

Belvita Breakfast Biscuit, Blueberry, 8.8-Ounce (Pack of 3)

Belvita Breakfast Biscuit, Blueberry, 8.8-OunceI just tried these and they are great. They do not have a funny aftertaste and the blueberry pieces are real blueberrys. I just checked the price on here and it is way too expensive they are much cheaper in the stores...Amazon please sell these without going through a third party.

These blueberry biscuits have a wonderful crunch and a strong blueberry smell and flavor that is great. All natural ingredients and a convenient, healthy way to start my day. Easy to take on the road in the am. Each pouch has 4 biscuits. Just enough for a quick snack. Better prices at the grocery store right now because of the shipping costs. I hope Amazon puts these on the subscribe and save list so we can stock up! YUM!

Excellent cookies for both kids and adults alike. No hydrogenated oils or artificial color. But way more expensive here than at the store.

Okay, I am usually a bit wary of most breakfast "cookies" or "bars," as the nutritional profile tends to be pretty poor. I think it is important to get protein and fiber with breakfast, so if I want a bar, I'll reach for something like a Luna Nutrition Bar, Blueberry Bliss.

I first decided to try BelVita Breakfast "Biscuits" because I had a coupon. When I checked them out in the store, I was impressed to see that the nutritional profile was actually decent: these cookies (for that is really what they are) provide 4 grams of protein (could be better, but not bad), 3 grams of fiber, and 18 grams of whole grain. They are lower in sugar than most other bars (13 grams), and although the fat content is a bit high at 8 grams, there is only a trace of saturated fat (.5 grams).

I was also surprised to see that you get a generous four biscuits per serving (they are thin, but good-sized). The best part, however, is that these biscuits are delicious!!! They are crispy and buttery-tasting, with bits of real blueberries in every bit. I admit, these aren't my absolute healthiest breakfast (I'll usually have a little plain, non-fat yogurt along with them), but as an occasional treat, they are a yummy, guilt-free indulgence.

I grabbed these today, one of those running late daysskipped breakfast and found myself starving. I have a dairy allergy*, and it was the first of 10 or so "breakfast " items that I checked in the aisle that didn't contain milk ingredients. I immediately regretted my decision when I got back to the office, because I actually looked at the boxnot just the ingredientsand it looked pretty unappetizing. When I opened the pack, I smelled blueberries, and the pieces in the cookie seemed to be actual blueberries! They tasted great, it reminded me of the blueberry muffins I used to get from Dunkin Donuts. Granted, I haven't had dairy products in forever, and consequently cant eat most fast food or prepackaged stuff, so they may not taste as great to someone who can have the real thingbut they are the perfect thing to have on hand for mornings like today, or when my family gets donuts so I can pretend its a muffin. Waaaa allergies suck.

*note to people with allergies, it DOES contain wheat and soy, so not gluten free

Bear Naked - Fit Granola 100% Pure & Natural Vanilla Almond Crunch - 12 oz.

Bear Naked - Fit Granola 100% Pure & Natural Vanilla Almond Crunch - 12 oz.I prefer healthy granola/cereal for my breakfast, which is why I went with a bag of Bear Naked Fit Vanilla Almond Crunch. While it tastes alright, it gets bland and boring really fast. Luckily there's a decent amount of vanilla flavor, but it needs something else.

The granola is mainly just whole oats, which is difficult to chew and takes awhile. The mouth-feel isn't nearly as appealing as other granola on the market. It doesn't really get soggy in milk, either.

The almonds in this granola are whole, but few and far between. While normally I like whole almonds in granola, this granola type would be much better with lots of almond slivers instead. I think that would greatly enhance this granola.

The flavor is mainly oats and vanilla, and both are mild. That's why I got tired of it quickly. I ended up mixing it into other granola to use it up.

This is a healthy granola, with a very low sugar content, which is nice. However, it doesn't taste good enough for me to keep buying more of. I like other Bear Naked granola, but this one is low on my list.

Strawberry Rhubarb Jam 10oz

Strawberry Rhubarb Jam 10ozThis was the second product from Barry Farms I've tried and I was not disappointed. The jam definitely hits the spot when spread on a slice of toast. Move over grape jelly, Barry Farms' Strawberry Rhubarb jam is my new love!

