Post Shredded Wheat Lightly Frosted Cereal, Spoon Size, 19-Ounce Boxes

The previous "Frosted Shredded Wheat" made by Post---until last year, unfortunately---was much better...frosted on one side and not the other (like Kellogs' version). This new "Lightly Frosted" version isn't nearly as good, even though the sugar content is the same as before. It just doesn't pack the same punch when the sugar is coated around the whole biscuit.

Still not a bad cereal, but I don't reach for it on the shelf quite as often now.

I love this cereal, easy to eat out of the box. Sweet but not too sweet and very crunchy. Since Frosted Mini Wheats have gelatin in them they are not an option for vegans or vegetarians, these are the best replacement.

Post's Shredded Wheat isn't really what's pictured on the box. Instead of a block of wheat with one side frosted and one side not, it's a block of wheat that's very lightly frosted all over. This isn't necessarily bad, but because the layer of frosting completely surrounds the block, it makes it more tough/crunchy than what I'm used to. The shreds of wheat are also a little more compacted than Frosted Mini Wheats it's a little harder to chew if you're eating it plain without milk, but will stay crunchy a little longer if you eat it with milk. Despite the full coating of frosting, it isn't overly sweet. All in all, it definitely wasn't bad, but I probably won't buy it again in the future. Try a box before ordering the pack of 4 like I did!

This cereal is a big hit in our household. Don't know if the "Lightly Frosted" is misleading or not but this is pretty sweet. Nice texture and very yummy. My only complaint is that I can't stop with just one bowl and others in the house who will remain nameless sometimes stash a box in their truck for road snacking.

I think this cereal is very good but I have one complaint. It says "lightly frosted" but I found the cereal to be very sweet. Not exactly a bad thing, simply unexpected.

Kashi Kashi 7 Whole Grain Pilaf ( 12x19.5 OZ)

I love this stuff! Delicious whole grain, easy to fix. I make it in the microwave. I don't think it has any microwave instructions, but I'm prone to burning rice type stuff on the stove. I use twice as much water as pilaf mix, bring to a boil on high. Place glass lid on corningware. Heat on medium heat until all the water is absorbed. Add more water if you want it softer. Times vary according to volume, natch, but usually 10 minute bursts work: 10 minutes high, 10 minutes at 70% or whatever, another 10 minutes at 70%. I like to let it sit covered between the last two ten minutes and after. As long as it's hot and covered it will absorb water. Can't wait to try it in a pressure cooker to get the cook times down, but thus far, I let it cook while I'm making a curry or something else.

Love it! Delicious as is, or add a dollop of butter and garlic and spices.

My whole family LOVES this stuff. I make it with Better than Boullion chicken instead of water and it is so good. I buy a case and freeze. It's also good prepared with water for breakfast, add butter or milk & sugar. yummm...

Kashi makes some fine things, but this "7 Grain Whole Pilaf" is in my opion their best. It is very versatile and easy to prepare, and can even be cooked in a rice cooker. It's great plain as a hot cereal, makes a wonderful pilaf, and a delicious salad. It also makes a great base for vegetable patties or loaf. Just about any dish using a grain base works well. I could make a different dish everyday with it and never tire of it!

This product is my favorite substitution for rice and pasta, and couscous. Yes, it sounds extraordinarily "healthy" (and it is!) but it is also quite tasty and goes with all the same things you would put rice in: soup, casseroles, red-sauced dishes, cold or room-temperature Mediterranean salads, in place of Quinoa, and Wheat-berries. The other unknown and un-advertised feature is that it is a wonderful, painless "Colon stimulator", If you catch my drift. Wonderful, huge, and satisfying 'presentations', if you will!

I order it here because I no longer live in the City, where it is liberally available in local supermarket. This, indeed, was a happy find.

My husband and I both have very low sodium diets and know how difficult it is to find low sodium products that taste good. This is one. We have had Arrowhead Mills Amaranth Flakes every day for breakfast ever since we discovered the product a couple of years ago. We are vegetarians, and also limit our fats and sugars.

What on earth DO they eat, you might ask...well, Amaranth Flakes is one thing : ). We love them, and recommend them as all organic, healthy (zero sodium) and tasty.

Wheat Free, Gluten Free, Low Sugar and Sodium and very easy to digest. Nice taste and I feel great afterwards. Excellent for a Healthy Lifestyle.

