Traditional Irish Breakfast

My husband is an expat from the UK, and had been missing the traditional "fry-up" he could get for breakfast there. I ordered this as a surprise for him. When he tucked into his fry up, he raved about the "proper bacon" and the "proper sausage" just like he would have gotten for himself back home.

Everything was well packed, and the order arrived promptly, with a little brochure about Irish food products and info on how to cook a fry up, for those who need some help.

I am sure we'll be ordering this again, to combat future bouts of homesickness.

I get this and a whole bunch of other food items for my husband every year at Christmas time from foodirelanda huge order of food and it always arrives in perfect condition and nicely packedit's always a nice treat and like the other reviewer, my husband is from Ireland and he really appreciates all of his favorite breakfast items especially during the holidays! Most especially the puddings and the rashers which we can not find in our local store. My daughter visited Ireland a couple of years ago. She loved everything about the country, including the food. I ordered this in November for her as a Christmas gift, not thinking that the items would all be fresh in order to be the best. My fault for not looking closer. I've bought Hickory Farms for years and their stuff is processed to last forever...fresh is better, but when you spend this much for one meal you should be aware that it is not something you can save fresh for a special occasion.

They might want to put a line in the description letting people know the shelf life is not that long. It has to be eaten within a short period after you get it or frozen. Don't order too far in advance for a gift.

Classic Gourmet Food and Snack Gift Basket - Multiple Sizes

The basket I received did not contain all of the items as described/pictured. It did not contain the Camembert cheese, but instead a block of orange garlic cheese. It also contained water crackers instead of the sesame crackers. It did not contain the butter toffee popcorn or Ghiradelli chocolates at all. It did contain a package of two tea bags which is not pictured or mentioned. Also what is pictured, but not described is a box with a wafer in it. Make note the product features and product description slightly differ. The description mentions Mrs. Prindables caramel confections which the basket also did not contain. The basket looked nice, but I would say it is overpriced for what I received. Granted it is a small/cheaper basket, but it feels like it is filled with larger boxes with not much product. I gave this to my dad and when he opened the box of wafers it only contained one. The box of toffee only contained two. The truffle box is smaller/different than the one featured and looks like it contains only one or two pieces. The Camembert cheese pictured looks larger, but the garlic cheese that came in it was a smaller 6 oz piece without the fancy box. I was thinking of buying larger baskets for this Holiday season, but now I think I will pass.

I hate to not be able to say positive and glowing things about items I order, but I was a bit crest fallen when the package arrived and both baskets were not what I thought they should be. OK, I'll take the hit on that account. I ordered two of these baskets to give to two co-workers. Gave them the gifts this last Friday so they could enjoy them (hopefully) over the weekend. Just be aware that the packages are not as big as you would think from seeing the pictures, but then again, I should have used common sense, my fault. I will update this after I talk to my co-workers tomorrow. I would give this 3.5 stars but since I can't, will give them the benefit of the extra star.

We received this gift basket...very unimpressed when we opened it...very little product,fancy boxes

with tiny amounts made to look big in this basket....the butter cookies were the kind you get at

Walgreens in a tin...and they gave you a few in a little box made to look fancy. The almonds were so salty

you could not eat them and really nice that they gave you "one" package of hot chocolate makes 8oz...not even two

for you and a spouse or friend...not very professional at all. Everything was so stuck together with sticky dots that you couldn't set anything down or it stuck to something else. Lots of filler in the basket to make it look

full....they need to improve their presentation and products. Would not recommend.

It reminds me of a mix of strawberries and blueberries. The bar's taste is almost as good as the actual strawberries and blueberries I eat regularly. As with all snacks, I always consume it with a fluid which helps avoid any dryness.

The Extendbar Mixed Berry Delight is valuable. This is one of the best items for overall health that I have seen on the market. It is low in sodium and sugar (no high fructose corn syrup), and gluten free. On the other hand, high in protein (12g), good fiber (6 g), and sustained energy level. All this good nutrition and only 150 calories. .

The advertised sustained energy level is real. I have tried this for awhile without blood sugar spikes and without low blood sugar (amazing how they do it, but they do). I highly recommend this product.

If you're looking to control digestible carbs -not just sugar -then it'd be nice to know that these bars have a ton of slow-release carbs, and may not suit you.

Which is why, Amazon, it is REALLY frustrating when you don't include nutritional information for food. That's like trying to buy a book without knowing the author, or a computer without knowing how much RAM, hard disk space, or video memory it has.