Strawberry Rhubarb is my favorite jam. This had an odd taste and was almost chunky like it was under cooked. It spoiled within a month. I`ve never had that happen before.

Thank you for taking the time to make this jam and making it available to consumers... not many people know about rhubarb, let alone that it can be used in jams, as well as pies and cobblers. My dad grew rhubarb every year while I was growing up... quite a special treat!

Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookie Caramel Apple, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped Cookies (Pack of 12)

Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookie Caramel Apple, 3-Ounce Individually Wrapped CookiesThis is one of my favorite in the Erin Baker line of Breakfast cookies, the cookie has an oatmeal base but is not a "heavy" cookie. It is nice and moist and has little pieces of caramel in the cookie. I like the fact that the cookie packs a lot in a little package280 calories for this cookie, no transfat, 20% of your daily fiber, no cholesterol and chock full of healthy ingredients to get you started (it does however have 23 gr. of sugar, so if you are looking for low sugar, this probably isn't for you). I have to say I was skeptical that this would carry me to lunch because it is just one large cookie, and not like one of those overly heavy, hockey puck like items you expect when you see something is full of fiber, it also didn't have that saw dust kind of texture you get from some power bars. This definitely has enough of the right stuff to keep me full for several hours. My favorite way to eat these cookies are to stick them in the microwave for 20-25 seconds so they get soft and the caramel melts just a little.

I pretty much like all of the flavors, but overall this one is probably my most favorite. The other nice thing is that these cookies are meant to freeze and can freeze up to a year. The box of twelve cookies are all individually wrapped and I take them straight from freezer to microwave, for a quick, nutritious breakfast that is both satisfying and delicious.

I'm happy to see that amazon seems to be carrying more of the Baker line, which also saves tremendously on the shipping costs!

My husband and I have tried to change our eating habits this year and part of that has been making sure we have something for breakfast. I don't know about everyone else, but we are not friends with our alarm clock. We have a slap fight every morning with it until we realize we must obey if we want to keep our jobs. Needless to say, there is no time for breakfast before we rush out the door.

This is where these cookies come in very handy. The first time we bought them we kept them in our pantry (I think we bought 60 that time to try a variety of flavors). Unfortunately, by the time we reached the last dozen, they had gone bad and were a bit fuzzy. Now this is actually a good thing! Mold can't grow without moisture, so this tells you the cookies are moist! Because they are all natural and are not made with preservatives, it is only reasonable that they would have a shorter shelf life.

Next order we popped a weeks worth in the fridge and put the rest in the freezer. We did this because my husband likes to eat them in morning traffic on his way to work so frozen cookies wouldn't work for him. I on the other hand work in a very small office so I brought a variety to work and put them in our freezer. In the morning I just pop one into the microwave for 45 seconds and I have a warm, tasty breakfast. I especially like the gooeyness of the melted caramel and chocolate from those varieties.

At an average of 300 calories it is a good meal alternative and is very filling. It is a nice alternative to drinking a slim fast for breakfast, though I do sometimes still do Slimfast for breakfast and have a cookie for lunch.

I would like to see them come in a variety dozen.

As with a lot of older people, my 85 year old mother tends to skip breakfast and since she takes several medications, I thought she should have something to eat with the meds. She lives in MO, I live in TX so I can't run over to take her breakfast. I have ordered Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies and had them sent to her a couple of times. She has enjoyed all of them. I have to eat gluten free so I have not personally tasted them but she says all of the flavors I have sent were very good. They make a great "gift" for her once you are that age, there is very little that you need as a gift for an occasion, birthday, Mother's Day, Christmas, etc. I have found that giving her something edible makes way more sense than giving her something that will just clutter up her house.

My wife and I have tried just about all the flavors of Erin Baker's Breakfast Cookies. They're all good -moist, filling, and they keep well in the freezer as well as in tins. They're easy to warm in the microwave, too; about 30 seconds if frozen, about 12-15 seconds otherwise. Just clip off the end of the individual package and zap. (Those who complain about about dryness may have put one in a toaster for too long.) As to the ingredients, I looked at the list on the back of the 'Caramel Apple' version to see the dreaded "corn syrup" someone complained about. First, it's NOT HFCS. Second, it's in the caramel! Most of the cookies don't have any.

