I love Nature's Path Oatmeal. I suppose someone reading my Amazon reviews might think I love it a little too much as I have purchased and reviewed almost every flavor. That's probably true. I do eat it every morning.
This texture of Optimum Zen is excellent, as are all of the Nature's Path Oatmeals. However, when I tasted this one for the first time, I was in for an unexpected surprise: Ginger. One of the many flavors in Optimum Zen is ginger and it is a little bit dominating. It pairs very well with Chai. However, I suspect that if you didn't like ginger, this oatmeal would not go over very well. So if you like ginger, are in for a unique oatmeal experience, buy it. If you're not sure, if I were you I would go to the local grocery store (only the organic-style stores around me carry Nature's Path) and purchase one box. You'll spend a little extra, but it'll be worth it with this flavor to make sure you like it before you buy 6 boxes.Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, this oatmeal is a great option. It's delicious and so easy to make and filling enough to carry you until lunchtime without needing to visit the vending machine. I love the ginger and don't find the taste polarizing in the least. I bought this bulk package and it lasted me a whole year and never became stale. My family loves this oatmeal. It's not too sweet and you can actually see the oats. This is the best oatmeal I have ever had. There is nothing that could be done to it to make it any better. I never knew that healthy and great taste could come in the same package!I have been on a real oatmeal kick lately, picking up whatever flavors pop up at my local closeout store. I picked this one because it sounded interesting. I like ginger snaps so I was kind of expecting that flavor, so I was a little disappointed in that aspect. I really like that Nature's Path is a family-run, organic business, so I will continue to try their products. Each 40g packet is 150 calories, with 160mg of sodium, 3g of fiber, 11g of sugar, and 4g of protein. It has 21g of whole grain and does contain soynuts.