I eat amaranth as both a glutten-free food and as an excellent nutrient for my blood type (A). The Arrowhead Mills brand is the least complex, mass produced and thus widely available, amaranth cereal product I've found and I highly recommend it for blood type As with intestinal challenges such as Crohn's/Colitis or other less challenging IBS issues. Slightly less excellent, but more crunchy and tasty, is the Arrowhead Mills Organic Maple Buckwheat cereal which I also recommend for those seeking a glutten-free breakfast.

I bought this because I was looking for a lower-carb cereal that tastes good. I read the reviews and agree, this tastes great. It does get soggy fairly fast, but that doesn't bother me at all. So I give this one 5 stars.

Very dry with not much taste. I hate to waste them but I will be glad when I finish the last box.

I used to always eat Steelcut oatmeal but I am so bored of it, and it doesn't have much in the way of protein. I discovered this product and love it because it has way more protein from chia, flax, etc. and is so versatile! I can't stand flavored hot cereals, they always put too much sugar in it. I love that this is lightly sweet and naturally sweetened so I can dress it up.

I love eating it 2 different ways:

1. I just put a few tablespoons into a smoothie that I sometimes blend in the morning. Its good for extra fiber and the little bits of dried fruit and yummy.

2. I eat it like I used to eat my oatmeal I add hot water, then top it with plain greek yogurt, add chopped bananas for sweetness and nuts.

I wouldn't eat it alone, to me it is a healthy base that you can customize however you prefer.

Lunds Swedish Pancake Mix, 12-Ounce (Pack of 6)

I've been buying and serving Lund's Swedish pancake mix for many years. My grandmother was Swedish and she used to make us Swedish pancakes when we were very young children. This mix tastes just like her homemade Swedish pancakes! Yum!

I am ordering these today, but have eaten them many times. No longer available in the stores I used to buy them in, I have eaten these since childhood. And like the other reviewer said, you can easily recreate IHOPs Swedish crepes using this mix. If you are near IKEA, they sell Lingonberry jelly which is very low carb and low sugar and is wonderul. I mix some into butter and then put a spoon or 2 of the jelly on top as well. Mmmmm, can't wait til these get shipped!!!!

For years I have loved getting the Swedish Crepes from IHOP. Everytime we went I would get this dish. My wife surprised me one day by making Swedish Crepes with the Lingonberry preservers and the Lingonberry butter! It is the BEST breakfast I have ever had and will be having a major impact to my waistline. I refuse to let her make them for anyone else, not even the kids. The Lingonberries are an excellent cross between cranberries and strawberries. Not too sweet not too tart. Wish the price was a little better otherwise highly recommend. This truly is my favorite bar-I would not call myself an health expert. I was looking for a tasty bar that was not loaded with sugar and completely portable for the in between places snack! I also know I am not a banana fan-but the combination of flavors reminds me of banana bread. I admit not as good as real warm banana bread with a pat of butter on it! But, the texture is perfect for me-I don't like granola bars for overly crunchy, messy part. The flavors are well balanced and they are easy to open, pop in your mouth while you hustle off to the next thing. I totally appreciate that. It is sustainable boost that can get you to that next meal without losing energy or your shining attitude.

I've tried Banana Nut, Super Protein and Peanut Crunch Odwalla Food Bars, and like all of them very much! These baked bars have good texture and taste. These days, it's hard to find a good, nutritious snack both kids and parents enjoy. Odwalla Banana Nut bars fit the bill perfectly. They not only taste good but they are good for you as well. Finding snacks that don't have partially hydrogenated oils is getting easier but finding them without high fructose corn syrup is not. The Odwalla bars have neither. The best part, though, is that they are organic, healthy, and my kids LOVE them! My 9-yr-old daughter will sometimes have an Odwalla bar and yogurt for a quick breakfast if we're in a hurry. To date, we have only tried the banana nut bars (we buy them by the case) but we are looking to try more flavors.

The ingredients look to be mostly the same, but there's now 1g LESS protein in the bar. Not sure what they did to the formula. Maybe fewer nuts...