The only reason we don't give this cookie 5 stars is that they are very, very sweet for our tastes. The sweetness may even prevent some from being able to detect all the other flavors. Dried apples and unsweetened apple sauce are good ingredients, prune puree isn't bad either, the apple pie-type spices are very nice, and a little molassas is traditional. It's the evaporated cane juice and brown rice syrup in the cookie and the liquid sugar and corn syrup in the caramel bits that may take the sweetness over the top for some. The way we see it, this is a highly portable breakfast for when you're in a hurry, and it may be low fat/high fiber, but don't kid yourself -it's a cookie. We'd recommend drinking something like V-8 as well as something hot like tea with milk or a skinny latte to round out this quickie cookie breakfast. (Just watch your sweet intake for the rest of the day ....)

Bought these so I could eat them for breakfast when I'm really short on time or to eat during break time from work and wow, they are so good!! Also brought a couple of them over to a trip to Europe and they were perfect! I never got tired of these at all! I haven't tried the other ones but this Caramel Apple breakfast cookie is so delicious! The ingredients that are in here are the real thing: whole grain oats, dried apples, caramel bits and apple pie spice, to name a few. No high-fructose corn syrup, trans-fats or artificial anything will you find in these, which is even more awesome. Nice that they're individually wrapped and just the right size! Since there's no preservatives, you may want to freeze them so they'll last longer just heat them up in the microwave and they'll taste great! I do not regret buying these at all very happy to have bought these!!

Nature's Path Organic Optimum Power Breakfast Cereal, Blueberry Cinnamon Flax, 14-Ounce Boxes (Pack

Nature's Path Organic Optimum Power Breakfast Cereal, Blueberry Cinnamon Flax, 14-Ounce BoxesNature's Path is my favorite cereal brand, and OPTIMUM Blueberry is my favorite of them all.

I've been enjoying this cereal for well over 5 years.

It's organic, and full of wonderful beneficial whole grains etc. just read the ingredients list!

It has a mixture of textures, with "twigs", "puffs", flakes, seeds and the little dried blueberries.

It's great with soy milk, dairy milk, yogurt, and even right out of the box as a snack.

I haven't bought it for awhile because it never seems to go on sale anymore, so I was thrilled to find it here on sale for $2.20 a box!

I just got my shipment from Amazon, and want to add a few notes:

While the cereal seems very fresh, I couldn't find an expiration date anywhere on the boxes.

They have changed the packaging, making it even more eco-friendly, and also slightly reformulated the cereal. The box says "Now with 25% less sugar than our previous recipe" Yay! (Don't worry, if you've had this cereal before the change, the taste is still wonderful.) So the "Nutrition Facts" have changed (not drastically) from what Amazon shows, but the fiber has dropped from 10g to 7g. The serving size is still the same at 1 cup (55g).

Here are some of the differences that may be important to you:

Calories were 190, now 200

Protein was 8g, now 9g

Total Fat was 2.5g, now 3g (Still none are saturated fat)

Total Carbs were 40g, now 38g

Fiber was 10g, now 7g (Boo!)

Sugars were 16g, now 9g (Yay!)

Sodium was 200mg, now 230mg

The cinnamon flavor is very mild, I usually add more for flavor and health benefits. I also add a small amount of walnuts (for extra EFA's, taste and crunch), or pecans. Read Update below for more additions.

Unless you are hooked on the average sickeningly-sweet, unhealthy, over-processed mainstream cereals, I think you will love this as much as I do! If you want to try a box before you buy it in bulk here, I've found it at most health food stores, Fry's / Kroger's in their health food sections, and Sprouts.

Even if you are hooked on the other stuff, give this a try, you might be pleasantly surprised. I had bought this for my parents and their verdict is: Dad loves it, Mom likes it.

Update 6/6/09: I just responded with these comments in another review, and thought they might be helpful:

I too would enjoy more berries in the cereal, but it would probably make the price astronomical, so I usually add a little of "Just Tomatoes" brand of freeze dried mixed fruit which is yummy and has a good mix of fruit though I could do without the raisins, they're not so good freeze dried.