Yes, sometimes that nutritional information is wrong. WE GET IT. So put on your warning, and move on. Pulling the information because some twits out there are, apparently, outfitting their Himalayan mountain expeditions based solely on the nutritional data you list, and then, I suppose, eating some of their porters when your calorie counts are off, isn't fair to the everyday Joes who just want something to munch on.

For the rest of us, we'd just like to have some small inkling of what food is in the food we're about to buy. Pretty please. Because shopping from Amazon shouldn't mean I have to spend half my time Googling each product to find out what the heck it actually is.

I am just beginning to lift weights on a regular basis & also watching my calorie intake.When I need a filling "pick me up" this bar is the best yet for me. I do not get hungry after eating one. I love the peanut butter chocolate, and the plain peanut butter is also good. This tastes artificial and has a disconcerting Pepto Bismol pink color. I would suggest other kinds.

This is a very good granola snack. They've started to sprout the pumpkin and sunflower seeds, although there's no leaves, etc., and they combined it all with apples and dates, all stirred up together, and then broken into various pieces, and bagged. It's a tiny bit sweet, but not with sugar only the fruit, and sort of crunchy, and it fills one up, and plus it's gluten free. The only bad part is the price! Schar Gluten Free Deli-Style Bread (6 Pack)

This bread is probably the best GF bread I've eaten in almost two years!! It's soft, no gritty texture, and has great flavor. The only weird thing about this product is that it comes with 5 slices. The slices are large enough to cut in half and make a sandwich with just one piece of bread, though. They are double the size of what you get from other GF brands. Most GF crusts are dry and have a distinct, icky flavor but this one doesn't. Just really good bread!

Recently I was tested for food intolerances, and I was off the charts.

I discovered that I need to be careful not only with gluten, but with eggs and dairy.

This Schar gluten-free "deli" bread is the best gluten-free bread I've eaten, bar none.

Unlike Udi's and Rudi's, whose whole wheat breads include eggs of various kinds (specifically, Rudi's has egg whites), Schar is pretty 'clean" for me. As another commenter notes, the packages have 5 slices. But I have found that a perfectly good sandwich can be made by splitting one slice into two.

Being newly GF, I was so disappointed with the choices for bread. Even thought the other Schar products are good, the bread just was not. GF bread is hard to enjoy. You can add spice to the food you put on it to take it up a notch, but I am highly allergic to onion and garlic (I know, UGH, right?)which left most things I ate tasting so bland that the bread just made it worse.

I used to love deli style breads; rye, pumpernickel, any hearty German style bread. This bread is AWESOME. No weird taste, no weird texture. I wouldn't know it was GF if it wasn't for the package saying it is, and the price! LOL I do get it at the supermarket for less than I would pay on line anywhere about $5.99 a package. The slices are large so you can make a decent lunch out of one slice cut in half... but the package does only contain 5 slices.

Like I said, hands down BEST GF BREAD EVER.

as someone who can't eat, wheat, dairy or eggs it nice to find a product that tastes good and still holds together when sliced etc without all the things in it that I can't eat. I eat all their products, but use this one in my pannini maker.

Hodgson Mill Oat Bran Hot Cereal -- 16 oz

I don't like hot cereal with sugar and milk. An addict of oat bran, I make mine with chicken broth (+half water) and a couple of added herbs and onion flavoring. Every morning it's like being allowed to eat all the delicious stuffing out of the turkey with no guilt!

Hodgson's Mill Oat Bran seems to be the best of the lot -it tastes freshly milled and it cooks quickly. But it's hard to find in certain areas and the company's customer service is not helpful when it comes to finding retailers. Thank goodness for Amazon.

As a regular user for several months now, it's nice to report a weight loss, even during the holiday season and cold winter. Could that be because a bowl of oat bran (with no added fat) is so filling that snacks and even lunch become unnecessary?

I used to eat Quaker Oat Bran but one day discovered Hodgson's. I eat it every morning and it is the best, brown and crunchy compared to the bland whiteness of Quaker or Mother's. I add water and a few peach slices, some ginger and a pinch of pepper, then two minutes in the microwave and it's a great way to start the day. When my local supermarket stopped carrying it, for some reason, I found this offer and immediately bought 10 boxes. And when they're gone, I'll buy 10 more!

Manitoba Harvest Hemp Seed Nut

Not only do I love the nutty flavor of this product but it just enhances virtually anything I eat it with. And it keeps me full longer. Super product.

I didn't know what to expect from this seed, flavor-wise. But it is soft and tastes wonderful, like a milder sunflower seed. I ate them the way they arrived. But these seeds would also taste great on salad or yogurt. I will be looking to buy this in larger amounts. I need the protein and other vitamins provided by this seed.