Nairn's Organic Oat Cakes (8.82 ounce)

Although it is a bit alarming to have these given a 5 star review by a cheesewhiz afficianado, (a condiment competing for most vile non-food item on the supermarket shelf imo), these actually are really fabulous. They have a mealy texture and great oaty/oily taste that is better than any other oat cake I have tried, and better than any other cracker too. My babies also love them and as non wheat products are suitable for the young and for the allergic.

As someone who has trouble with products containing gluten, I was thrilled to find these crackers. I was concerned that they might be too hard, since the box says "baked with rough oatmeal, for a coarse oaty texture". If I had to describe them, I'd say mealy. Unlike a lot of gluten free products, these didn't come broken. They are delicious, and very filling. I had two as a snack, and then couldn't eat lunch for awhile! I had mine with peanut butter, but they'd be fabulously addictive with cheese or Cheez Whiz. We're all about Cheez Whiz at my house and buy it in bulk. Give these little charmers a try, and you won't want to be without them. Millions of Scotsmen can't be wrong, and neither can I!

I love these! I've previously had Walker's Oat Cakes, but I like these much better. These are definitely a great choice alone or with cheese or peanut butter. They taste nutty and toasty, very enjoyable, and the texture is chewy, yet not too hard. I'm about to order several boxes of these, as I don't want to run out!

This product was shipped from the UK so had to drive to USPS office to sign for the box. When I opened the container each box was stamped with a sell-by date less than one week remaining. Not sure what the shelf life is but the first box seemed ok. Trouble is, I now have 11 boxes remaining and my customer will not take them.

A great non-wheat option for babies younger than one year. Very crumbly, so they are not a choking hazard. Wish we'd found them earlier, as they keep our daughter entertained and happy while we enjoy our dinner.

Eden Brown Rice & Mugwort Mochi

This Mochi is very hard to come by in the US. This is authentic "Kusa Mochi, or Mugwort Mochi that is popular in Japan. I love Eden's version as theirs are made of brown rice instead of white sweet rice. Of course the mochi with white sweet rice makes it more starchy and sweeter, but considering health benefits of using brown rice, this is the winner! Just bake it on a sheet of aluminum foil in an over toaster at 450 degree temperature for about 5 to 10 minutes, or you see it's puffed up for about an inch. It's ready to eat, and my favorite way to eat is to wrap it with a sheet of toasted "nori" or seaweed, and dip in a soy sauce or famous Liquid Amino to enjoy! The use of Mochi is endless miso soup, or with noodles like udon, soba, or ramen. They are bit pricey and I wish they are available at cheaper price, but Amazon's subscription price is the best price I found so far online.

Nice taste and fast shipping. eaten without heated is also good. best for school and work. I will consider it next time if I wanna buy some snack.

Bear Valley Pemmican Fruit 'n Nut ( 12x3.75 OZ)

If you are trying to lose weight, don't get these bars! They are calorie-dense. One bar has almost 400 calories. I have tried many other competitor's bars and this one actually tastes like food and not some chunk of chewy dough or play-doh. The bar is baked and preservative-free with generous chunks of fruit and nuts within. The taste and texture is wonderful and does not induce much thirst. My suggestion though is to get a variety of flavors so you don't get tired of them too quickly. If you hike/trek and need lots of calories in a compact form, I recommend these. I bought 3 boxes of mixed varieties and ate one a day for lunch in college and was never hungry. In fact, I could barely stay awake during lecture because of the caloric load. So they're best for those on the move. The closest bar in taste would be the Clif bars. However, they lack the chunkiness of nuts and fruit and have 100 fewer calories. Also, Clif bars kinda look like turds in foil...not too appetizing imo.

This had been part of a 'kit' I used to be able to find. Glad to find it after all these years.

British soldiers in the Boer War could march 36 hours before collapsing, after a meal of pemmican-and it was found in the supplies of both the North Pole and South Pole explorations. Having read those accounts, I knew I had to find this product.

This modern version is not of the the same ingredients as the earlier ones-e.g., bear grease and cranberries-(that may have been the Lewis & Clark recipe)-but modern Pemmican retains the compact and nutritious product that it was in the beginning.

I shopped around in the local stores but all I found were little candy-bar type snack foods, expensive and full of high fructose corn syrup.

I keep a few bars at work in my desk. Along with an apple, it makes a perfect meal, and so much healthier, faster, and less expensive than eating off the lunch truck.