Just Tomatoes Just Fruit Munchies, 8-Ounce Tubs (Pack of 2)

They also have only blueberries

Just Tomatoes Just Blueberries, 8-Ounce Tub

plus strawberries, raspberries, apples, pineapple etc. just search "just tomatoes" without quotes in the grocery drop down in the search box.

I first found them at my local upscale grocery store (in smaller sized containers) and they are a little less expensive here, but I also like to support the local store, so I buy them from both places.

There is another brand that I haven't tried, but has gotten great reviews called Traverse Bay that has dried blueberries

Traverse Bay Dried Blueberries, 8-Ounce Bags (Pack of 3)

Traverse Bay Dried Blueberries, 4 lbs

You don't need to use a whole lot in the cereal so they last for awhile. One tip is to keep them in the freezer so they stay crunchy.

Hope this helps!

This cereal is my mainstay. While trying to keep my weight down, it's a great snack to grab instead of something not near as healthy. I can no longer find it in any of the nearby stores, so I have it delivered monthly from Amazon. Really helpful. A healthy, delicious cereal for kids and adults. My grandchildren love to snack on it while watching TV.

All six boxes have a sell by date of April 2012

The product description states that it contains 100% of the RDA for Vitamin B12.

The product delivered contains no B12 what so ever!

Nature's Path rep told me that they stopped fortifying their cereals in 2008.

The product is also on the non returnable list.

If one views all the other vendors on Amazon they all use the same incorrect description.

None of Nature's Path cereals are fortified with B12.

Who would ever believe it would be enticing to hear a cereal product called a "crunchy fiber twig"? Well, it actually did appeal to me because I get so tired of nothing but mush in my cereal bowl as soon as I add the liquid. And this product did not disappoint, at least not where crispiness was concerned. I liked reading the box with the folksy, down home feeling used to convey the basic philosophy of the company and their own naturally biased view of their product. As always though, it's up to the consumer to separate the hype from the facts.

The box I bought in the grocery store is different from the one pictured here and I think there has been recent repackaging and reformulating of the cereal. I notice here on Amazon that the product description specifically says there is no vitamin B12 or Folic Acid in this product so that must have been a sticking point before. I found that the cereal itself had a quite nice "nutty" taste and the fiber twigs are very crunchy. A serving size is quoted to be 3/4 cup which is 200 calories. The sugar content per serving is 9g and sodium count is 230mg. The description of the sugar source is "evaporated cane juice". From reading the nutritional list I know not to count on this cereal to supply any appreciable amount of my daily requirements for vitamins or minerals. There are 13 ingredients listed for this cereal. I find it quite interesting that it is called Blueberry Cinnamon Flax when flax is listed as ingredient #5, blueberries as #10 and cinnamon as #12. But something we consumers can easily forget is that these ingredients are listed in order of their volume within the combination. I poured out some dry cereal and tasted each item separately. There is a definite sweet coating on each piece with the exception of the blueberries which have a concentration of their own sweetness from being freeze-dried.

My findings are that the flakes get soggy almost immediately but the "crunchy fiber twigs" stayed crunchy all the way to the final twig, and I'm a dawdler over my cereal. It took me more than 15 minutes to finish the bowl because I was reading and the twigs were still crisp. This cereal does not contain flax SEEDS and it never claims to. If you are expecting seeds, you will be disappointed. There are not many blueberries, but the ones here are very flavorful. In order to get as many blueberries as I would like the box would have to contain almost half blueberries and that is not just ridiculous, it would also be cost prohibitive. I simply accept that as a fact. I used Kefir instead of milk for the yogurt cultures I want and added a fresh peach. This combination (even at the 3/4 cup recommended portion size) lasted me all morning. I was impressed. To begin with I had been slightly worried about the cinnamon flavor in the cereal because that isn't something I'm particularly fond of. I need not have worried because I could not actually taste the cinnamon at all. If you look forward to that taste, you will have some objections to the company using that as a selling point for this product. On another day I took a small zip closure bag of this cereal with me when I knew stopping for lunch would be a problem. It was really good dry from the bag and kept me from giving in to the temptation to stop at a fast food restaurant. Now that was a bonus. I plan to order the six box package here on Amazon. The price is virtually the same as in my grocery store chain, but my store has a monopoly in our area and they stock what they chose when they chose. This is my way of spending MY money the way I want.
